The door to the room then closed. However, you could still vaguely hear the conversation inside:
Lisa said, âDad, Nora isâ¦â
âDonât say her name! How did your mother treat her? She treated her like she was her own, but how is she any different from Henry now? He clings so stubbornly to the company and stands idly by while your mother dies!â
Irene said, âDonât say that about Nora. Sheâs not doing anything because she knows itâs useless even if she sheds the company. Donât take your anger out on someone elseâ¦â
âI know, but I feel so bad when I see her so indifferent!â Suddenly, Will couldnât take it anymore and began to cry bitterly.
Nora, who was outside, could feel his helplessness and anger even through the glass windows.
âDonât you feel bad?â
Henry stood behind her. âFor the sake of a company, are you really going to scorn your auntâs life?â
Their squabbling here was too noisy, and had attracted a circle of onlookers.
Nora looked down and sent a text message to Lisa on her cell phone, telling her to get ready and that someone would be coming to operate on her aunt in a few days.
After sending the text message, she ignored Henry and the othersâ anger and turned around to leave quietly.
Nearby.
Justin stayed there with Lawrence. A relative had been hospitalized today, so he had come especially to visit. However, he had not expected to encounter such a situation.
Lawrence said, âThe Smiths are certainly shameless, but isnât she a bit too insensitive? No wonder she seems so insensitive.â
Justin frowned and said, âCheck to see if anything can be done about her auntâs illness.â
It wasnât hard at all to find out. By the time they were in the car and back at the hotel, he had figured it all out.
âHer condition is indeed difficult to operate on. There are only two experts in the United States who can do it, but the success rate is only 50%. Coincidentally, both experts are currently working in our hospitals.â
ââ¦â
Seeing that the icy Justin didnât speak, Lawrence couldnât help but say, âIf Miss Smith knows what sheâs doing, sheâll take the opportunity to approach you.â
When the car arrived at the Finest Hotel, as luck would have it, Justin saw Nora getting out of the cab. Also, when he noticed her car, he stayed where he was and didnât enter the hotel.

Nora had seen them.
She didnât understand what was going on. Evidently, she had nothing to do with that four or five year old boy, but she couldnât help but feel uncomfortable the moment she thought his guardians were abusing him.
They misunderstood and thought she was chasing him this morning. If I go now, Iâll be seen as a stalker.
Nora lowered her catlike eyes slightly. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Justin walking past her, surrounded by bodyguards.
Nora suddenly spoke up. She said, âI have something to tell you, Mr. Hunt.â
As expected.
Justin stopped and looked deeply at her. His exquisite features gave off an aggressive air of heroism, and the mole in the corner of his eye gave off a sense of slight interest. âWhat can I do for you, Miss Smith?â
Heâd already given her a chance, so sheâd probably start pleading pitifully, wouldnât she?
In a slightly gravelly voice, Nora asked, âAre your sonâs tutors professional, Mr. Hunt?â
She had only heard what the tutors said in the elevator, and hadnât seen anything with her own eyes, so she had no way of judging whether or not their words were true. Therefore, she merely gave him a subtle reminder.
Justin frowned, however.
Why was she keeping silent about the doctors and talking about the tutors instead? Was it because she was too embarrassed to ask him about it, so she decided to talk about something else first?
Justin was a straightforward man, so he cut to the chase. He asked, âDo you need me to introduce you to two doctors, Ms. Smith? Do you want to talk to Dr. Lane or Dr. Wright?â
Nora was confused.
Although Dr. Lane and Dr. Wright were the most famous neurosurgeons in America, the success rate was only 50% if they operated on her aunt. Why would she go to them?
Besides, she was talking about the tutors, so why was she bringing up the doctors?
Nora replied impatiently, âNo, I donât care. Please show more concern for your son instead if he is free.â
If the guardians were really abusing him, then the responsibility would fall on Justin alone. He must have been neglecting the child.
For some inexplicable reason, he got a little angry, as if it was his son who was being abused.
She left immediately after saying that.
Justin looked at her from behind with a slightly stunned expression, but quickly came to his senses. Anger welled up in him and his countenance turned a little colder.
Lawrence couldnât help but say, âI had thought that Miss Smith was so indifferent to her aunt only because she was at the end of her rope. I hadnât expected her to actually let her die. Sheâs too heartless.â
Without the surgery, her aunt was doomed.
However, if she had the surgery, she would at least have a 50-50 chance of survival.
The choice was obvious. But was that woman really so crazy and heartless, so much so that she had rejected her kindness?
Forget it, he was simply accepting that he had unnecessarily meddled in someone elseâs business and had misjudged her!
Justin entered the elevator with a sullen look on his face.
In the presidential suite on the top floor.
Cherry crept back into the room. She was about to enter the study when she turned and saw a stern-faced woman walking toward her with a ruler in her hand. The woman said to her viciously, âHow dare you lounge around somewhere else when you havenât finished your homework, Pete? Judging by how stupid and foolish you look, you must have gone out to your mother. Oh, wait, thatâs not quite right because youâre a motherless little bastard. Reach out your hand; Iâm going to teach you a good lesson today!â
Cherry was confused.
How dare she insult her mother? And even hit her brother?
The gentle girl immediately transformed into the hot-tempered child of her playtime. With her hands on her hips, she was about to return the insults to the tutor when the door suddenly opened.
She turned to see her handsome father, who had the potential to be bossy, cold, loving or reassuring, striding in.
Cherry immediately forgot what had just happened. Her small frame leapt forward as if it had wings, but it was at that moment that the tutor grabbed her arm.
Justin took off his jacket after entering. As usual, the first thing he did was ask how his son was doing. âHow was Pete today?â
The tutor sighed. âHe didnât do his homework again. Since he didnât reinforce what he learned, he doesnât understand when we delve into more complicated subjects. He is very stubborn and refuses to listen to us. As a result, his progress is now behind his cousin by two semesters of lessons!â
A concerned Justin frowned as he listened to her report. Although his sonâs IQ was excellent, he was introverted and autistic, he had trouble expressing himself. He really didnât know how he should communicate with him!
She walked over to Cherry, squatted down to look at him, and patiently asked, âWhy havenât you done your homework?â
Wow, looking at him closely, Daddy looks even more handsome now!
Cherry couldnât answer him for a moment.
Seeing her silent, the tutor secretly scoffed. He was indeed a jerk who didnât cry, or make trouble, or know how to complain about others.
Relieved, she began to spin more lies. âWeâre really at the end of our rope, Mr. Hunt. We canât discipline or reprimand you, so your only option is to employ certain special methods of education now.â
Cherry, who at the time was captivated by her fatherâs good looks, thought to herself, âWhat, they couldnât discipline or scold me?â
