Joelâs expression suddenly became very horrible. He said anxiously, âTanya, I can explain.â
âSave that for your daughter, Mr. Smith â our relationship is not at the point where you need to explain anything to me! Goodbye.â
Tanya turned and walked back into the garden in anger.
Fury and panic surged in Joel as he looked at her from behind.
He turned around and got into his car.
âTo the company, Mr. Smith?â the chauffeur asked.
Joel was practically grinding his teeth in fury as he said, âTo Hillaryâs house!â
He pulled out his phone and looked at his own Facebook. However, he didnât see Hillaryâs post â this meant the post had been hidden from him!
He reached out to the chauffeur and said, âGive me your phone.â
His chauffeur also had Hillary as a friend on Facebook.
He took a look after the chauffeur handed him his phone. Sure enough, he found the post.
Hillary could hardly have been stealthier.
The two arrived at Hillaryâs residence. When Hillary learned that Joel was there to look for her, she cheerfully descended the stairs. The moment she came downstairs, however, she saw a furious Joel.
Hillary sheepishly asked him, âJoel, whatâs wrong?â
âCan you explain that Facebook post of yours!â
Joel shoved the chauffeurâs phone in front of her face.
Hillary froze at the sight of the post.
She bit her lip, forced a smile and replied, âIsnât that a normal Facebook post, Joel? Whatâs wrong?â
Joel angrily demanded, âDid you follow us to the restaurant?â
Hillary looked down. âI⦠itâs just that I missed Mia so much, so I followed the two of you. Let me explain, Joel⦠I didnât intend anything else by posting. I just didnât want other people to know that I didnât even get to celebrate my daughterâs birthday with herâ¦. Theyâll look at me funny if they ever find outâ¦â
Those words of hers couldnât have been more pretentious.
Even the chauffeur thought it was understandable that she would do that.
Unfortunately, it was Joel she was up against.
Joel didnât accept her nonsense at all. He took a step forward and held her chin. âSo, do you want to have cake with your daughter on her birthday?â
Hillary nodded. âYes.â
âOkay.â
She took the container with the cake that Tanya had refused. He opened it, took out the cake and smashed it into Hillaryâs face. He said coldly, âThen you taste it good!â.
Hillary: â!!!â
She took a step back and wiped the pie off her face with her hands. She raised her head and looked at Joel in disbelief. âJoel, youâ¦â
She couldnât bring herself to say the rest of what she wanted to say, however, because the look on Joelâs face was simply too frightening.
The way he looked as if he wanted to kill her made her unable to utter a single word.
Joelâs icy voice rang out, âDonât you dare do any tricks from now on, or else!â.
Hillary wanted to speak, but added, âYou should thank your lucky stars youâre Miaâs mother. Otherwise, you would have died a long time ago.â
Her words stunned Hillary.

Since they had made plans to go to the amusement park the next day, Nora woke up a little late. She stretched and went downstairs.
In the afternoon, Nora gave Lily the drink that had been left over from Victor at the arena the day before and told her to go to a lab and check if there were any unidentified chemicals in it. Nora also instructed her to personally do the test.
Since Lily had returned to the States to help her, she had been terribly busy. She left immediately after collecting the leftover drink and receiving Noraâs instructions.
Nora, however, went back to sleep after that.
What was she going to do? The date at the amusement park would take up her whole day, which meant that the next day she would have to get up early. Therefore, he had to catch up on the next dayâs sleep in advance.
When he woke up again, it was already dark.
He got up, got dressed and went down to the parking lot. She was about to go to the car when Quentin appeared behind her and said, âWhy donât you come with me today in my car, Nora?â.
Nora: â?â
She looked at him.
Quentin said, âIf you go with me, I can show you how intimidating I am in the arena. That way youâll have special privileges.â
Nora had always enjoyed special privileges from the very moment she was number 028. She had no idea what it was like for ordinary people.
However, since Quentin was inviting her to go with him so enthusiastically, Nora thought about it for a while and simply replied, âOkay, then.â
This way, she wouldnât have to drive either.
She could even take a nap on the way.
She carried a bag in her hand. Inside was the red dress and silver mask she usually wore.
However, it was only after getting into the car that she realized that sleeping in the car was an overindulgent idea, because Quentin couldnât stop talking while they were on the road.
âWhy donât I introduce you to Big Sister later, do you also admire Big Sister very much? I can even ask her to give you an autograph.â
Nora: â?â
She said lazily, âCan you even get one for yourself?â.
âOf course. Iâve already participated in several encounters with her, so Iâm sure sheâll show me that courtesy. Besides, Big Sister holds me in high esteem. She has even recognized me as her younger brother.â
Nora: â?â
When had she recognized him as a younger brother?
As she hesitated, Quentin spoke again. âAre you jealous? To be honest, what she values in me is my ability. You know Iâm third in the New York martial arts circle, right? Other than Big Sister and Big Brother, Iâm the strongest one here!â
ââ¦â
âDo you want to take a picture with Big Sister afterwards? If so, you can leave that to me too!â
The corners of Noraâs lips twitched. âIâm fine.â
âAre you embarrassed? Thereâs nothing shameful about chasing idols. Besides, Big Sister isnât that perfect.â
Nora: â?â
Was he starting to badmouth her?
As she thought about it, Quentin said, âShe really doesnât have a good eye for people. Her husband isnât that good. He just seems like a useless pretty boy.â
Nora: ââ¦â
âBut nobodyâs perfect, after all. Given Big Sisterâs status, itâs understandable even if looks are the only thing she takes into account when choosing a husband. Itâs not so bad to have a gigolo, either.â
ââ¦â
âHowever, I intend to persuade Big Sister to give him up.â
The corners of Noraâs lips twitched as she said, âThatâs impossible.â
âWhy not, my words carry a lot of weight with Big Sister. If I tell her to break up with him, Iâm sure sheâll consider it. After all, weâre big shots in the martial arts circleâ¦â
Quentin continued chatting all the way until they reached the arena.
Quentin was about to get out of the car when he noticed that Nora hadnât moved. The man, confused, asked, âArenât you going to get out of the car?â
âOh, I have to change.â
Quentin was about to tease her for being vain and changing when there was no need to, when Nora pulled a red dress and a familiar looking silver mask out of her purse.
Quentin: ââ¦â
