“… Okay, let’s go.”

Seeing Nora looking at him expectantly, Pete gave a resigned response. To be honest, he wasn’t much interested in such things.

However, it was rare to see Mom interested in anything other than sleep, so he would just tag along.

Pete went to the garden.

Jimmy was still hospitalized, so he didn’t come to class. The kids were still very worried about Pete.

“Cherry, Jimmy is still not well. His mother won’t leave your mother alone. You need to be careful.”

The corners of his lips twitched a little. He was about to speak when Mia said, “Don’t worry. Cherry will be fine, yes!”

“Why?”

“Because Cherry’s father is Justin Hunt! Jimmy’s dad is afraid of Cherry’s dad!” replied Mia innocently.

“Really?”

The other adorable children complimented her one by one.

“You found your dad Cherry, that’s great!”

“Wow Cherry, so you have a daddy. I always thought you didn’t have one. Did your mom give birth to you with a rock?”

“Huh, didn’t Cherry get her mommy with her groceries? When I asked mom who Cherry’s dad was, she said her mom got her for free when she bought something.”

Pete was at a loss for words as he saw how everyone was off topic.

However, there were also those who didn’t buy it. They asked, “Cherry, is your father really Justin Hunt?”

Pete wanted to deny it, but when he met Mia’s innocent eyes, he could only silently reply, “I guess you could say that.”

As Justin’s son, Pete had always taken his safety very seriously since he was a baby.

He didn’t have any bodyguards here, so he wasn’t to expose his identity so lightly.

At last the doorbell rang and the children dispersed.

Mia sat down next to Pete and asked quietly, “Don’t you like your father, Cherry?”

Pete nodded. “Yes, the tyrant is very fierce.”

Mia rested her chin on her hands and said, “Your father won’t be so fierce anymore if you become a girl~.”

Pete was taken aback. “Why?” he asked.

Mia looked at him and replied, “Because that’s what my father says. He says that girls should be spoiled and brought up lovingly. You must have gone to your father as a child, right?”.

Pete, “?”

So the tyrant was so strict and hard on him because he was a boy?

After class.

A few kids from the upper grade came to the class.

The person leading them was very large and well built, giving him a very dominant look. A few followed him.

The difference in height between kids who were even only a year older was very apparent. Also, Pete had always been in pretty poor health all these years because he had stopped breathing once when he was a baby, so he was about the same height as Cherry. Therefore, those kids were a whole half a head taller than Pete.

They gathered in front of Pete. The one leading them nudged Pete and said, “I hear you bullied Jimmy. I’m very glad to hear it.”

Pete frowned. “I didn’t.”

“What didn’t you do, do you know who I am?” The burly boy said, “My father is Paul Quinlan. He’s an enemy of Jimmy’s father. It makes me happy that you bullied him! I hereby announce that you can be my little sidekick from now on.”

Pete, “?”

He looked lazily at the person in front of him, dodged him on one side and said, “I’m not interested.”

The boy immediately grabbed him by the sleeve and said, “You’re Cherry Smith, aren’t you? Don’t you dare think I’m not going to hit you just because you’re a girl. You know it’s a great honor to be my partner? I hear you don’t have a father, do you? Do you know who my father is?”

Pete, “Do I?”

The boy slapped his chest and said, “My name is Terence Quinlan, and my father, Paul Quinlan, is even more awesome than Jordan Hoffman! That’s pretty amazing! If you decide to follow me, you won’t have to fear Jimmy’s dad anymore! You can ask the people behind me: who doesn’t know I’m the most awesome around these parts?”

Pete, “…”

Mia stepped forward and said, “Terence, you can’t bully Cherry!”.

Terence looked at her and curved his lip in disdain. He said, “Go away, invalid! It’s only because of your father that I don’t hold it against you. Otherwise I would have beaten you up long ago.”

As he spoke, he shoved Mia and said, “Invalid! My father said that, out of everyone in the kindergarten, your father is the only one to whom he shows some courtesy, so he told me not to bully you. But everyone else has to listen to me! Did I hear that your father has kicked your mother out? Now you are a motherless child! Your father will marry another woman after this. When they have a few children, you’ll become an illegitimate daughter, AND your father won’t care about you anymore!”

Mia stumbled backwards a few steps before she finally steadied herself.

Hearing that her mother had been kicked out and that she would become an illegitimate child, Mia’s eyes reddened and she said, “That’s not true. Don’t talk nonsense.”

Pete frowned and stepped in front of Mia. He said, “Apologize to her!”.

Terence scoffed, “Who do you think you are? You don’t even have a father. What makes you think I should listen to you and apologize to her?”.

Pete was about to speak when Brandon rushed in, “Terence, her father is Justin Hunt! He’s someone even your father can’t afford to offend.”

A look of disbelief appeared on Terence’s chubby face. Then he let out a laugh and said, “Are you daydreaming? Justin Hunt…? Don’t you even think a little before you brag? Or do you think you can scare me with a few words? I’m not a three or four year old anymore.”

Mia pouted and said, “Your father is really Justin Hunt!”.

Terence scoffed, “That’s impossible! My dad says Justin Hunt only has one son, and he keeps him super protected. He carries bodyguards everywhere and no one can see what he looks like. Cherry is a girl, so how could she possibly be Justin Hunt’s child?”

Mia snapped and argued, “Cherry is a boy today!”.

Terence immediately burst into loud, raucous laughter. He said, “By the way, didn’t they say Cherry can turn into a boy? I can’t believe they’d believe something like that! They’re so naive! So, Cherry Smith, your father is Justin Hunt, right, do you dare call him right now?”

“Why not?”

Without a second thought, Brandon rushed to Pete’s side and said, “Cherry, call your father right now!”
