Ch. 115 Entire Breadth of His Literary Skills (1)
Louiseâs eyes locked onto the court official, and time seemed to grind to a halt. The officialâs startled expression slowly turned into a smile, and he lifted a finger to his lips as if to say, âQuiet.â Then he pointed towards Ian.
âDoes he mean not to tell the President?â
Or perhapsâ
âHe means heâs going to keep it a secret.â
Or maybe it was just her hopeful thinking.
âNo. It could mean that heâs going to leave quietly now to write it down.â
That was a disaster-level scenario. Louiseâs first impression in history would be enormous.
Kissing.
The young official would probably use the entire breadth of his literary skills to portray the scene as vividly as he could.
ââ¦Well.â
While Louiseâs mind was swirling about the appearance court official, a languid voice murmured against her lips.
âWhat am I missing?â
He pulled away and leaned his forehead over Louiseâs shoulder. His hand, which seemed like it would never let her go, finally loosened its grip.
ââ¦Huh?â
Ian heaved a sigh.
âWell, I am a man of humility, and I donât expect to be good from the start.â
âHoo, thatâs a good attitude.â
âRight?â
âYes, for the crown prince who receives everyoneâs attention.â
âI donât want everyoneâs attention. I just.â
His sigh became heavier.
â â¦.I thought I should be able to kiss you well enough so that I donât lose your attention.â
âMy attentionâ¦?â
âYes. I hoped that I could at least satisfy you.â
He wrapped his arms around Louiseâs waist again.
âNow I realize that my kisses are too terrible to hold your attention.â
He called that terrible? No, how could he say that! The male lead is good at anything he does, even for the first time!
âOf course, since Iâm still new to this I have to be a bit more motivated.â
âA-ah no, President, itâs not bad at allââ
He was doing great. She could probably turn into cotton candy from her shoulders to her legs and simply melt.
âItâs alright, you donât have to console me. I have the will to improve.â
âIf you improve from here, then that will be even more dangerousâ¦â
Louise muttered to herself, and Ian looked down at her.
âHmm?â
âNothing!â
âAnyway, if thereâs anything I can improve on, please tell me. Thereâs no one else to let me know.â
âY-you donât need to improve at all. Youâre doing great.â
Louise answered him awkwardly, touching his arm that was around her waist.
This was beyond mortifying. It was especially mortifying to compliment someone else on their kissing skills too.
âAre you sure youâre alright?â
Louise nodded vigorously, but he still looked doubtful.
âThat canât be true.â
His brow gently wrinkled, and he leaned so that their foreheads were touching together.
âI could tell with my own eyes that you were thinking of something else entirely.â
âI-Iâ! â
Louise hastily tried to think of an excuse. Perhaps it was better not to tell him that they were caught by the court official, and the court official would let go of it quietly.
â â¦IâI just didnât know what to do.â
âYou mean you were uncomfortable?â
There was concern etched on his features, and Louise quickly shook her head.
âIn a good way! I mean, it was so good that I didnât know what to doâ¦â
âWhile Iâm happy that thatâs what you were thinking about, Iâm not really sure what to do from here.â
Louise suddenly felt guilty, as Ian seemed genuinely troubled.
âIâm sorry I didnât focus on kissing.â
ââ¦Now thatâs worse.â
âBut Iâll do better next time! So if thereâs anything I need to improve on, please let me know!â
âYouâre going to improve from here?â
He shook his head gently, dropping his forehead. Something scary must have crossed his mind.
âI disagree.â
âWhy? Didnât you like it?â
âThe problem is that youâre so good. My patience is strong, of course. But sometimesâ¦â
âSometimes it doesnât hold.â
âYes. Like the time I kissed your forehead when I wasnât your lover.â
âAnd the time you gulped after seeing my back.â
âThat was an instance of strong patience.â
ââ¦!â
What the hell is this guy! If that was patience, then what was he like when he didnât have it?
Ian let out a short chuckle as Louise fixed him with an incredulous stare.
âAnyway.â
He changed the subject in a calmer tone.
âIâll try my best.â
Louise found that wholly unnecessary, but for some reason she didnât want to stop his efforts.
âDoes that mean Iâm becoming a pervert like he isâ¦â
Now the pervert has to pay taxes to the pervert. What should she do about this shameful state of ruin?
âYouâreâ¦youâre thinking about something else.â
âAh, no!â
Louise quickly denied it, but Ian didnât look like he believed her.
âWhat are we supposed to do with this bubbly brain of yours? Is there no way to tie up your thoughts like tying up your body?â
âY-you pervert!â
âItâs okay. I wonât do it anyone elseâ¦â
âOf course you wonât! And you wonât do it to me either!â
ââ¦â
âB-besides, you canât tie other peopleâs thoughts in the first place.â
âIs that so?â
He had a look of disappointment as he pressed his lips against her head.
â â¦Thatâs too bad.â
When he said that, she felt like she was being bound up by evil spirits.
