This was exactly the reason Nora had wanted to call her.
She would never give her close friend trouble just because of her sonâs request, of course. After all, Joel had Mia with someone else.
He could tell that Mia had great dancing potential, and he also knew that Tanya had been looking for a successor all these years.
Having reached a certain level in her dancing and having created her own brand of dancing, it was too difficult for her to find a suitable successor.
Although Nora had not had much contact with Mia, she could see that she was a nice girl.
That was why she had decided to bring up the subject.
Tanya must be referring to Mia, right?
She hesitated for a moment before she asked, âWhat do you think?â
Tanya bit her lip and sighed. She replied, âI donât know what to do either. She really likes to dance. Whenever I teach dance lessons, she sneaks in to learn, but I pretend I donât know anything about it. Sometimes, when I see her dancing alone without my guidance, I find myself a little dazed, as if I see myself when I was youngerâ¦â
Once I had passed by an area where few people went after school. There she had seen Mia in a white princess dress walking on tiptoe, with a lithe, graceful form.
Mia had been born with a small body. Like Tanya, the girl also had a tall, slender body.
It was a pity that someone with a body build like hers didnât dance.
She appreciated the talent, but every time she thought about Miaâs mother, she couldnât help but feel that she couldnât afford to mess with them.
The more Tanya thought about it, the more fed up she became. âForget it, Iâm going to wait and see some more!â.
Nora stared at her. Suddenly, she said, âSometimes, if you wait and see, opportunity can pass you by.â
Tanya was pleased with Mia, no doubt. Otherwise, she wouldnât have worried so much and told her so many things. She had always been a straightforward and blunt person, able to go with the flow.
Until now, Nora had never seen Tanya incapable of letting anything get to her.
The fact that she found herself in an internal struggle over Mia showed how much Tanya liked her.
To be honest, Tanya had made the decision a long time ago to teach Mia to dance. She was just missing that last push.
So when Nora said that, after being quiet for a while, Tanya suddenly said, âYouâre right. Iâll start teaching her tomorrow. Or at least, Iâll let her join the dance class!â
He wonât take her as an apprentice first. He will teach her as if she were a normal student for now.
Seeing that his worried look had disappeared, Nora nodded. âThatâll do.â
After the two chatted some more, Tanya finally hung up.
Nora didnât tell Pete or Mia. Taking Mia on as a student and teaching her to dance was Tanyaâs decision, and had nothing to do with her. She didnât need to go telling the kids about it to gain favors.
The day passed quickly.
Early the next morning, Nora got out of bed and went to perform acupuncture on Old Maddy again.
Barring any accidents, she would continue to visit Old Maddy and treat his illness for the next half month.
Unexpectedly, however, as soon as he arrived at the small house in the backyard, he saw the butler standing outside the house with a dilemma. Seeing her, he immediately panicked and said, âMiss Nora, Old Maddy is still unconscious. Surely nothing has gone wrong, has it?â.
The fact that he was still unconsciousâ¦showed that his health had suffered greatly and that he had been in a very strained state of mind for years. So after she had performed acupuncture on him, allowing him to relax, he had fallen into a deep sleep.
Nora entered the house and checked Old Maddyâs pulse.
The butler watched them from the side.
The sight of Miss Nora checking Old Maddyâs pulse as if he were a practitioner of alternative medicine surprised her. After all, alternative medicine practitioners tended to be of an older age.Could someone as young as her really do it?
The butler again questioned Noraâs medical skills.
Especially since, since the day before, Old Maddy had only woken up once half-heartedly from hunger. After eating something, he had fallen asleep again.
Surely Miss Noraâs medical treatment wouldnât really cause Old Maddyâs death, would it?
As he thought about it, he saw Nora brandish the extra-long needle and stick it back into Old Maddyâs head. A few pricks later, Nora stood up and said, âHeâs fine. Heâll recover when he sleeps a few more days.â
Then she turned and left.
The butler: ââ¦â
Was there anyone who slept 23.5 hours out of 24 a day!!!!!

While walking back to the main house after leaving Old Maddyâs residence, Nora received a call from Lily. Lily said, âI received the DNA sample you sent. I will start the test now.. The results will be back in eight hours.â
