âYou! Youâre all too arrogant.â Johnson I would never have expected Nora to solve the problem in such a simple and crude way in front of the members of the inspection unit.
Didnât she care about getting in trouble?
She was too arrogant.
Johnson looked directly at the people in the inspection unit and pointed at Morris and Nora. âDid you see that? Thatâs exactly how Captain Ford operates! Everything he does is totally against the rules and regulations! Besides, theyâve stolen what theyâre supposed to be guarding! How can they extract genetic serum from patients! What makes them any different from the members of that mysterious organization!â An indignant Johnson criticized them accusingly.
The people in the inspection unit looked at the bed and asked, âWhat do we do, is it still possible to extract the serum that has been injected into him?â
Beside him, the corners of the lips of the doctor who had come with them spasmed. âOf course not,â he replied.
After the man spoke, he twisted his neck and looked at the bed. Then he said, âTerryâs condition is simply too serious. It is almost impossible for someone to take a bullet to the temple and survive.
âNever mind, letâs take them back with us for now and take our time to investigate!â
The people in the inspection unit couldnât do anything either. They could only look at Morris, Nora and Janson and say, âAll three of you, please follow us back to the station to help with the investigation!â
Janson looked at his father. He wanted to say something, but Morris suddenly said, âTerry is here on his last breath. Let Janson stay, Iâll go with you in his place.â
gαâηÏνððsâ¤com is where imagination thrives Terry had been injured while on duty, so everyone in the department felt very sorry for him. Hearing what he said, after a momentâs consideration, the group told Janson, âYou can stay in the hospital and observe your fatherâs condition for now. However, you are not allowed to leave the hospital, and you must also make sure you are available whenever we call upon you.â
Gratitude welled up in Janson at that instant.
He looked at Morris and thought about how Johnson had told him about him just a moment ago only because he had stopped Mark, who had tried to punish Karl for his sakeâ¦.
But it turned out that, deep down, Captain Ford understood it all better than anyone else.
Jansonâs resentment toward Morris for having defended Karl all this time disappeared.
Red-eyed, he nodded. âVery well! Thank you, Captain Ford.â
Morris patted him on the shoulder quietly. Then, he looked at Nora. Just as he was about to speak, Nora yawned and said, âIâll cooperate with the investigation.â
Morris breathed a sigh of relief.
He was really afraid that the woman would leave the hospital in a moment of spite and end up in conflict with the people in the inspection unit.
After all, she tended to employ unorthodox methods and often defied authority.
âExcuse me, but where are you going to take them? How long will the investigation take? Also, can they bring their own pajamas?â.
Hearing this, Morrisâs heart lifted slightly and he felt an inexplicable joy. A moment later, indeed, he heard the people in the inspection unit hesitate for a moment before replying, âYes, they can.â
âVery well, then I will make some preparations.â
So, half an hour later, when Morris and Nora stepped out of the inspection unit car together, they immediately saw a group of assistants standing in front of the entrance to the special department.
Two of the attendants were carrying an 8-foot mattress. Some were carrying pillows and some were carrying quilts. They all stood respectfully.
Justin was not in the same car as them, but he was also standing there quietly. When he saw them, he greeted the person who had led the inspection unit during the operation and said, âHello~â
All: ââ¦â
Morris stared at Justin, and then looked at Nora who couldnât stop yawning. She couldnât seem to keep her eyes open anymore. Suddenly, he felt very good. How frustrated he had felt when those two had treated him like that last time was how happy he felt now.
Since they had said they could bring their own pajamas-after all, Nora and Morrisâs actions were still under investigation, and they were both special department talents-they couldnât ask him to bring a mattress now, either. They could only watch helplessly as Justin entered the department.
He chose the roomiest interrogation room there-after all, if the room was too small, the big mattress wouldnât fit.
So, they quickly transformed the interrogation room into a hotel room in just two minutes.
Nora walked in and took off her shoes. Although she also found Justinâs actions a bit over the top, she obediently sat down on the bed.
Then someone from the inspection unit came in and said, âMiss Nora Smith, please cooperate with us in the investigation. May I know ifâ¦â
âMay I close my eyes and rest for a while?â
Nora spoke suddenly and interrupted the other party. â⦠Yes, sure.â
She assumed that she would only be napping for half an hour when she asked to ârest for a whileâ, but unexpectedlyâ¦. When he left the room, he immediately saw Justin standing outside. He dutifully closed the door and indicated, âHe hasnât slept for three days. You can ask him your questions after he wakes up.â
Although he did not know how Justin had gotten into the inspection unitâs facility â after all, strangers were not allowed in â the man in charge of questioning Nora nevertheless replied, ââ¦. Okay, I guess.â
They were all colleagues. It shouldnât go too far!
And thenâ¦
She learned the meaning of the words âQueen of Sleepâ.
Five hours later, she approached and found that Justin had moved a chair towards the door. The man, who was sitting in front of the door, shushed him.
Surprised, the interrogator asked, âIs she still asleep?â.
âYes.â
Justin sighed. âAfter all, my Nora forgets to even eat and sleep once she starts working. She doesnât know what itâs like to rest at all. Geez.â
The corners of his lips tightened. âOkay.â
As he turned to leave, Justin suddenly said, âUmâ¦â
When he turned back, Justin said, âCan you tell the guys in the interrogation room next door to turn it down a little? The interrogation rooms here are not as soundproof as I had thought.â
While Nora was asleep for the world, the situation at the hospital was also changing.
With Morris temporarily away, Johnson became the interim leader of the special department. He also stayed at the hospital and stood outside Terryâs room.
Five hours had passed. After checking and analyzing Terryâs condition, the medical examiner came out. Johnson was quick to ask, âHowâs he doing?â
He suppressed his nervousness.
He knew it was impossible for Terry to survive. No matter how good oneâs medical skills were, surely there was no way to recover lost brain cells, was there?
But unexpectedly, the medical examinerâs eyebrows drew together tightly and then, with a fervent look, he said, âItâs too amazing! Itâs simply too amazing.â A foreboding feeling welled up in Johnson. âWhat happened?â
The man replied, âTerryâs brain cells are actually recovering!â Are they recovering?
Johnson was totally flabbergasted. He said incredulously, âWhat?â
The doctor took a deep breath and said, âTerry will actually be able to wake up in another day!â
