The two bodyguards obediently approached Cecelia.
Terrified, Cecelia screamed and held Thomasâ hand. She said, âThomas, the baby is still too small, heâll die if heâs tested! Iâve already consulted, it can only be done when the baby is four months old!â.
Thomas was also indignant. He looked directly at Nora. âWhat are you doing, donât you have any regard for human lives?â Nora looked down. âFour months? If you count time, heâs at that age anyway.â
When Cecelia told Thomas about her pregnancy, she was already more than three months along. Now that a few more days had passed, it was almost time.
Besides, she would ask Lily to do the amniocentesis test in addition to the DNA test. She had a relatively good technique, so it would not harm the baby.
Although the child was not Thomasâs, when it came to children, Nora had never thought of going to the extreme of taking his life.
⦠even if Cecelia, the childâs mother, no longer wanted it.
Ceceliaâs pupils shrank, but she still steadfastly refused to admit it. âWhat do you mean by that? You must be Helenâs friend, right? Are you really doing something like this just for Helen? Do you have any idea who the Livingstones are or donât you? Donât you know that the Livingstones and the Hunts share very close ties!â
As soon as he said that, Thomas said, âThis is Nora.
Nora Smith?
Ceceliaâs eyes blinked a couple of times and she understood immediately. Her expression changed drastically from fright.
But she wasnât to go with them. Once she did, it would all be over.
So, despite losing control for a moment, Cecelia quickly calmed down and continued to act. She said, âI understand now. Itâs because youâve misdiagnosed Thomas, so now you want to take your anger out on us, right? Thomas! You really donât want the baby anymore?! Donât forget that the doctor has already said that it is certain that our baby is a boy!â
There were many ways to determine whether a child was a boy or a girl when it turned six weeks old.
One was to look at the ultrasound when the baby was six weeks old. If the fetus was rectangular, it was a boy. If it was square, it was a girl.
There was also numerical data to support the theory.
Therefore, Cecilia was pretty sure that the baby she was carrying was a boy.
Her scream made Thomas even more anxious.
When he was in his twenties, he had accidentally impregnated a woman. Later, because the womanâs social status was too low, Mrs. Livingstone had forced her to have an abortion.
After that, for some strange reason, although Thomas had fooled around with many women, he had never again managed to get anyone pregnant.
At first, he had thought it was because he had been lucky and had taken preventive measures.
But even after marrying Helen, he was still childless even though so much time had passed. To be honest, he was also very anxious about it. Now that Cecelia had become pregnant after so many difficulties and the baby was even a boyâ¦.
Thomas approached the two bodyguards and immediately got physical. He told them, âDonât touch her, I tell you, donât touch her! I will fight anyone who touches my baby.â
Unfortunately, the two bodyguards paid no attention to him. One of them grabbed him while the other grabbed Ceceliaâs arm.
The people Justin gave Nora would naturally be quite skilled.
There was no need for Nora to take any action. They subdued Cecelia immediately and led â or rather forced â her out.
Nora did not look back. Instead, she had the paramedics take Helen away immediately. The group rushed out the door with great momentum and headed for the hospital.
Behind them, Thomas shouted, âNora Smith! Helen Stewart! This is no different than a kidnapping! I wonât let them go!â He struggled and tried to free himself from the bodyguardâs grip. It was a shame he couldnât break free no matter what he did.
He looked at the bodyguard and shouted angrily, âJustin Hunt is my cousin! You have a lot of balls to have the audacity to do this to me.â
However, the bodyguard still kept his eyes down and said nothing. Only when Nora and the others got into the ambulance to head to the hospital did he finally let him go.
When Thomas regained his freedom, he pulled out his phone and called Mrs. Livingstone. Then he hurried off.
By the time he made his way to the hospital, Mrs. Livingstone had also arrived. The two of them went upstairs together and found the place where Cecelia had been forcibly taken.
Cecelia had already been forced into the operating room for an amniocentesis test.
As for Nora, she had dressed Helenâs fracture and had arranged to be sent to the VIP room.
Thomas rushed in at that moment and shouted to both of them, âHelen, itâs okay now! Just because you canât have children, you want to end my family line too? If anything happens to my son, Iâll kill you.â
Helen was already as calm as the still waters of a lake.
All her sadness about the divorce was gone.
Maybe it was when Thomas cheated on her, or maybe it was when she gradually discovered Thomasâs true colors; but after a point, she no longer had any feelings for Thomas.
She kept her eyes down and said nothing.
Jessica said, âThe results of the amniocentesis donât take long to come back. The same goes for the DNA tests. Youâll get the results very soon.â
Thomas, however, scoffed and said, âYouâre the ones who took Cecelia. Who can be sure whose DNA sample it is?â Jessica said, âYou can take Ceceliaâs DNA sample and do a test yourself!â.
Thomas frowned and said, âJessica Stewart, Nora Smith, do you two have any idea what youâre doing? Who gave you the guts to do that to my wife?â Almost as soon as he said that, a deep voice came from the door, âMe.â
Thomas froze at the sound of the voice. When he looked behind him, he immediately saw the big, tall Justin standing right there.
The flames of Thomasâs fury were immediately extinguished.
Nora raised her eyebrows slightly and walked over. She asked, âWhy are you here?â
Justin looked down, his voice gradually warming as he replied, âTo inspect the hospital, and also to visit Quentin on the way. When I heard you were here too, I came to take a look.â
Quentin was Noraâs cousin, so of course she would have to take care of him.
Enlightened, Nora nodded.
At that moment, Thomas came running up. âJustin, Justin! You have to help me! Isnât it obvious that Nora is bullying me? If she doesnât like Cecelia and likes Helen more, she could have said so earlier. That way, I wouldnât have done the divorce! But sheâs getting rid of my baby, Justin! I canât let her.â
Justin laughed. âYour baby? Can you even have children?â
Thomas choked. Then he stubbornly insisted and said, âWhy couldnât I have children, Justin? The baby in Ceceliaâs womb is mine.â
Justin said coldly, âOh, then letâs wait a few hours for now!â.
Thomas: ââ¦â
As even Justin had told him to wait, of course Thomas would not dare go against him.
However, Mrs. Livingstone, who was standing next to him, suddenly said, âJustin, since youâre defending them, then I can take a step back from Miss Smith and that little bitch Helen bullying the Livingstones! Weâre not going to go through with the business of them making the decision on their own to have an amniocentesis test on us! But if Ceceliaâs baby is actually Thomasâs, or if the amniocentesis test causes a miscarriage or other consequences, we should be compensated for the damages!â
Before Justin could say anything, Jessica had already asked, âWhat kind of compensation do the Livingstones want?â
Mrs. Livingstone suddenly smiled. âI heard some time ago that their family has a secret technique for having triplets, right? If the child is Ceceliaâs, then they must give us the medicine to have triplets for free! As compensation.
Medicine for having triplets?
Hearing this, Nora suddenly looked at Jessica.
For some reason, she suddenly had a strange feeling in her heart.
At that moment, Lily finally came out of the operating room.
