I looked behind me, startled. Knowing him was easy enough as knowing a best friend.

I shook my head and opened the door to find her in a sitting position; her head looked limp and her hair was a mess. Her arms were at each side, not moving an inch while her legs were brought up to her chest.

I gave her a small nudge. Anna muttered softly, "Mom, dejame dormir.." Since I knew very little Spanish, thanks to Michael, I translated it to "Mom, let me sleep."

I gave her another nudge and she stirred. Her eyes widened and she backed up against the corner of the closet wall. "How do I know it's you?" She asked, tears forming.

It took me a second to realize that she saw two "versions" of me; my abusive side and my calm side.

"Hey, hey, it's okay.. Look into my eyes," I said softly, hoping not to scare her. She visibly relaxed and began to go towards me. "Hey.. It's ok, ok?" I asked as I tilted her head upwards. Anna nodded as tears then began to fall.

"I wanna go home, Nate.. Please.." She said, crying. If I wasn't cursed by him, this whole situation wouldn't have happened.

"Do you want me to help you get into bed?" I asked, worried. She tiredly nodded and grabbed my hand. I gave her a small smile and helped her get up.

After I helped her get in bed, I went outside to the stairs. I smiled softly as the door softly clicked.

My small moment of kindness was over when a sharp pain suddenly shot up my arm. Hobbling over to the bathroom so that I wouldn't wake her up, I closed the door and let out a scream.

"Kasoor, what was that for?!" I hissed, collapsing to the tile floor.

"𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕡𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕀 𝕥𝕠𝕝𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕟𝕠𝕥 𝕥𝕠, 𝕓𝕦𝕥 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕠?! ℍ𝕦𝕙??" He snarled, his eyes red with seething anger.

"You didn't tell me anything," I said, my vision blurred from the lack of sleep. In response, he grabbed my now bruised arm. " 𝕐𝕖𝕤 𝕀 𝕕𝕚𝕕.. 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕓𝕝𝕠𝕨 𝕥𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕙𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕒 𝕗𝕦𝕔𝕜𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕨𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘."

"𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕠𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕥𝕠 𝕙𝕖𝕣?" He demanded, now stepping away.

"Nothing, sir and I didn't do anything to her, I did something with her." I responded back, in hopes that he will leave me alone.

"𝕎𝕖𝕝𝕝, 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕟.. 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕠 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕙𝕖𝕣?" He said coldly, slightly kicking me in the ribs.

I said groaning, "I.. won't tell.."

"𝕎𝕠𝕟'𝕥 𝕥𝕖𝕝𝕝, 𝕙𝕦𝕙? 𝕎𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕟, 𝕨𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕒𝕝𝕜 𝕚𝕗 𝕀 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕥𝕠 𝕙𝕖𝕣?" Kasoor snapped his fingers and a holographic version of the kid appeared. He had an arm wrapped around her neck and with the other, a knife.

"𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕣𝕖𝕖 𝕤𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕟𝕕𝕤 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕒𝕝𝕜.. 𝕀𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕠𝕟'𝕥, 𝕤𝕙𝕖 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕕𝕚𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝 𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕖." He snarled, pressing the tip of the blade onto her neck.

"Kasoor, I'm sorry, ok?" I begged, my eyes widening at the kid. Holo- Anna whimpered as she struggled to get away from him.

"𝕆𝕟𝕖.."

"Don't, please.." we both said, looking at Kasoor. He glared at me so coldly, my body began to shake.

"𝕋𝕨𝕠.."

"Kasoor, no!! Please.. don't do this!!"

"𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕚𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕒𝕤𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘, ℕ𝕒𝕥𝕖 ℂ𝕠𝕟𝕟𝕖𝕣𝕤. 𝕋𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕞𝕖 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕀'𝕝𝕝 𝕝𝕖𝕥 𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕘𝕠."

Before he could say "three", I muttered, "I helped her get in her bed.."

"𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕤𝕒𝕪?" He asked, eyeing me.

"I said I helped her get in her bed.. The kid was tired.. And so am I." I told him. The holograph kid disappeared and so did the knife.

As a result for what I did, he kicked me hard and hauled me up to face him. "ℕ𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕕𝕠 𝕒𝕟𝕪𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥, 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣. 𝔸𝕣𝕖 𝕨𝕖 𝕔𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕣 𝕠𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥?!"

I nodded and was shoved back down. He formed into the usual black smoke, circled the room three times and prepared to enter inside of me.

I let out a scream as he bolted in, electricity crackling as he moved. Tears were streaming down my face as I fell to my side, sobbing and on the verge of tearing out my hair.

This was all his fault..
