Whatever happened, Nora would always take good care of Tanya.

She had said this deliberately to force Karl to tell her the truth.

Soon after, Karl replied, [I trust your character a lot, Black Cat, so I’ll leave Tanya to you].

Nora frowned.

The Assassin’s Alliance was an illegal organization and most of its crimes were committed abroad. Besides, the Assassins Alliance was very loyal. Most of the assignments Karl accepted were requests for revenge, and he never killed the innocent indiscriminately. This was also the reason why she was willing to stay in the organization.

Nora had been speechless at that moment.

He used a voice changer and asked, “What happened to Karl?”.

Not even Black Panther was aware of what was going on. What had Karl done? As she wondered, Tanya’s voice came from the living room. “Nora, hurry up and come with me to try on your wedding dress!”

As Nora approached, she saw Tanya standing excitedly. “They’ve been working overtime to alter the wedding dress I picked out, so it’s done. I’ve also customized the bridesmaid’s dress for you. Let’s try them on together.”

Nora looked at Karl. Although he was trying hard to maintain his demeanor, his eyebrows were still drawn together as he looked down at his phone again and again. As Tanya approached the door after grabbing Nora, she suddenly looked back at Karl and asked, “You? Do you want to come with me?”

Tanya seemed happy and in a good mood. When she heard his answer, she smiled and said, “Okay. Did you come by car? Joel is coming from the office, we are meeting at the bridal store.”

Karl replied, “I did, I did! Come on! Dad will take you there.”

They walked out together and got into Karl’s car.

As Karl drove, he put his phone in the cradle as a navigator.

Nora and Tanya sat in the back seat.

Tanya was sitting right behind Karl, so she couldn’t see his expression. However, there was a slight excitement on her face. To be honest, there was something she had never mentioned in all this time.

She had never had a father in her life. What she envied most was that Hillary had a father to protect her.

She stared at the seat in front of her and then suddenly said, “Thank you!”

Karl was taken aback.

Tanya turned and looked out the window. “To be honest, when I was a child I always wondered something. When I grew up and got married in the future, what should I do if I didn’t have a father to go with me? I always knew Uncle Jon would never do it on my father’s behalf…”

Her words took Karl by surprise.

His jaw tensed and then, he smiled and said, “Well now, Tanya!”.

After saying that, the look in his eyes became steady and determined. Tanya smiled, “Yes.”

In that instant she felt an unprecedented happiness.

She had found her daughter.

She had found her father.

Her relationship with Joel had also returned to what it had been in the past….

It seemed that she no longer had any regrets in life…. She was immersed in the joy of trying on her wedding dress, but Nora’s gaze was fixed instead on Karl’s phone….

Even though it was in the back seat, she had a good view. She could clearly see the text messages on Karl’s phone.

He received numerous messages, all of them from Black Panther urging Karl to get out and meet them. Then those who had gone out to get a helicopter. This way, they could fly out.

But after a couple of glances at the phone, Karl turned it off.

Nora took a deep breath. Almost immediately she came to the conclusion that Karl was not being pursued by enemies.

Karl’s gaze roamed over the suits as he heard that. In the end, he chose a dark red one. “Tanya’s wedding is a joyous event. I’ll wear this one.”

Joel nodded.

The group headed for the fitting rooms.

Nora, on the other hand, became the most leisurely person in the place.

Soon after, Karl came out in a suit. As he straightened his clothes, he looked a little lost, and didn’t even know where to put his hands. He asked nervously, “Does it look good?”.

Nora smiled and replied, “…. Yes, it looks good.”

At that moment, the fitting room curtains opened. Tanya stood there in a pure white wedding dress. When she saw Karl, she raised her eyebrows in slight surprise. Then, she smiled and held out her hand to him.

Seeing how pure and beautiful she was, Karl’s eyes sparkled. He raised his hand, but just as he was about to touch Tanya’s, he hastily withdrew it, pulled a piece of handkerchief from his pocket and meticulously wiped his hands…. Seeing how nervous he was, Nora couldn’t help but laugh. Was he really that man who dominated the underworld?

At that moment, her phone suddenly rang. When she answered, Morris’ voice came from the other end. He said, “We got one of them to talk. It turns out that a few people got into the country with the help of someone! We have found their accomplices.”

His voice melted into reality. Startled, Nora asked, “Who are they?”

As soon as the question left her mouth, she heard footsteps approaching her. Then, a few plainclothes agents and Morris rushed over to her. They pointed their guns at Karl and shouted, “Karl Moore, you’re surrounded! Freeze!”

Nora’s head jerked sharply to the side and she looked at Karl in disbelief.

Karl seemed to have seen it coming long ago. His hand, which he had just wiped clean, hovered idly in the air. He had not yet taken his daughter’s hand. However, he no longer tried to take it.

She merely turned her head to Morris and said calmly, “Don’t be nervous, I won’t resist. But may I change my clothes? I shouldn’t spoil the one I’m wearing now.”
