Morris: â????â
Shouldnât he ask the other partyâs name and occupation first? Why was the first thing he was concerned about was whether or not that cute?
He looked down. âCaptain Brenda, Iâm talking about a serious matter!â
Brenda made a dismissive gesture. âHey, me too. Understanding your teammates is also a key to team success, right? Plus, I have an allergy, so my requirements for the people I work with are pretty high.â
Morris was taken aback. âWhat kind of allergy?â
Brenda sighed. âIâm allergic to ugly people.â
Morrisâs jaw tensed. The woman looked at him pityingly and said, âReally, Iâm not kidding.â
Morris looked at her for a while with a cold stare. But soon after he relented and said, âSheâs a womanâ¦â.
He thought of Noraâs delicate face and of her constantly narrowed eyes, as well as her almond-shaped eyes when she occasionally raised her head and looked at someone intently, then slowly added, âSheâs pretty.â
Brenda stared at him and suddenly smiled, âOkay, got it.â
Morris took a deep breath and began to talk about Noraâs occupation. âSheâs a surgeon. Her name is Nora Smith.â
Brendaâs lazy eyes instantly darted upward. She was a little dazed. âWhat?â
Wasnât that Justinâs lazy girlfriend who only knew how to sleep all day?
After Nora got up and had something to eat, she slowly made her way to the address Morris had sent her.
It was a French restaurant.
The restaurant had a very distinctive interior decor, and it was obvious at a glance that it was a very expensive restaurant.
He opened the door nonchalantly. Immediately he saw Morris, who was sitting in the quietest spot in the corner, right in front of the door.
Dressed in a black suit, he gave off an aura of righteousness around him.
As Nora approached, she discovered that a woman was sitting across from him.
The woman appeared to be between 24 and 25 years old. She had big wavy curls and wore a tight black dress. Her posture was carefree and lazy, plus she had a pair of deep-set eyes that looked very bewitching and also⦠somewhat familiar.
She also had an impressive figure. His chest was tight and bulging. It was obvious at a glance that hers were remarkableâ¦.
Also, even though she was sitting, Nora could see one of her legs extended. Long, white and slender, it looked so tender it made her wish she could pinch it.
Tanyaâs face was also very attractive, but hers was a different kind of beauty. Tanyaâs beauty was very aggressive, and her big eyes looked a bit exotic.
They had not been aware before, but now they knew that her father was Karl. Since Karlâs parents were of mixed ethnicity, that meant that a quarter of Tanyaâs blood was also of another ethnicity. That explained everything.
However, that was not the case with the woman in front of him. She probably wasnât mixed race. She was just beautiful and knew how to dress well. On top of that, she also knew how to exhibit the most beautiful side of a woman, so she looked exceptionally⦠like the female version of a slag.
Ahem.
Nora felt it wasnât quite right for her to think of a woman like that, so she looked away. As soon as she did, she felt the woman staring at her.
Brenda knew Nora must be very beautiful, but she hadnât expected her to be that beautiful.
Nora was a standard American beauty. She had an oval face, a defined nose, full lips, and almond-shaped eyesâ¦.. Her face should have appeared extremely gentle and very charming, but because of her lazy and carefree attitude, with her slightly downcast eyes as well as the careless and carefree air that surrounded her, she gave people the illusion that she was a cold and icy person.
However, the contrast did not seem at all out of place in her. On the contrary, it gave her a mysterious aura that attracted peopleâs gazes.
No wonder Justin was so infatuated with her. She was really attractive.
Brenda looked away.
Morris introduced the two of them. Then he said, âOur teamâs objective is to investigate the incident all those years ago. Captain Brenda and I will handle the usual arrests and evidence gathering, but once we catch the suspects, we may have to trouble Miss Smith for the relevant medical tests.â
âItâs no bother at all.â
Nora couldnât help yawning. âFeel free to come see me anytime then.â
Morris nodded. âWeâll pass along the samples and such we collect. I hear Antiâs medical team is the most professional in the world. Iâm sure you guys will be able to find out more than we can with the analysis. In addition, we will also turn Victor over to them for medical treatment.â
Nora nodded. âNo problem.â
Lily would be the one to take care of all these things anyway. She was already busy taking care of Quentin, Ian, and Old Maddy every day. An extra Victor should be no problem for her.
Nora, the unscrupulous businesswoman, she thought to herself without any psychological baggage.
Morris had asked the two out today so they could get to know each other. Now that they had met, she said, âSoâ¦. I guess thatâs it for today?â.
Nora nodded. She had no objection.
However, Brenda unconsciously felt the impulse to answer him with a joke. She said, âCaptain Ford, I came all the way out here on an empty stomach just to meet you, and you wonât even buy me lunch?â
Morris: â?â
He looked at Nora. After a momentâs thought, he finally said, âIâll buy you both lunch, then.â
Brenda was about to nod when Nora stood up. âNo, itâs okay. Iâve already eaten, so Iâll go first.â
Although she didnât have much to do, unfortunately she had too many identities.
With each of her identities giving her a little work each, she was left up to her neck in work. How was she going to have time to enjoy French cuisine here?
She stood up and said, âEnjoy your lunch.â
Just as she turned and prepared to leave, Brenda suddenly stood up too. She said, âIâll pass on eating too. Donât forget you owe me a meal, Captain Ford. Letâs eat together another day.â
After teasing Morris, she followed close behind Nora. âMiss Smith, since weâre teammates, why donât you invite me over to your house to hang out?â
Nora: â?â
The woman seemed nice enough and wasnât the type of person he disliked. Also, for some reason, her eyes also gave him a good impression of her.
Therefore, he nodded after thinking about it. âOkay.â
Nora had driven to the restaurant in her jeep. Brenda left her own car and climbed directly into the passenger seat of the jeep. âLetâs go!â she said.
Nora didnât think much of it, however. She started the car and drove back to the Smithâs house with Brenda.
After entering the house, Brenda looked up and said, âHey, girlfriend, as long as Iâm here, why donât you let me meet your daughter.â
Nora: â???â
Pete and Mia had gone into the garden. Cherry, however, was at home.
But why was she suddenly asking to meet her daughter?
After a momentâs hesitation, she replied, âOkay.â
He headed upstairs to take Cherry downstairs. Meanwhile, Brenda narrowed her eyebrows.
She was simply going to meet the person Justin hadnât wanted her to meet!
In the midst of her thoughts, an adorable voice was heard from upstairs. âMommy, who are you taking me to?â
