Before grading the exam, the tutor went so far as to say, âHeâs been obsessed with games for a month, so itâs understandable even if he gets a bad grade on the examâ¦â
After saying this, he looked at the multiple-choice questions in front of him.
Marking the multiple choice questions was very simple. He scrolled down and checked that the answers were exactly the same as those on the standard answer sheet. He was shocked.
Seeing that, Justin raised his eyebrows and asked, âHow did you do?â
The tutor looked at him incredulously. â⦠They are all correct.â
How could that be?
It was obvious that Peteâs comprehension level had regressed to that of a first grader a few days ago. Why had he improved out of nowhere again?
He was in charge of educational matters for the Huntsâ children, so he understood those kids the best.
When Peteâs level suddenly dropped, he had immediately panicked. He had wanted to use the test results to make Mr. Hunt realize the seriousness of the matter, but thisâ¦.
The tutor, incredulous, continued to mark the paperâ¦.
A small head suddenly appeared in the doorway during this time.
Justin peeked out and saw Fatty standing, looking at them. When he saw Justin approaching, he shrank back in fright. But then, he reared his fat head again. Fatty walked up to Justin and asked, âUncle Justin, did Pete do poorly on the test?â
He saw his uncle let out a sigh, then said, âLook what a horrible expression the tutor has. By rights, getting a bad grade once shouldnât matter, but Pete is a special case? Uncle Justin, you may not know it, but lately heâs been gambling every day and neglecting his studies! Iâve seen him use his cell phone quite a few times.â
Justin looked at the little boy.
The seven or eight year old boy was big and tall. He was a head taller than Pete, seemed very naïve and honest. However, the little boyâs intentions were written all over his face and Justin could see what he was thinking with just a glance.
The little boy wanted to outdo Pete.
The little boy had been totally duped by his uncleâs family.
Justin looked at Pete and coldly asked, âHow did you do on the test?â
Pete replied, âFine, I guess.â
Justin snorted and said, âIf you donât get the highest score, youâll have to kneel in the ancestral hall as punishment.â
Even if he had been sent to Nora, he, a boy Justin had personally raised and taught, had to be strict with himself and not slack off in his studies.
Pete replied with great assurance, ââ¦okay.â
Without a tutor to supervise him, his self-study speed had become even faster. Also, for some reason, when he was with Nora, he kept feeling that his mind had become clearer than before. His mother had a special scent that was very calming to him, making him not as sensitive and paranoid as before.
Justin nodded at her response.
Fatty looked at Justin and then at Pete.
The adult was expressionless, his eyes slightly narrowed, while the boy looked almost identical to the adult. Both father and son were so unfathomable that no one could guess their thoughts.
However.
Fattyâs eyes lit up. He suddenly came out of the office and called his grandfather. He said, âGrandpa, Pete screwed up the test this time! The tutor is correcting his test now.â
Raymond was immediately thrilled. âReally?â
âThatâs right, Grandpa! Uncle Justin is here right now, too. He even just said that Pete has to kneel in the ancestral hall as punishment if he doesnât get the highest score!â
âHa!â Raymond said, âIâm coming right now!â
After saying that, Raymond ran somewhere and yelled, âMom, hurry up and go take a look! Pete did badly on his test this time, so Justin wants to beat him up!â
Elderly Mrs. Hunt immediately panicked. âHelp me get over there right away, How can he beat up the boy just because he did badly in his exams?â
Was the great-grandmother coming too?
Fattyâs eyes lit up immediately â that would be even better! That way, Great-Grandma would also see how poorly her favorite Pete had done on the exam.
Fatty rushed into the classroom and shouted to all the Hunt children, âPete is dead meat this time! The tutor is correcting his test right now. Uncle Justin is here too.â
Upon hearing that Justin was also present, the kids were immediately excited.
He was the legend they loved the most!
He was also the legendary âsomeone elseâs sonâ their parents always talked about.
They had practically grown up hearing stories of Justin on their knees. Justin possessed the highest IQ of all the Hunts so far.
He had completed a double masterâs degree by the age of fifteen!
These feelings of adoration had also fallen upon Pete by association.
In everyoneâs eyes and hearts, Pete was a child who would never suffer any disciplinary spanking, AND Justin was no ordinary parent either!
But now, not only had Pete fallen from grace, but Justin was going to become a father who disciplined his son?
The little ones ran out of the classroom one by one. They gathered in front of the tutorâs office and peered inside through the window.
Justin, who wasnât talking, was sitting on the leather couch with a very powerful aura around him.
Pete was sitting on a bench with his little hands clasped together and muttering under his breath. From the look of him, he seemed to be memorizing some kind of formula. As for the tutor correcting the paper, he was frowning.
âDid Pete really do poorly on the exam? Look at that tutorâs eyebrows. Iâve only ever seen that look on his face when he talks to me!â said one boy who was the naughtiest and had the worst marks of all the Huntsâ children.
At that moment a commotion broke out at the entrance. Raymond, who was supporting Elder Mrs. Hunt, approached. As soon as he entered, the old lady shouted, âWho dares to beat my little Pete?â
Raymond also stepped forward. He smiled and said, âJustin, whatâs the problem with a child doing badly on a test just once? How can you be so strict with him? Pete is still young. Besides, he is ultimately sensitive with autism. Given that he just recently perked up, itâs inevitable that his studies will be delayedâ¦. Anyway, itâs not like heâs a genius. How can a child play every day and still do well in his studies?
âPlay?â
Mrs. Hunt gasped.
Raymond took the opportunity to complain, âYes, thatâs right. Itâs our fault. Lately Pete is addicted to gaming every day. Gee, Fatty plays games to cultivate the mind and spirit, but he knows he should play in moderation. Pete, on the other hand, doesnât get it. Fatty has already warned him several times, but he refuses to listenâ¦â
Raymond bluntly portrayed Pete as a child with little self-control.
Mrs. Hunt frowned and looked around: all the children had their ears perked up. In a few days, news of Peteâs mediocre aptitude would reach every parentâs ears.
How could such a child possibly take over the family business?
Mrs. Hunt immediately understood Raymondâs intentions. She also hated herself for coming in to make the matter bigger. However, since things had already reached this point, she had no choice but to brace herself and move on.
She walked into the office cheerfully and said, âSo our little Pete has been playing for a month? Itâs no big deal, is there anyone who wasnât playful when they were young? I donât think itâs necessary to publicly announce the scores anymore. Anyway, none of the elementary schools publicly announce student scores these days!â
By this time, the tutor had finished grading all the tests. He raised his head uncomprehendingly and looked at Mrs. Hunt and Raymond.
Raymond, however, stepped forward and said with a smile, âHow can we do that? Pete gets the highest score every time. I want Fatty to learn from him. Quick, sir, show me the grade Pete got.â
He pulled out Peteâs test sheet.
