With Mia in the middle, Tanya glared back at him. Fearing she might wake Mia, her voice was very low and soft as she replied, “No, I’m not.”

Joel made an acknowledging sound.

Tanya thought she was going to sleep, so she pulled the quilt over herself and closed her eyes.
