The surrounding policemen immediately looked at Nora. Just as they were about to pounce on her and restrain her, Justinâs calm voice rang out. âCaptain Ford, if you dare to detain her, donât blame me for being rude.â
Morris pursed his lips.
He didnât move. His gaze was glued to Nora, who was still standing in the same spot. His eyes were filled with deep thoughts.
After a moment, he said slowly, âLet her go.â
With that, everyone around moved away.
Nora clenched her hands into a fist.
She had never expected Justin to do something like this for her.
Kidnapping Captain Ford was a felony.
In her opinion, her relationship with Justin only involved the two children.
Nora thought no more. She turned her head and stepped out decisively.
She took a step and sped up. Finally, she ran out.
Morris stared at her, his eyes full of anger. He sneered, âMr. Hunt, do you know what youâre doing?â
Justin slowly replied, âI know.â
âSo, do you know that the only way to get to the hospital from here is to drive a sports car?â.
Justin continued, âI know.â
Morris smiled coldly. âMr. Hunt, are you really so sure sheâs not guilty? And that sheâs going to the hospital? Arenât you afraid Iâll make her spend the rest of her life in jail if she escapes?â
Justin raised his eyebrows. âI believe in her.â
These words caused Morris to pause.
After a moment, Morris lowered his eyes. âYou know, my mother once said the same thing.â
Justin was a little taken aback. âWhat?â
Feel the thrill at g aln ov el s . com Morris said calmly, âTwenty-five years ago, Yvette Anderson was a murder suspect. She cheated on my mother in the name of treating a patient. Do you know what happened after my mother let her go?â
Justin frowned.
Morris said slowly, âShe ran away and my mother was held accountable for her actions. Now, sheâs been expelled and sent back to the camps. What will happen to you, who attacked a police captain because of Nora?â
Justin lowered his gaze, hiding his emotions. His voice was still calm and without any hesitation or doubt. âIâve already told you I trust her. Captain Ford, please cooperate for two hours.â
Morris scoffed. âEven if I cooperate, do you think there arenât more cops in New York? Do you think she can really get to the hospital safely?â
Nora was running away on her own.
The moment she left the police station, she would be spotted by the other police officers of the special department. Then, she would become a wanted criminal!

At the entrance of the police station.
Four heads popped out of the back of a black car. They were Quentin, Louis, Warren and Maureen.
All four looked nervously at the door.
Warren stammered, âReally, weâre going to take her out?â
Louis didnât care. âThatâs all we can do now, what else can we do?â
Warren: âThisâ¦this isnât good, is it? I havenât made a mistake this big before. Will Uncle Ian let us off the hook?â
Louis scoffed. âAll three of the Smithâs kids are here, why wonât he worry about us?â
Warren paused and spoke the truth. âOther than Joel, Uncle Ian only looks at Quentin twice. Do the two of us have any weight in his eyes?â
Louis: â⦠Warren, can you not tell the truth right now?â
ââ¦â
Quentin, who was listening to the two of them, moved his lips and said coldly, âWhat are you afraid of?â
He controlled the Smithsâ clandestine forces and had been in sticky situations many times.
But in reality, he was also panicked.
After all, the Smiths were law-abiding citizens. Back then, when Uncle Ian had handed over clandestine power to him, he had only instructed him not to break the law.
What they were doing, what they were secretly investigating and who they were protecting was all on the edge of the law.
Could they do something as illegal as this?
As I was thinking about this, the police station suddenly turned into chaos.
Everyone watched as the police officer at the door suddenly pulled out a gun and entered the police station.
Maureen asked in fright, âWhatâs going on?â
Louis hesitated too. âDid Nora run away?â
Warren instantly patted him on the head. âCan you use your brain? With your cousinâs frail body, how could she have caused such a fuss escaping from jail?â
Louis touched his head. âYouâre rightâ¦â
With this sentence, Nora ran out of the police station.
The girlâs figure was thin, and the hair tie had fallen off somewhere. At this moment, her beautiful hair was scattered behind her, she looked brave and beautiful.
As she walked out the door, the police officers behind her followed her, all pointing their guns at her.
Warren: ââ¦â
Louis: ââ¦â
Maureen: ââ¦â
Nora was very anxious. Those behind her didnât dare chase after her. After all, Justin was still inside. However, if she was leaving the police station and didnât have a car, how was she going to drive to the hospital?
Her gaze suddenly swept across the parking lot.
Before he could see who it was, he suddenly heard Quentin yell, âWhy isnât this car locked? The car keys are inside.â
Nora followed his gaze and saw the familiar car parked there.
She immediately rushed to open the car door without a word. She jumped into the driverâs seat and stepped on the accelerator.
Screech!
The car sped away.
The other policemen followed suit and chased after her in their police cars. The others followed her as she drove out of the police station.
Louis and Warren were stunned.
They both turned their heads again and saw that Quentin had disappeared. There was another car in front of the door, blocking the path of the policemen and the cars following them.
Quentin was leaning nonchalantly against a car. He said, âOfficers, why canât I start my car?â.
Louis: ââ¦â
Warren: ââ¦â
The two turned and saw other police officers approaching. âWhat are you guys doing here, whatâs your relationship to the runaway?â
Louis and Warren looked at each other.
The two brothers suddenly said, âOfficers, weâve come to call the police! That runaway was too fierce. She stole our car and ran away.â
The police officer: ââ¦What have you come to report?â
âMy brother hit me!â
âMy brother hit me!â
They both looked at each other after saying that in unison.
âYes, I hit him!â
âYes, I hit him!â
After saying that in unison, the two were stunned. Then, suddenly, they reached out and hit each other.
Maureen was speechless.
She touched her forehead. âPolice officer, ignore them. We just came to visit someone. We didnât expect them to snatch our car as soon as we left.â
The policemen were speechless.
