Justin stared helplessly as Morris led her to the secret room. He frowned.
The confidential room was a room used for important cases in the country. No conversations were recorded inside it.
Therefore, whether discussing the case or presenting the case, she would be inside.
When Morris took Nora away by force and would not allow her to be bailed out, he knew that Nora might be involved in a case.
Now, the mystery was finally going to be solved, wasnât it?
He looked down. Her eyes were dark, and the mole in the corner of her eye seemed to flicker. From the looks of it, it seemed like he already knew what that secret was.

Nora initially thought the soundproofing in the interrogation room was good enough, but when she entered the room and Morris closed the door, her heart skipped a beat.
All sounds from outside were blocked by a door, making her feel as if she was cut off from the whole world.
When she looked back at Morris, he was still as cold as ever. He pointed to the chair and motioned for her to sit down before sitting across from her.
Both chairs were the same. It didnât look like he was interrogating a criminal and it was as if they were talking cleanly.
As Morris continued to struggle with his choice of words, Nora asked, âIs this about illegal drugs and human testing?â
Morris paused. âI didnât expect Miss Nora to be so perceptive.â
Nora rolled her eyes.
How could she still not understand at this point!
After the Old Maddy incident, Morris had kept asking her if she had given Old Maddy any medicine. Then, he had detected some unknown components in Old Maddyâs blood. He immediately became nervous and his attitude worsened.
At that point, Morris was sure that he had given something to Old Maddy.
Later, when he realized that Old Maddyâs blood contained drugs commonly used to poison rats and mosquitoes, Morris relaxed. He didnât even participate in Florenceâs arrest.
If she still couldnât pick up anything, then she would be too slow.
Nora thought about this and asked, âCaptain Ford, should we talk about this properly now?â
Morris nodded and folded his arms across the table. His posture looked rather quizzical and suspicious. âMiss Nora, are you aware that there is a mysterious organization on this world of which outsiders are unaware?â
A mysterious organization?
Noraâs first reaction was the Imperial League.
She looked down and seemed calm, but her heart felt as if it had been scalded.
The Imperial League was indeed a dangerous existence in order to control the world economy. But as far as she knew, it didnât do human experimentation or illegal drugs.
So it wasnât the Imperial League.
She looked at Morris and did not answer his question. âPlease explain.â
Morris looked at the girl in front of him.
She had just woken up. Perhaps it was because she had slept too long, but her almond-shaped eyes were a little puffy. Although she had eaten, her voice was still a little hoarse.
No one could guess what he was thinking.
Actually, Morris had been watching her for a long time, but it seemed to him that this girl was veiled. Every time it seemed to him that she was an ordinary person, she did something that surprised him.
For example, her identity as an Antiâ¦.
Thinking about this, Morris lowered his gaze. âWe still donât know what that mysterious organization is called. We only know that they do experiments on humans and illegal pharmaceuticals. Besides, the drugs they create are very dangerous and will cause a destructive blow to the entire human race!â
When Nora heard this, she slowly sat up and straightened up. Her eyes became more serious. âA destructive blow?â
âYes,â Morris said slowly. âWeâve deduced that theyâre creating a virus and theyâve already started human testing over twenty years ago!â
Twenty years ago?
Nora frowned. âIs my mother connected with this organization?â
Morris was silent for a long moment before slowly saying, âWe suspected your mother was from this organization, so we secretly arrested her back then.â
At that point, he lowered his gaze. âAt that time, my mother was the leader of the operations team. After her arrest, your mother said she had a patient waiting for me to attend to her. Otherwise, that patient would die. She even said that only she could treat that disease.â
Nora suddenly understood. âYour mother let my mother leave and my mother ran away. Thatâs why you refused to let me go this time. You didnât believe what I told you?â
Morris was speechless.
What did he mean by refusing to let her go
He grimaced, ignoring her choice of words, and nodded. âYes.â
Nora suddenly understood his neurotic way of doing things. If this was such a high-profile case, forcing her to stay was understandable.
After saying all that, Morris stood up and held out his hand to her. âThen please understand my actions.â
âOf course.â
Nora didnât shake his hand and merely shook it nonchalantly.
As they walked out, Morris took the opportunity to say, âFlorenceâs poison was taken from Yvonneâs room, but if Florence doesnât say anything, we canât hold Yvonne responsible. If Miss Nora wants to bring the real criminal to justice, she had better think of a way to convince Florence.â
Nora stretched lazily. When she thought of Florenceâs complaints about her, she looked down and said, âUnless sheâs Ianâs biological daughter, itâs impossible to convince her!â
Morris was speechless.
Nora shuffled her feet and lazily walked out the door. After meeting Justin, the two left the police station.
As soon as they exited, Lily appeared in front of her. She wanted to say something, but looked at Justin and pushed Nora away. She asked nervously, âAnti, are you okay?â
Nora nodded. âIâm fine.â
Lily said indignantly, âWhatâs wrong with the Smiths, is this how they treat you, theyâre too arrogant! Besides, your DNA mutated a bit in the later stages. No one can know for sure if youâre really Ryanâs daughter. I think your father is Ian.â
Nora patted him on the shoulder. âIf you donât have proof, donât talk nonsense.â
Whether she was Ryanâs daughter or Ianâs, there was no accurate news at the moment. Unless they had actual proof, Nora wouldnât say anything to the Smiths.
Otherwise, wouldnât it be awkward if she really was Ryanâs daughter?
Lily was so angry that she complained more. âProof? How can we get proof now? Unless we go back more than twenty years and save some DNA samples from your birth, where else can we find proof?â
Twenty years ago? DNA samples?
Nora suddenly thought of the manager protecting the Idealian Pharmacist for her motherâ¦. Her eyes lit up.
