Her words took Karl by surprise. “What do you mean by that, Nora?”

Nora raised her eyebrows. She was about to speak when Ian said, “It means the Smiths have someone who’s even more impressive than Black Cat! Don’t think you can keep talking about Black Cat just because you have Black Cat in your organization. We’re talking about the children’s marriage now, and yet you keep going on and on about Black Cat. Can you be any more annoying?”

His words immediately made Karl choke up, but he suddenly reacted and said, “This is not right, Smith. I’m the one who’s marrying my daughter off to your nephew – you should be the one begging me instead! Why should I be the one coming to talk to you?”

Ian, however, scoffed, “If you don’t want to talk to me about it, then I’ll go talk to Tanya.”

As soon as he said that, Karl was quick to say, “No, no, talk to me!”.

Tanya and Karl had just recognized each other, their relationship was not very good. Karl could not adopt the attitude of a father-in-law at the Smiths at all.

However, Karl would not allow his daughter to marry into the Smiths so quietly either!

As he was thinking about it, Tanya and Joel came into the room walking hand in hand.

They both seemed to be in love with each other, and Tanya’s eyes seemed to be smiling.

Joel’s smile had also become bigger and even more attractive than in the past. Seeing them, Nora asked, “Did something good happen to make the two of them smile like that?”

Tanya looked at Joel and blushed a little, though she didn’t say anything.

Joel walked over to Ian and Karl. He smiled and said, “Uncle Ian, Dad, Nora, you’re all here. I happen to have some good news for you.”

All three were shocked.

Karl was the first to react. “How did you just call me?”

Joel pulled out a folder and handed it to them. “Tanya and I registered our marriage and got our marriage certificate today. We are husband and wife as of today.”

“””!”””.

The news was simply too amazing, or at least, Nora gasped. She looked at Tanya in disbelief.

Karl was also stunned. “You guys… Aren’t you guys jumping the gun on this a little?” Tanya shook her head. “We’ve already let ourselves go for five years. We don’t want to let another five years slip away.”

Her words made Karl shut his mouth.

Ian stared at the two of them, so happy that even his eyes had turned a little red. He patted Joel’s hand and said, “Great, great!”

As everyone got excited, Karl said with dissatisfaction, “The wedding…”

Tanya said, “At first I didn’t want to have a wedding because it seemed pointless when we already have a daughter… but Joel didn’t agree. So we’ve decided to invite our friends and family to a simple wedding a week later.”

Hearing this, Karl lowered his head. There was a faint layer of mist in his eyes. “Hmph, at least you know what’s good for you, kid!”

Joel smiled and said, “Dad, Uncle Ian. I have some wedding details I want to discuss with you two.”

As they talked, he, Ian and Karl walked into the study.

Tanya stayed where she was and looked at Nora. She said, “Nora, I also have something to ask you for the wedding-“. Nora raised her eyebrows. “What is it?”

Evening.

Justin left the Hunts’ mansion.

As soon as he left, Mrs. Hunt approached with the help of the housekeeper. She sighed and said, “It’s only been a day since you’ve seen her, And you’re already unable to contain yourself?”.

The housekeeper said, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Besides, with the news that the Smiths are looking for a son-in-law, Mr. Hunt must be terribly anxious.”

Mrs. Hunt snorted, “I haven’t heard anything about them looking for a son-in-law, but I have heard something else!”

“What?”

“As expected, the Smith’s young lady is a simple woman who doesn’t know about the world! She had the audacity to challenge the alternative medicine circle! She can’t even see what she’s made of anymore! If someone like her becomes the matriarch of the family, she’ll definitely offend a lot of people and make a lot of enemies for the Hunts! My head hurts as soon as I think about this.”

As the housekeeper held Mrs. Hunt’s arm, she asked, “Did she challenge the alternative medicine circle?”

“Yes!” Mrs. Hunt sighed and said, “Alternative medicine is vast and deep, and the knowledge it contains is astounding. Remember the Zabe Corporation’s Soothing Pill? Wasn’t it far more effective than modern medicine? Where exactly did a little surgeon like her get the courage to challenge the alternative medicine circle? The way I see it, as soon as Doctor Zabe’s disciple goes into action, he’ll crush her under his feet!”

The housekeeper frowned. “Will that bring trouble to the family?”

Mrs. Hunt scoffed, “It won’t come to that much, but I think it’s something that will do her good! After all, once the competition is over, both alternative and modern medicine circles will loathe and despise her! With that, the Smiths will finally realize the position she is in. It will be much easier for the Hunts to propose marriage after that!”

The housekeeper was surprised. “Do they still intend to let him marry into the family?”

Mrs. Hunt sighed. “Look how Justin is behaving. If I don’t let him marry into the family, I’ll lose my grandson and my great-grandchildren! The current situation looks pretty good to me. We’ll let the outsiders suppress their arrogance first!”

“That’s right…”

After the conversation, Mrs. Hunt said, “Get ready. We’ll go to the Smiths to propose to them two days later.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

On the Smiths.

“Do you have your marriage certificate?” Justin’s surprised voice traveled through Cherry’s phone.

Cherry nodded. “Yes! So Mia’s mom and dad can be together forever now! Dad, will you and Mom get a marriage certificate too?”

Nora was sitting on the couch reading a medical book. Hearing this, she unconsciously looked down at her phone, over which she heard Justin say, “As long as your mom agrees, I can do it anytime I want.”

Nora blinked and smiled.

Cherry and Pete chatted some more with Justin. Then, Justin asked, “What does your mother do?”.

Cherry replied, “…She’s reading!”.

“Pass the phone to your mother.” Cherry passed the phone to Nora.

Nora put the book down and lay back on the couch lazily. “What’s wrong?”

Justin coughed. “Turn off the speaker phone first.”

Nora furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Cherry and Pete, who were watching her greedily. The two kids were like two huge third wheels.

She turned off speakerphone mode. “Talk.”

“Nora, I miss you.”

Nora: “!!!”

When she heard this, she unconsciously looked at the two children again. For some reason, her cheeks suddenly felt a little warm.

She reached out and fanned herself. Then, he said, “So?”

“Come down.”

Nora felt startled by his words.

She unconsciously got up, opened the door and went downstairs. She left the living room and walked toward the parking lot.

It was pitch dark outside.

She had just passed under a large tree when someone suddenly grabbed her by the wrist. They held her down, and then the familiar aura of a man rushed at her.

Nora wanted to say something, but the next moment, her lips were sealed ….
