Karl stood there, staring at the center.
The New York sky was gray and heavy. The hazy sky seemed covered by a layer of gray gauze. But right now, that weather was nostalgic in Karlâs eyes.
Because his daughter was there.
As he stared, his phone suddenly rang. He answered the call and a voice came from the other end. âArenât you going to leave?â Karl was silent for a moment before he said, âIf I leave like this, Iâll never be able to come back!â
Escaping from prison would add to his crime.
He might even be killed during the capture!
The other party scoffed. âYou shouldnât have come back in the first place. All you have to do is complete the mission and bring those people back. Why are you meddling, have you forgotten about your murder case?â

âItâs too late! Youâre already on this path. There is no turning back. Go abroad immediately and await my orders.â
Karl took a deep breath. After a moment, he said, âAgreed.â

âOnce he flees, he will be a fugitive if he returns. He probably wonât be able to return to the country for the rest of his life.â Morris was still talking. âBesides, this case itself has many suspicious points. If he leaves like this, he will be associated with the mysterious organization forever. Maybe New York will also be hostile to the Assassins Alliance in the future!â
Nora: ââ¦â
She hesitated for a moment before finally saying, âIs it that easy to escape from the special departmentâs prison?â
Morris felt offended!
He coughed and explained, âOur prison is impenetrable. Not even a cannon will be able to open the door.â
Nora asked, âSo, how did he escape?â.
Morris sighed. âHe had the key.â
ââ¦â Nora was speechless again. Then she shook her head and said, âHow long had it been from the time he escaped until you discovered him?â
Morris was silent again. âFive hours.â
ââ¦â Nora pursed her lips. âFive hours â hadnât you noticed?â
Morris knew Nora didnât mean to belittle him, but he still felt a twinge of pain in his heart. He coughed and said, âSome surveillance cameras were replaced across the street, so no one noticed Iâd escaped. I thought about his daughterâs wedding tomorrow, so I wanted to use that as an argument and persuade him again. I only realized he wasnât in when I pushed open the door.â
Nora held her chin and continued, âOkay, then I get it. There are spies in the special department.â
Morris didnât answer or say yes or no, which meant he was probably suspicious as well.
After a while, Morris said, âWeâll put a surveillance camera around Tanya tomorrow, do you think sheâll come in?â
Nora was silent for a moment. After a while, she sighed. âI donât know.â She really couldnât tell what was more important between Karlâs life and her daughterâs wedding.
He hung up and lay down on the bed.
After thinking about it for a while, she texted Justin, âHelp me hack into the system and investigate Leonelâs case.â
Justin called her immediately. When she answered, she could hear the sound of the keyboard. The man laughed and said, âWhy donât you do it yourself.â
Nora yawned. âIâm tired.â
Justin nodded.
Then, he logged in. After two minutes, he said, âNo records.â
Leonelâs case was public record, so why were there no records?
Nora frowned and looked thoughtful when Justin said, âOh, no.â
Nora was taken aback. âWhatâs wrong?â
Justin coughed. âIâve been found out.â
Nora: â?â
How could he have been found out?
As she thought, she heard Justin say, âLast time, we were both doing it. We probably set something off accidentally. The hackers in the special department targeted us. Before, I was in a hurry to find the answer and didnât realize it. Now, the other party has set up a passage to chat with me. It has asked me who I am.â
Nora: â?â
She hesitated for a moment and asked, âSo, what did you say?â
Justin laughed, âI said Iâm Q.â
Nora: â!!!â
Why did he have to hold the punch?
She grimaced. â¿Y?â
Justin laughed again. âIâm being recruited and they want me to work for the special department.â
Nora: ââ¦â
The corners of her mouth twitched. Before she could ask, Justin said again, âI turned it down.â
Nora responded with an âoh.â Then, she heard the man in front of her chuckle softly. Nora asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Justin smiled, âItâs nothing.â
His tone was full of mockery.
Nora ignored him. âStop talking. Youâve exposed your identity. Iâm not going to bail you out when you get caught.â
Justin laughed. âDonât worry. If I get caught, Iâll be Q and youâll be Y.â
With the identities of Q and Y, could they still play with each other like this?
Nora didnât bother with him anymore and hung up the phone.

The next day was Tanya and Joelâs wedding.
The wedding was held at the Grand Hotel in New York. The Smiths had booked the entire hotel. Although Tanya kept repeating that she didnât want to have a big wedding, Joel disagreed. He even increased the scale of the wedding after discussing it with Karl.
The hotel had originally been booked by someone. Joel had to pay 10 times the price to snatch it from someone else. Of course, this was not important.
What was important wasâ¦
That it was rare for Nora to get up early! The wedding was at noon, so Tanya had to get up at six oâclock to put on her makeup, change clothes and get ready to go to the hotel. Noraâs mission today was to accompany her the whole time.
After the alarm she had set went off three times, she got out of bed lazily and went outside with narrowed eyes.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Joel standing in the doorway, looking at her with a faint smile.
Nora was taken aback. âWhatâs going on?â
Joel said, âThe special department called me last night and wanted me to give them contact information for Q. I told them he was overseas. The special department went on to say that they wanted to recruit an expert hacker like Q and asked me if there was anything else that could convince him, other than that fetishâ¦â
Nora: â???â
She asked curiously, âWhat fetish?â
What did Justin say yesterday?
Joel looked at her and laughed. âYes, I asked this question too. So, I got the answer that â¦â
