Yvonne was slightly stunned. She watched as Nora raised her eyebrows and reached over to push her wheelchair onto the balcony. An inexplicable sense of danger enveloped Yvonneâs entire body.
It was as if this woman was going to take everything away from her bit by bit in the future!
Ian had always ignored others. Even his attitude towards her had always been very cold. But now, he really wanted to talk to Nora alone!
As she hesitated, Warren walked over and gloatingly said, âSee, Uncle Ian must want to chat with her to get her to leave Justin! I really want to see the situation in an idol drama. Uncle Ian will probably throw her a check and command her in a domineering way to dump him.â
Yvonne was speechless.
Maureen: ââ¦â
Maureen couldnât help but grab Warrenâs ear. âYou think youâre living in a novel? Let me tell you, Miss Smith is Cherryâs mother. Youâre not allowed to take aim at her.â
When Rachel heard Warrenâs words, she smiled and said, âMiss Smith, I really envy you. Even though you are not his biological daughter, Mr. Smith is willing to defend you. But my father on the other handâ¦â
At this point, his expression turned fierce. âHe only knows how to scold me every day. Nothing I do is right. Auntie is always right. Am I her biological daughter?â
Yvonne was speechless.
This Rachel was too annoying!
She took a deep breath and suppressed the anger in her heart. She smiled and said, âEvery parent has a different personality.â
Rachel nodded. âMy father only knows how to scold me!â
Yvonne lowered her head at this.
She had never been scolded since she was young, but in reality, she wanted her father to scold her, too.
Yvonneâs eyes twinkled. âActually, you should have learned from Nora. After all, she has already become Mr. Huntâs girlfriend. Your father said that about you for your own good.â
Rachel was exasperated at his words. âWhy does he say that too, whatâs so good about it?â

On the balcony.
After Nora pushed Ian, she closed the sliding door to the balcony. After blocking out the noise from the hallway, only the sound of cars honking could be heard from the balcony.
She looked at him and saw that he didnât seem to have any intention of speaking. He coughed and said, âWhat do you intend to say, Mr. Smith?â
Ian was silent for a long moment before suddenly asking, âDid your mother say anything before she passed away?â.
Nora: ââ¦â
Ian had called her so openly just to ask this question?
He wanted to know if his mother had left him any words before she died.
What did he want his mother to say? That she had regrets? That she loved him? Or something else?
Seeing that she didnât speak for a long time, Ian laughed dryly and said, âWhat was I thinking? You were only half a year old when she passed away, how could you know?â.
Nora: ââ¦â
He had already answered his own question, why did he still want her to answer?
She said nothing more and waited for him to ask her to bring him back.
However, after a momentâs hesitation, Ian said, âYou can go back first.â
Nora: â?â
She nodded and opened the sliding door, returning to the hallway.
Looking behind him, Ian was silent for a long time.
It seemed to him that he was seeing the Yvette of over twenty years ago.
Not only did mother and daughter look alike, but their temperaments were similar as well. They were the kind of people who did what they wanted and didnât care about the gaze of others.
By that time, Yvette had offended many people because of her personality.
She had become the public enemy of many women.
However, she never cared what others said about her behind her back. The words she often said were, âWill I lose a pound of flesh if they say a few words about me? Since I wonât, why should I care?â
âThey talk about me behind my back because they are jealous of me.â
âItâs all my fault for being so outstanding that I became the topic of conversation. Gosh, me, with my beauty and intelligence coexisting together Iâm just too perfect. Iâm afraid itâs only because Iâm too stunning!â
ââ¦â
It was narcissistic and mockingly snobbish.
However, mother and daughter were different.
Yvette was a talkative woman, and although she appeared very graceful, that image shattered as soon as she spoke. On the other hand, Nora was very quiet. It was as if she didnât dare to speak.
Ian was immersed in his own thoughts and couldnât come out of them.

When Nora stepped out onto the balcony, Yvonne immediately intercepted her.
Seeing her calm expression, Ian didnât seem to have said anything overboard.
That made sense. No matter how much money his father gave him, was he worth as much as the Hunt Corporation?
Any woman would choose Justin.
He looked down, his eyes sparkling.
Nora yawned. Just as she was going to get Cherry, she turned around and accidentally bumped into someone. She looked up and saw a familiar face. It was Rachel.
Nora was stunned. Unconsciously she said, âIâm sorry.â
When she said it, her tone was cold and arrogant.
With that, she lowered her head slightly and thought about stepping around Rachel. However, after taking two steps, she was stopped by the other party. âYou bumped into me, is it over just by apologizing?â
Nora: â?â
She was a bit confused for a moment as her lips curved into a smirk. âShould I get down on my knees and beg for mercy?â
It was just a punch. It didnât hurt⦠Nora really didnât know how to apologize.
Rachel was furious. âWhat kind of attitude is that?â
Nora: ââ¦â
What was wrong with her attitude?
She was about to say something when Yvonne held Rachel and smiled apologetically at Nora. âMiss Smith itâs nothing.â
After saying that, she whispered to Rachel, âRachel, take it easy. Sheâs Mr. Huntâs girlfriend. Under the circumstances, donât be so rude to her.â
Rachel exploded instantly.
When she was at home, her father often scolded her, saying she was wrong about this and not good at that. He said she couldnât compare to Nora and even asked her to contact her more often when she was free.
Yeah, right.
Nora was a country bumpkin, why would she do favors with her?
Thatâs why he sought out Yvonne. In all of New York, aside from Miss Hunt, who had studied abroad, Yvonne was probably the most respected.
But why now was even Yvonne afraid of Nora?
Rachel panicked and pushed Yvonne. âWhat are you afraid of? Sheâs just an illegitimate daughter-how can she compare to you?â
Yvonne panicked. âDonât talk nonsenseâ¦â
At that moment, Rachel spoke without thinking. Her voice rose instantly. âHow can I talk nonsense, am I wrong, didnât you see him during the last live broadcast, his father isnât even his biological father! His mother was pregnant even before she got married. He got his father to be a spare tire and take over.â
At that moment, Ian turned his head as he heard this.
