When Thomas answered the phone, he overheard Elder Mrs. Hunt ask, “You divorced her?”

“Yes, I’ve picked up the certificate,” Thomas said. When he turned around to look at Helen, he saw that she had already gotten into the car and driven away. The sight immediately infuriated him. In his opinion, Helen had to be crying her eyes out when she left him. But judging by her appearance, why did she look like she was dying to divorce him?

As he thought about it, he heard what Elder Mrs. Hunt said. Thomas immediately scoffed, “Auntie, in my opinion, you must be talking big again! Don’t worry! I know my body well! There’s definitely no problem with me! Besides, I’ve already asked Cecelia about it – she’s quite sure that the child is mine! Because she’s no longer in contact with her previous boyfriend.”

Cecelia was a well-known lady-in-waiting in the circle and had a chaotic private life.

Elderly Mrs. Hunt frowned and said, “Still, you should be cautious. Why don’t you visit a hospital and get yourself checked out? Even if you don’t trust alternative medicine, you sure do trust modern medicine, don’t you?”

Hearing this, Thomas was silent. Only after a while did he finally respond, “Okay, okay, I understand.”

After hanging up the phone, he walked to his car.

He opened the door. In the passenger seat was a woman in heavy makeup: it was Cecelia.

Cecelia asked, “Are we going to register our marriage?”

At first, Thomas had said he would register his marriage to Cecelia immediately after he divorced Helen. After all, they couldn’t get married after Cecelia’s belly appeared. If that happened, it would end up reflecting badly on them.

But when he thought about what Elder Mrs. Hunt had just said, Thomas suddenly felt there was no need to rush. He kissed Cecelia and said, “What’s the hurry? The test can be done when the baby is four months old, can’t it? We’ll register the marriage after we do the DNA test. If you’re in a hurry, we can have the wedding sooner.”

DNA test?

Cecilia’s eyes twinkled. She said, “I see, Thomas, don’t you trust me? If you don’t trust me, why are you going to marry me? In that case, I’ll have the baby aborted right away! I don’t want this baby anymore! It’s not even born yet and its father already rejects it! Why is my baby’s life so difficult?”

Thomas looked at her. “That’s enough, why are you making such a scene in front of me? It’s all because you have a bad reputation, so the elders in the house are worried. When the baby is four months old, we can do a DNA test and reassure my family. Why wouldn’t I trust you? But is it any use just me trusting you? My family has to trust you too! I know you’re suffering an injustice, but if you haven’t done anything wrong, what’s there to be afraid of? It’s just a DNA test, what’s so scary?”.

Cecelia bit her lip. She knew Thomas had already made up his mind.

Cecelia could only lower her head. “I’m doing all this for your sake! You mustn’t bully me in the future.”

“Okay, okay. Come on, come on, baby. I’ll buy you a ring.”

As the two drove away in the car, a hint of anxiety appeared in Cecelia’s eyes.

One day later.

News that the Livingstones had divorced Helen because she was infertile spread throughout New York.

“What’s going on, why are you involved in this?” Sheril, whose hair reached her shoulders, said angrily in front of Nora. “Not only are they saying your medical knowledge is lacking and that you were bribed by Helen, but they’re also saying you were planning to let the Livingstons be the fall guy.”

Nora let out a huge yawn. She took a sip of water and asked, “You woke me up this early just to say that?”

A confused Sheril said, “But it’s not early anymore. It’s already eleven o’clock.”

Nora always slept until one in the afternoon!

She sighed and pulled out a slice of bread. As she tore it into strips and ate it, Sheril continued. “Everyone says you’re too young and you’ve only superficially mastered Doctor Zabe’s medical skills and not the essence, so your medical skills are lacking! You’re too much of a tease!”

Nora uttered an “oh.”

Sheril would like to say that she, a bystander, was simply far more anxious than the person involved herself!

She asked, “What are you going to do?”

Nora’s eyes were a little dark as she replied, “Don’t worry.”

She had thought the Stewarts would take it easy, but, unexpectedly, they had acted so quickly and aggressively!
