When Nora, who was about to stop in front of the jeep, saw him approaching out of the corner of her eye, she stopped slightly and instead followed Justin to the ordinary car that was two parking spaces away from the jeep.
Justin looked behind him. When he saw Quentin, he immediately understood why he had done that. However, he pretended not to understand and raised an eyebrow. He asked, âAre you thinking of going home with me? It would be a great pleasure.â
Nora: ââ¦â
She rolled her eyes and said, âCan you be a little more serious?â
Justin let out a low chuckle. âThatâs the first time anyone has ever told me to be more serious.â
In front of outsiders, she had always been unfathomable and insensitive, but the man was loosening up more and more in front of her.
For some reason, Nora suddenly thought back to the first time they had met.
The man had been cold and unfathomable on that occasion.
He had stepped out of the elevator of the Finest Hotel in California as if he were the bright moon surrounded by a myriad of stars. At that moment, Peteâs head was buried in his shoulders, with only the back of his head exposed.
The man had looked at her and then said coldly, âYouâre not my type, Miss Smith.â
â¦
How times had changed. How had that cold, aloof man of that time fallen into the world of mortals?
As she thought about it, the man walked over to the back seat, opened the door and pulled Cherry in. Then he looked at her, âDonât you want to be in the back seat? Oh, thatâs right. Youâd definitely want to be in the passenger seat instead.â
Nora: ââ¦â
Right. No matter how much time passed, it seemed that the man only became more and more narcissistic.
In the end, Nora sat in the back seat. Justin didnât mind either. He drove off with her and Cherry.
In the parking lot.
Step into new worlds at g Ɐ lnÏ Î½ð® âsâ¤conn Quentin pulled up in front of the jeep after seeing Big Sister get into the car with her husband and daughter. However, even after waiting for quite a while, he didnât see his cousin get out. She frowned and looked inside the jeep through the window.
The chassis of the car was very tall. When he looked at the back seat, he noticed that there were two pieces of clothing placed there.
Quentin was shocked.
Werenât those the clothes Nora was wearing when she was attending to Uncle Ian at the hospital?
Why were they in the back seat?
No, waitâ¦
Quentin suddenly understood something, and immediately smiled.

Nora left with Justin. She waited for Quentin to leave before she went back to her car.
She got into the car and changed in the back seat. After nonchalantly tossing the red dress in the back seat, she finally opened the door to go to the driverâs seat.
Before she approached, Justin laughed and said, âIf you really want to hide your identity, you should change your car too.â
He tossed his car key to Nora and suggested, âWhy donât you drive this car instead for now.â
Nora looked at her car.
On the outside, it was an ordinary Volkswagen.
But once you got inside, you realized it wasnât as plain as it looked on the inside.
Whether it was the engine or the leather seats, they were all top of the line. Remodeling a car cost a lot. Besides, even if you had the money, it took time to remodel a car at the last minute.
So, after thinking about it for a while, he didnât turn it down. He took the car keys and told her, âI wonât be formal then.â
Nora drove the jeep while Justin drove the ânormalâ Volkswagen. The two left the building one after the other, and subsequently entered a high-end residential complex.
After getting Justin to park the Volkswagen in the residential complex, Nora said, âI bought an apartment here. This is the apartment parking lot.â
Justin looked up. âWhatâs your apartment number?â
Nora was a little surprised, but nevertheless answered, â302.â
Then he asked, âWhat are you planning?â
âTo buy 301.â Justin smiled and said, âIf you ever move in, we can be neighbors.â
â⦠You must be out of your mind,â Nora said.
âYeah, why donât you treat my illness?â joked Justin immediately.
Nora: ââ¦â
The corners of her lips tightened. She climbed into the jeep and said, âGet in the car. Iâll take you home.â
Justin picked up Cherry and climbed into the back seat. When Nora, who had climbed into the driverâs seat, saw them, she couldnât help but say, âSheâs all grown up now, and youâre still carrying her?â
âThereâs no child seat. Itâs not safe,â Justin explained briefly.
Nora curved her lips in disdain, âSheâs used to riding alone in the car by now.â
âMom, that was because no one was looking out for me then! Iâm not used to it anymore!â protested Cherry weakly. As soon as she said that, however, she saw Noraâs stern eyes in the rearview mirror. She was so frightened that she shrank back and hurriedly said, âYes, Iâm so used to it. Why donât you put me down, Daddy, donât hug me so tight~â
Despite saying that, she didnât get off Justinâs legs but hugged his neck tighter.
Nora: ââ¦â
Justin laughed and stroked Cherryâs hair. He didnât expose her but supported her and said, âBe good. Donât listen to your mom, sheâs just jealous.â
Cherry was puzzled. âWhat is she jealous of?â
âOf me hugging you, of course.â
This was an ambiguous statement.
First, it meant that she was jealous of Cherry.
Second, it meant she was jealous of Justin.
That scumbag was taking advantage of her at every turn.
The corners of Noraâs lips tightened. She couldnât be bothered with the two of them, so instead she asked distantly, âWhen are you and Pete getting back together, Cherry?â
Cherry immediately panicked. She said, âMommy, I miss you so much. I miss you so much. I miss the way you sleep, the way you get ready for bed, the way you doze off while you eatâ¦â
She couldnât think of anything else. After getting stuck for a while, she finally said, âBut Pete needs you more! After all, you havenât seen each other in five years, so Iâm not going to disturb your bonding time, okay?â
ââ¦â
That crafty little girl obviously didnât want to come back anymore after Justin spoiled her so much, so she made up a lot of excuses.
She teased, âShall I thank you on Peteâs behalf?â
âThatâs okay~â Cherry said sheepishly, âWhat can I do? Iâm his younger sister, after all, so I have to give in to my older brother~â
ââ¦â
It seemed that Cherry had become tougher than before.
She looked at Justin. It really was what they said: one was marked by the company he kept!
After Nora took Cherry and Justin to the Hunts, as Cherry got out of the car, she asked, âMom, when are you and Dad taking Pete and me to the amusement park?â
âAnother day,â Nora replied.
Cherry, however, persisted. âWhen will that be?â she asked.
ââ¦The day after tomorrow!â
Nora had no choice but to give her an answer.
âYes!â Cherry raised her eyebrows at Justin triumphantly. Then, she hopped out as she grabbed his hand and walked into the mansion.
Nora returned to the Smiths after that.
Unexpectedly, just after she got out of the car, Quentin came out of nowhere and blocked her way. He said, âYou donât have to pretend anymore, Nora! Now I know your secret.â
Noraâs pupils shrank.
Surely her identity as a Big Sister hadnât been laid bare, had it?
