Justin stopped on the spot.

Nora and Pete stopped as well.

The three of them thought simultaneously, ‘How fortunate that we left Cherry at the training gym. Otherwise our family of four would have found each other. I really wouldn’t know what to do if that happens!’.

They stared at each other as they faced each other. Because of their guilty consciences, they were all quite uncomfortable.

Justin was the first to come to his senses. He asked, “Why are you here Miss Smith, have you come to visit Pete?”.

Nora breathed a sigh of relief. “Yes.”

The corners of Pete’s lips spasmed. From the looks of it, he wouldn’t be able to go out with Mom anymore today.

Justin was silent for a while. Then he finally suggested, “In that case, how about Pete going with you to the Andersons’ to play?”

Pete “¿?”

The tyrant had always watched him very strictly. Wherever he went, he was always accompanied by a group of bodyguards. Why was he suddenly allowing him to go back to Mom’s now?

Pete looked at the tyrant hesitantly, thinking that perhaps he had already sensed something. However, the man remained expressionless and no one could see through his thoughts.

Nora didn’t expect the problem to be solved so easily. Besides, the two children might bond with the Andersons, so she nodded her head and replied, “Okay!”

He stroked his chin.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity-should he get a private jet and run straight away with the two babies?

Just as she was thinking about it, Justin laughed and said, “My bad.”

Nora, “?”

What mistake was he admitting when everything was fine?

The next moment, Justin straightened his back, adjusted his tie and said, “I’ve been too busy lately, so I haven’t spent any time with you, which has caused you to have plans with Pete again.”

Nora, “!!!!”

The corners of her lips tightened. She was about to speak when the scumbag continued. She said, “It doesn’t seem like Miss Smith is very busy every day either, why don’t we have a date every other day?”

“… You are a very busy man, Mr. Hunt. You don’t have to go to all that trouble.”

“Not at all.”

Justin leaned against the wall and watched the adult-child pair from above. Nora’s almond-shaped eyes lifted slightly and the corners of her lips twitched slightly.

The corners of Pete’s lips also twitched and he looked at Justin with disdain.

Justin ignored his son’s look and said calmly, “You and I have already reached this stage in our relationship. Wouldn’t I have lived the last twenty-some years of my life in vain if I continue to allow work to shackle my freedom? Instead, I can take care of my work affairs every other day, just like you only do two operations a month, right, Dr. Anti?”

Nora, “!!!”

The corners of her lips tightened. Having no other reason to refute him, she could only say resignedly, “If you say so.”

Then she took Pete’s hand and prepared to leave.

She had barely taken a couple of steps when her cell phone suddenly rang.

It was an unknown phone number. When she answered the call, a sinister voice said, “Long time no see, Miss Smith.”

Nora, “?”

“I never would have expected Miss Smith to be Yanci, the famous international car racer. The last time we met, we were in opposite circumstances, which ended in us parting on a bad impression. I wonder if we can get together and talk about partnering up for the car racing club.”

Nora raised her eyebrows. “Who are you?”

“…” The other party was clearly grinding her teeth in fury. “I’m Winston!”

“Who are you?” asked Nora.

Clearly, she had already forgotten who Winston was.

Winston, “…”

His voice became even stiffer. “I proposed to you before. Have you forgotten? My father is Jon Myers, from the traditional medicine industry.”

At last, Nora remembered her puny existence and uttered a distanced “oh.” Then she yawned and asked, “Is something wrong?”

“…”

Winston felt like he was about to break down. He could only force out one word after another and say, “Stop pretending, Miss Smith. I know you understand what I’m saying. Your fiancé is in my hands right now. You’d better come and meet me for a talk right now. Otherwise, I won’t be able to guarantee his safety.”

Her fiancé?

Nora clicked her tongue and said, “I have no fiancé.”

She hung up immediately after saying that, not thinking about how furious the man on the other end would be.

She had long since broken off her engagement, so how could she have a fiancé?

She was thinking about that when her cell phone rang. She looked down to see that the unknown number had sent her a short video.

The video showed a man tied up. He was in a dimly lit room. Light was coming in through a small window and illuminating his face. The man had glasses and looked very polite and refined. He was actually… Caleb Gray?

Beep.

Winston sent another text message, as well as an address. He wrote, “I’ll give you half an hour. Come right away. For every minute you’re late, I’ll cut off a finger.”

Nora, “…”

She massaged her temples. She knew Caleb had probably been implicated by her.

Besides, when Henry Smith had gone to the Andersons’ house to make a big fuss the other time, Caleb had presented as evidence an audio recording his mother had left at the time, and it had helped her reverse public opinion. When you thought about it that way, the Andersons actually owed the Grays a favor.

She looked at Pete and ruffled his hair. His voice was low and husky as he said, “Be a good boy and wait here for me.”

Pete nodded.

Nora stepped forward right after. After taking a couple of steps, she suddenly heard footsteps behind her. She turned around to see Justin following her. He said, “It’s not very nice that you’re going to meet your ex-fiancé right in front of me, is it, Miss Smith?”

Nora raised her eyebrows. “Ah, so I’m supposed to save him behind your back then?”

“…” Justin was silent but continued to follow at her side.

When the two left Quinn Martial Arts School, Nora went straight to her car. As she opened the door and climbed into the driver’s seat, Justin naturally climbed into the passenger seat as well.

The jeep was very large and roomy. Even with Nora’s height, she seemed small in the driver’s seat. However, when Justin sat in the passenger seat, it made the car ultimately still seem a bit small.

Nora was a little surprised. “You’re coming too?”

“Of course.”

Justin replied confidently, “How can I let you go on a date with your ex-fiancé?”

The corners of Nora’s lips curved upward and she said unhurriedly, “Don’t move.”

Practically the moment she said that, she stepped on the accelerator, sending the car whirring forward. It headed in the direction Winston had given it at the speed of light.

Inertia threw Justin against the seat and he grabbed the handlebars of the car door with his right hand. He looked at Nora: the woman seemed like a completely different person when she was driving. There was none of her usual laziness and carelessness, her serious demeanor seemed exceptionally charming.

Half an hour later…

Screeeeeeech!.

The car’s tires emitted a harsh screeching sound as they scraped against the road. Along with the sound, the car stopped inside a dilapidated abandoned factory.

When Nora jumped out of the car, someone was already waiting for her. Without even looking at Justin, the person said, “Come with me!”.

Nora followed the person, took a couple of steps and entered a room.

Caleb was sitting in a chair, all bundled up. His shirt was a little dirty and messy, there was dust on his usually clean face. His hair was in disarray, which actually gave off a sort of disheveled beauty.

Winston jumped in at this point.. He said, “Miss Smith, as long as you sign this contract to provide your services to the Quinlan Sect, I’ll let you go!”
