When he saw the report, Joel held his breath. He finally knew the reason. The person who had controlled the Smiths for many years was now lowering his head like a child who had done something wrong. He anxiously explained, âMan, Iâ¦â
Thump!
Ian threw the report to the floor as if venting his anger. Then, he closed his eyes tightly as his chest heaved rapidly.
Seeing him like this, Joel became very nervous. He stepped forward again. âUncle, I didnât let you see him because I was afraid you would get angry. Please calm downâ¦â
Ian took a few deep breaths before suppressing the anger in his chest. His fingers trembled slightly. âYou shouldnât have kept it from me.â
Joel sighed. âI was afraid your body couldnât take it.â
Ian closed his eyes. âThat wasnât why you kept it from me.â
Joel lowered his head respectfully and said nothing more.
After a moment, Ian motioned for him to leave. Joel looked at him and turned to leave the room.
He walked out the door. At that moment, Quentin stepped forward and asked, âHowâs Third Uncle?â
Joel looked at him with a frown.
Quentin immediately waved his hand and said, âDonât look at me like that. Third Uncle wanted me to report to you, I couldnât defy you.â
The entire Smith family was able to get to this stage because of Ian.
Ianâs status in the family could be seen in Joelâs attitude. Although he had retired from power many years ago, no one in the Smith family dared to disrespect him, as they all knew Ianâs methods back then.
Joel took a deep breath. âItâs okay.â
Quentin was relieved to see that he wasnât being held accountable.
After a while, he suddenly asked, âWhat should we do now? That Nora⦠Should we take her home?â.
Joel frowned and gave him an uneasy look. âWeâll wait for Third Uncle to decide, what we have to do now is to find Anti!â.
ââ¦Yes.â

Nora took Cherry to her house. After she went inside, she went upstairs to wash up and get ready for bed. Cherry quietly climbed into her bed and looked at her with a pair of dark eyes full of resentment.
Nora yawned and asked, âIf you have something to say, say it.â
Cherry sighed and held her chin with both hands. âMom, did you forget something?â
Nora raised her eyebrows. âWhat?â
Cherry sighed again like a villain. âDid you help me look for my Grandfather Sponsor?â
Nora, â?â
She seemed to have really forgotten about this.
At first, she thought it was just a game between children and would be over in two days. She hadnât expected him to be so persistent. Nora stretched lazily and said, âIâm tired today. Iâll help you find him tomorrow.â
Cherry, ââ¦â
She got out of bed quietly and headed for the study room. She pulled out her cell phone and called Solo, who was overseas. âHey Uncle Solo!â
âCherry, whatâs up?â It was clear that Solo was still sleepy.
Cherry asked, âCan you do me a favor?â
Solo asked unconsciously, âWhereâs your mother, why is she looking for me?â
âSheâs sleeping.â
â⦠Okay, I understand.â
After telling Solo her request, Cherry streamed for a while. The second best, Dad Sponsor, came to her live stream as usual and gave her some money. He even asked her what she had for dinner.
Cherry replied, âI had soup dumplings. Auntieâs cooking is too delicious.â
JH: âYes. Has your mother eaten?â
Cherry replied, âNo, she is sleeping.â
JH: ââ¦â

The next day, Cherry woke up in the morning and sent a message to Solo asking for her Grandfather Sponsor.
Unfortunately, Soloâs reply disappointed her.
[I didnât get through the other sideâs firewall â do you think Iâm that slick].
Cherry could only hang up her phone in silence. She headed for the kindergarten she hadnât attended in a long time.
Kindergarten.
âMiss Lily, do you feel that Cherry has been much quieter lately?â asked Miss Lynn worriedly to the other teacher in her class.
Miss Lily nodded immediately. âHave you noticed it too? In the past, Cherry had always been very cheerful. She always smiled at everyone and spoke sweetly. But now, she seems to have become much quieter. Is it because Terence has said he doesnât have a father? Has he suffered a stroke?â
Miss Lynn immediately said, âWhy donât we get the garden doctor to give him a psychotherapy session later?â
âI think itâs very necessary!â
As the two chatted, Tanya arrived with Cherry.
The little girl was wearing a little dress. She pranced as she walked, and her short hair bobbed up and down with her movements. She was lively and adorable like a little sunshine.
The moment she walked in and saw the two teachers, Cherry held out her hand and greeted them. âHello, Miss Lynn~ Your earrings today are really beautiful! They make your face look so small.â
Miss Lynn was overjoyed.
Then Cherry said to Miss Lily, âMiss Lily, have you lost weight again? This dress is getting looser!â
Miss Lily, who was on a diet and feeling depressed from hunger, also felt more energetic after hearing this.
After greeting them, Cherry jumped into the classroom, leaving the two teachers looking at each other and smiling.
âCherry is fine!â
âI donât think she needs to see that shrink anymore!â

In the classroom.
As soon as Cherry entered the classroom, the children around her surrounded her.
Cherry was very happy to see her friends, whom she hadnât seen in a few days.
But the children were worried about her.
âCherry, have you offended Terence again? He said your father is not Justin and heâs going to teach you a lesson today.â
âCherry, youâre in trouble! Jimmy has a good temper and Terence is famous for being a devil incarnate! Jimmyâs father has only raised one man-eating tiger, but Terenceâs father has raised several!â
âIâve also heard that Terenceâs father would stuff a bunch of rats into a personâs stomach and let them crawl out. It would be so painful Iâd rather die.â
âCherry, youâre in big trouble!â
Just as everyone was arguing fervently, Terence suddenly appeared in the classroom doorway.
When they saw him, everyone instantly became nervous and stood in front of Cherry.
âTerence, you canât bully Cherry!â
âEven if Cherryâs father isnât Justin, you canât bully her!â
âYes, Mia was the one who said Cherryâs father was Justin. If you want to blame someone, then blame Mia!â
âHmph, sheâs bullying Cherry because she doesnât dare bully Mia!â
Cherry, who was being protected by everyone, was speechless.
She blinked and patted the students in front of her. âGet out of the way. Iâm fine!â
The students, however, were concerned.
âNo, Terence is half a head taller than you. You canât beat him!â
âLetâs go get the teacher!â
âCherry donât be afraid!â
Amidst the studentsâ chatter, Terenceâs lips twitched.
He had only come to apologize and not to eat her. Was there any need to be so agitated?
