Mrs. Hoffman was startled to hear that. She frowned and asked, âWhat happened, did she wake up scared again?â.
After saying that, she didnât allow herself the luxury of bothering Nora any longer, so she turned and walked out.
Jordan followed close behind them as well. Jimmy was his only son after all, so he cared a lot about him.
Nora wanted to follow them up the stairs but was prevented. Someone said, âYou canât go upstairs Miss Smith!â.
Noraâs brows furrowed and she was quite anxious.
It was a life or death moment.
g Ɐ ln Ï Î½ð® âsâ¤com, where stories thrive Nora could no longer afford to worry so much. She reached out, hooked her arm around the manâs and pulled him tightly at once. She threw him over her shoulder and threw him to the ground.
The rest of the thugs rushed toward her one by one at the sight of her.
Nora reached out and kicked one of them away. The man, who had been thrown to the side, blocked the rest of the people rushing towards her, allowing her to run upstairs.
As soon as she got upstairs, she heard Mrs. Hoffman shout loudly, âJimmy! Jimmy, wake up! Wake up!â
The nanny next to her was also screaming in anguish, âJimmy, Jimmyâ¦! Whatâs wrong Mrs. Hoffman?â
Jordan yelled, âGet out of the way! Call 911! Hurry!â
Noraâs eyes widened in horror. She rushed to the bedroom and saw Jimmy lying on a clean bed in the brightly lit room. He was foaming at the mouth and convulsing.
Mrs. Hoffman touched his forehead and exclaimed, âWhy is he so hot? Jordan, hurry and call 911.â
Nora rushed over anxiously. Jordan, who was on the phone, noticed her. He frowned immediately and was about to speak when Nora sidestepped him and stood next to Jimmyâs bed.
Jordan was furious. âYouâ¦â
But before he could finish, Nora coldly commanded, âGet out of the way!â
Mrs. Hoffman gasped.
Nora held her by the arm. Then, she looked at the nanny and ordered, âGet me some diluted alcohol to bring her temperature down.â
Then she immediately lifted Jimmyâs eyelids skillfully and checked his eyes: the boyâs pupils were already dilating. He could no longer afford to worry so much. She immediately took a pill out of her pocket, tore off the foil and handed it to Jimmy.
Mrs. Hoffman finally came to her senses at that moment. She ran up to her and shouted, âWhat have you been feeding Jimmy?â
Nora looked at her coldly. âIf you keep stopping me, your son will die!â
Her calm, firm voice and her words made Mrs. Hoffmanâs jaw drop.
Seeing that he finally wasnât coming any closer, Nora took the diluted alcohol from the nanny and physically cooled the childâs temperature.
The bodyguards at the door rushed up at that moment and said, âMr. Hoffman! Nora, sheâ¦â
Before he could finish, he was stunned to see Nora repeatedly torturing Jimmy.
Jordan, red-eyed, looked at Nora menacingly. Suddenly, however, he said, âLet her do it. Nora, if anything happens to my son, I wonât let you get away.â
The bodyguards finally withdrew.
At last the long-awaited ambulance arrived. By the time the paramedics got in, Jimmy had already fallen into a deep sleep. His breathing had also become much more even and his appearance was much better.
Concerned for their son, Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman hurried to follow them to the ambulance.
Only after entering the ambulance did they realize that Nora had already left at some point. Mrs. Hoffman frowned. âWhy is she gone?â
The nanny replied, âIt seems she only left after she saw that the ambulance was here.â
Mrs. Hoffman bit her lip.
Jordan said, âSheâs fine. He may be gone, but his house is still there. If anything happens to Jimmy, Iâll look for the Andersons.â
Mrs. Hoffman nodded. She gritted her teeth and said, âThereâs also the garden. He can run, but he canât hide. Besides, even if you saved Jimmyâs life, he was sick because of you!â
Jordan nodded.
The group finally arrived at the hospital. When the doctor arrived, Jimmy was already awake and mumbling that he had a headache.
A nurse said, âDoctor, he had already been given professional first aid when we went there. That person also told me that the patient should have a lumbar punctureâ.
A lumbar punctureâ¦
Something clicked in the doctorâs head instantly and he said, âDonât bother doing the brain CT and MRI for now. Do a lumbar puncture right now.â
âYes sir!â
After the staff took Jimmy away, the doctor also left to attend to his duties.
At dawn, the doctor finally emerged from the room as he wiped away his sweat. Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman immediately approached him and asked, âDoctor, how is my son?â
The doctor took a deep breath and eagerly took their hand. He asked, âWho gave the child first aid? What exactly did you feed him?â
Mrs. Hoffman immediately flew into a rage. âWhatâs the matter, did something bad happen because of what they fed him? Ahhh!!!!! Iâm going to kill her.â
Jordan panicked as well. She asked, âDoctor, what exactly is going on, is there something wrong with that pill? My son was having seizures because she scared him so much.â
The doctor was dumbfounded at how agitated they both were. He said, âSeizures from a scare? What nonsense! The child has acute meningitis! If it wasnât for the person who saved him in time, the boy would probably be dead now!â
The doctor continued, âIâm very curious about the medicine you gave the child. And to think itâs so amazing! The fever had already come down by the time the child was sent to the hospital. His condition had also stabilized for the most part by then. They basically saved his life.â

At the Andersonâs.
By the time Nora got home after all the commotion the night before, it was already one oâclock in the morning.
After washing up, she slept until noon the next day, where she was awakened by banging on the downstairs door.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The pounding on the door was deafening, as if some underworld force was at her door.
Nora got out of bed lazily. The moment she stepped out of her bedroom, she saw Logan rushing down the stairs. She went to the door and opened it. When he saw Jordan, who was wearing a thick gold chain around his neck, standing in the doorway, he was completely taken aback. âMr. Hoffman, what are you doing here?â
Jordan stared at Logan. After a long silence, he finally asked, âWhereâs Nora Smith?â
Logan narrowed his eyes. He blocked the passage immediately and said, âMr. Hoffman, sheâs just a woman. Come see me if you want something.â
Jordan thought about what his subordinates had reported to him the night before: she had beaten up five or six of them by herself and rushed down the stairs after that. The corners of his lips twitched slightly and he replied, âSheâs not just any woman.â
Loganâs incomprehension deepened even more. He said, âWhat part of her is not ordinary? Mr. Hoffman, come to me if thereâs anything you wantâ¦â
However, the men behind Jordan pushed him away. The group entered the villa with great momentum, so alarming Elderly Mrs. Anderson upstairs that even she came out and asked, âWhatâs going on? Huh? Loganâ¦â
Loganâs eyebrows drew together tightly as he watched Jordan walk toward Nora, who was upstairs.
The woman even yawned-obviously, she had just woken up and was completely unaware that danger was descending upon her!
She immediately rushed forward anxiously to stop them, butâ¦.
