The dining room table filled up quickly.
Warren also saw Nora, who was preparing to go downstairs.
Instantly he straightened his back and craned his neck. He pretended not to look at her, but he kept his eyes on her out of the corner of his eye.
If this person came over to greet her, he would definitely ignore her and tell her not to think he would recognize her as a sister just because she called him brother.
Uncle Ian controlled the whole family. Uncle Ianâs family was the direct line of descent. The other siblings, including him, were all from the side family!
As for Nora, it went even further!
After all, the hatred of snatching someoneâs wife was too intense!
Anyway, he was sent by his Uncle Ian, he definitely wouldnât be cajoled by his sister!
Just as he was saying this to himself, he saw Nora slowly coming down from upstairs. She walked past him and headed for the dining room without a word.
Warren: âNo, no, noâ¦â.
Was she blind? She was a living person, canât you see that?
Warren was so angry he wanted to go ahead and argue, but Yvonne held his hand. âWarren, you, donât stoop to her levelâ¦â
Warren snorted coldly. âI donât care about her, Iâm just not full yet! Go to the kitchen and see what else there is to eat!â
Yvonne: ââ¦â
Nora ignored them both. She could sense Yvonneâs inexplicable hostility towards her. As for Warren⦠He had conspired against her at the Hunts. It was good enough that she didnât settle accounts with him. How could she continue to greet him?
She sat at the dining room table and wasnât picky about what she ate.
The food she ate only served to fill her stomach. Delicacy never entered into his considerations.
Seeing that he looked like the reincarnation of a hungry ghost as he devoured a plate of steamed crayfish, Warren couldnât help but feel indignant.
He walked into the kitchen nonchalantly and brought out the prepared Australian lobster. He placed it on the table and sighed. âThis Australian lobster is too delicious!â
What was so good about the food sent by the Hunts â was it better than the Smithâs?
Hurry up and throw away that little lobster that doesnât have much meat on it â come try the Smithsâ lobster! Itâs full of meat!
Unfortunately, Nora pretended not to hear him. She took another plate of noodles and finished it in a few bites.
The way she ate was fast and hearty, but the sound she made as she ate was very soft. Whatever it was, he shoved it into his mouth in large mouthfuls and chewed quickly before swallowing.
Eating like this put pressure on his stomach.
Thinking about this, Warren said to her, âHey, canât you eat a little more elegantly? Canât you be a little more noble like the Smithsâ eldest daughter? You look like you havenât eaten in 800 years.â
Nora: ââ¦â
A plate of crayfish and a plate of noodles were quickly gobbled up by her. She pulled out a tissue and wiped her mouth before throwing it in the garbage can. Then, she stood up and looked around before asking in a hoarse voice, âWhereâs Cherry?â.
The housekeeper looked at her and lowered her head to answer, âIn little missâs room. Sheâs going to sleep with little miss tonight.â
The housekeeper looked at Nora and added, âShe has taken a liking to Little Missâs princess bed and has insisted on staying there.â
With that, she pursed her lips.
Not only that, but she had also tricked Little Miss into pulling out lots of princess dresses to share with her. This girl was so calculating!
Nora seemed not to have heard her answer. She asked again, âWhere is Miaâs room?â.
âTurn left on the second floor, the third room.â
Nora nodded and went upstairs.
When she left, the housekeeper instructed the nanny to get out a cloth and carefully wipe the place where she had sat before saying, âTake this silverware and disinfect it.â
Warren didnât care about her actions. After all, he didnât even know how nannies washed dishes. Besides, it was normal for household items to be sanitized.
Yvonne raised her eyebrows.
Nora had just gone upstairs when she heard a voice behind her.
She glanced up and realized that the housekeeper had followed her. When the housekeeper saw her, she walked beside her. âThe ladyâs room is this way. Donât walk around recklessly. It wonât do for you to bump into the gentlemen.â
Nora raised her eyebrows.
When she entered Miaâs room, she saw a study room with the door open. There were four main computers in it, and they were up and running.
She only glanced around before the housekeeper introduced, âThis is our young ladyâs work studioâ¦Miss Yvonne. She likes to code programs as a hobby. Sometimes, she would make some software with it. The firewall that Miss Yvonne created has even won awards. These four main computers are servers bought at high prices abroad. Donât go in recklessly. If you accidentally press any buttons and affect Miss Yvonneâs software programming, it wonât be good.â
These things were all too familiar. Nora couldnât help but ask, âIs she a hacker?â
âWhat hacker? This is just Miss Yvonneâs hobby. She just writes some code now and then. Miss Yvonne is omnipotent. She knows how to arrange flowers, draw, calligraphy, play the violin and the piano. Sheâs basically won every award in the industry.â
The housekeeper sounded a little proud when she said this.
Then, she said, âAlthough Miss Yvonne is an adopted daughter, she is Mr. Ianâs adopted daughter. Her status is definitely different from the other knights and ladies of the other houses. Apart from Lord Joel, all the other knights adore her. They treat her with respect.â
Although some of the Smiths lived in the house, others had moved in.
Actually, strictly speaking, Ian owned this mansion. Joel had been chosen by him to become the current leader and take over his business.
In ancient times, this was considered an adoption for Ian.
Only Warren and his wife could be considered to live in the mansion. There were also people from the other houses who had already moved in.
Even if Nora was the Smithsâ daughter, she was of the second branch. She was not considered the matriarch of this mansion.
The housekeeper knew very well who owned the house.
Nora gave her a sidelong glance at her words.
After showing Nora Miaâs door, the housekeeper left.
When she went down to the kitchen, she heard the nannies discussing in hushed tones. âMiss Smith will marry Mr. Hunt in the future. Then she will be Mrs. Hunt and become mistress of the entire Hunt Empire. But our Missâ¦Miss Yvonne, after she marries, will no longer be considered a member of the Smiths. In all of New York, other than the Hunts, no one can compare with the Smiths, can they? Is Miss Smith or Miss Yvonne more respected?â
The housekeeper came in immediately and sneered. âHave the house rules been broken? Of course, the mistress is the most respected!
