When Lily came out, everyone looked at her.
Mrs. Livingstone was the first to ask, âIs the child all right?â
Thomas looked at her angrily as if she had just killed his sonâ¦.
However, Lily ignored these two people and addressed Nora directly.
It had to be kept in mind that Lily was considered a famous surgeon overseas. When had she ever been treated so badly by others? Oh, except by her boss. Just like now, she had already walked over to Nora, but Nora was still not speaking. She could only say, âChief, I have successfully taken the DNA sample, the patientâs son is fine.â
Noraâs response was, âGood.â Then she yawned widely.
Lily: ââ¦â
Thomas, who was standing next to her, glared at her. âYou said thereâs no problem, but how can I trust you? Iâve already asked how to do the amniotic fluid puncture. Forget about one month, even at four months the probability of miscarriage is very high!â
Nora looked at him slowly. âItâs very unlikely that anything would go wrong when itâs Lily performing such a minor procedure.â
Thomas: â?â
Lily, who was inexplicably praised, instantly lifted her chin in excitement. Her expression of pride was very evident. She rolled her eyes and handed a DNA sample to Thomas. âThis is your sonâs DNA. You can find a random testing center now. If you suspect Iâve switched the sample, you can go to Ceceliaâs side now to take her DNA sample for comparison. My results will be back in two hours.â
Good heavens! The DNA testing lab would have taken at least three hours to give the results.
How could she need only two hours?
She was too good! Lily helplessly grabbed another DNA sample and went straight to the hospital control room. As she walked, she couldnât help but think: Was it okay to refer to herself now as a professional DNA tester?
When Lily left, silence settled in.
Thomas looked at Nora and wanted to say something, but since Justin was present, he could only remain silent.
After standing there for a while, he saw Cecelia being kicked out.
Thomas pursed his lips and walked towards her. Amidst her shouts of surprise, he pulled out a few strands of her hair and turned to leave. Cecelia had just had some of her hair pulled out, but she couldnât say a word at the time.
She knew she was finished.
When Mrs. Livingstone saw Cecelia, she had already rushed over and grabbed her hand to ask, âCecelia, how are you now, whereâs the boy, is the boy still around, is the boy still around?â
She felt that the child would definitely not make it.
One month pregnant was the easiest time to have a miscarriage. After the puncture of the amniotic fluid, the child would definitely disappearâ¦.
Unexpectedly, when she said this, Cecelia revealed an expression of doubt. She bit her lip and said after a moment, âStillâ¦â
âStill here?â Mrs. Livingstone was also surprised, but continued, âItâs okay. Some people donât have a miscarriage right awayâ¦â In Mrs. Livingstoneâs opinion, the child in Ceciliaâs stomach was Thomasâs. Even if it wasnât, it didnât matter. At least, after getting the secret to having triplets, her family could have triplets too!
Who cared about Cecelia?
So, what mattered most to her now was getting the DNA results and then slapping the Stewarts and Nora!
Nora didnât have time to stay at the hospital and wait for the results.
Justin was a busy person, too. If he wanted to run such a big company, he couldnât waste time. But with these two people togetherâ¦.
Justin whispered, âShall we wait for the results?â
Nora looked at him and suddenly felt that being with him, losing two or three hours was nothing.
She nodded, so the two of them sat on the bench in the hospital hallway and started chatting. âWhat was Cherry doing when you came out?â
Justin said, âOh, donât worry. I didnât let her play.â
If there hadnât been a twinkle in his eye as he said this, it would have been more believable.
Nora pursed her lips and reprimanded him. âYour eyes are still developing. If you stare at your phone all the time, youâll become nearsighted.â
âItâs okay. Sheâs a kid. If she wants to play, she can play for a while. Besides, weâre not nearsighted, so itâs not genetic. I help her do eye exercises every day and give her fish liver oil.â
Nora: ââ¦â
She grimaced. âDonât you think youâre spoiling her too much?â
âIs that so?â Justin thought seriously. âItâs okay. Cherry isnât arrogant or sassy. She has a sweet mouth and is especially obedient. I havenât spoiled her too much either. The girl is sensible.â
Nora felt she simply couldnât argue with Justin.
She sighed quietly. Just then, Lily came out with the DNA test results.
Lily walked over to Nora and yawned as well. Then, she handed her the results.
Lawrence, who had followed Justin, scoffed, âLily, youâve been with Miss Smith for a long time. Are you that sleepy too? Thatâs the third yawn Iâve seen you give today.â
Lily said in disgust, âThe boss yawns because sheâs sleepy. I yawn because Iâm so tired! I havenât slept for 24 hours.
Lawrence: ââ¦Sorry.â When Mrs. Livingstone saw Lily, she came over and asked, âWhat was the result? The child must be Thomasâs, right?â.
