â«ï¸Nick's POV...
Did I just find out my rough, tough, pain-in-the-ass bro is now a pookie, all dreamy-eyed over a girl? Oh yeah, that happened. And because heâs the stubborn ass he is, of course, he wonât admit it. Dude could be caught writing âMrs. Stella Knightâ on his arm, and heâd still deny it.
Think, Nick, think. Gotta make him confess. I glanced at Liamâour sunshine boy over there smiling like heâs won the lottery. But thatâs how brotherhood looks like. A supportive, lovey-dovey cheerleader.
Then thereâs Chris. The supposed âKing of poker faces.â Except right now, heâs blushing so hard Iâm tempted to check if heâs got a fever. Oh, heâs fucked. Really fucked. Loverboy is down bad, and itâs embarrassing. I pulled out my phone and shot a quick text to MJ because good news spreads fast.
Me: "Yo, big news. Loverboy Chris hurt his knee falling for Stella. Let Ava know sheâs probably getting a real sister-in-law soon."
MJ: "Wtf? OMG, heâs cooked behind my back. Iâm telling Ava rn!"
I stifled a laugh. Poor Chris is so whipped, and he doesnât even know it.
When we reached at the mansion, I didnât even wait a second before heading to Stellaâs room. If I didnât tease her right now, my day would feel incomplete. She was on her bed, typing furiously on her laptop, probably working on that novel she refuses to let anyone read.
I flopped onto her sofa like it was my throne. âYo.â
She glanced up, raising an eyebrow. âYouâre back already?â
âYup. And youâre done working.â
Her fingers froze mid-typing. âWhat do you want, Nick?â
I smirked. âTo talk. Now, close that laptop and focus on me.â
She sighed but obeyed, sitting cross-legged on the bed with a look that said, This better be good.
âAlright, Stella, this is serious. Like, really serious.â I leaned forward, clasping my hands together like I was about to interrogate her.
Her eyes narrowed. âWhatâs going on?â
âJust answer me honestly. No dodging, no running, and definitely no throwing things at me.â
âIâm not promising anything.â
âFair enough. First questionâdo you have feelings for anyone?â
Her answer came out so fast it was almost suspicious. âNo.â
âReally? Not even a tiny crush?â
âNo.â
I nodded, playing along. âGood. That clears that up. Now, letâs get to the real question. What about Christian?â
âI think heâs the topmost asshole of the world,â she blurted out, crossing her arms defensively.
âOkay, no joking around. This is serious. Tell me what you actually think about him. Like, feelings and love and all that shit.â
âAre you out of your damn mind?â she sputtered, her cheeks already starting to turn pink.
âJust answer the question.â
âI donât!â she shot back, but the blush betrayed her.
I raised an eyebrow. âYou sure? Not even a little something-something?â
She crossed her arms, her blush deepening. âHeâs... heâs just hot, okay? Like, stupidly hot. And maybe a little handsome. And, fine, okay, his jawline is unfairly perfect. And he has this... aura or whatever. But thatâs it!â
I burst out laughing. âSo there are chances you might like him?â
She groaned, covering her face with her hands. âNo way. And why am I even talking to you?â
âBecause Iâm the fun one,â I said, shrugging. Then I dropped the bomb. âAnyway, Christian likes you.â
She froze. Her hands slowly slid down from her face, revealing wide eyes and a mouth hanging open like a fish gasping for air. âWhat?â
âChristian. Likes. You,â I repeated, drawing out each word for maximum effect.
âYouâre lying.â
âNope.â
âYouâre messing with me.â
âNot this time.â
She blinked rapidly, her blush spreading to her neck. âNo way. Thereâs absolutely no way.â
I leaned back, grinning like a cat with a bowl of cream. âOh, thereâs definitely a way. Heâs all googly-eyed and moody because of you. Guyâs a goner. So, whatâs it gonna be, Stella? You gonna admit you like him back, or are you just gonna keep lying to yourself?â
Her mouth opened and closed a few times before she finally grabbed a pillow and chucked it at my face. âGet out, Nick!â
I dodged it, laughing as I got up. âJust think about it, lover's girl. Christian Knight might just be your prince charming.â
âOut!â
I left the room with a grin plastered on my face. Mission accomplished. Stella was definitely blushing, and this chaos was far from over.
