(Anna)
I turned away from the screen, breathing heavily. "You ok?" Nate asked from the kitchen. 'DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M OK?! I've been kidnapped, tortured, beaten and on top of that, it has been HELL!! So NO, I'M NOT!!' I yelled inside me. My abduction felt like months, although it has been a few weeks. I shook my head, indicating a no.
"Come here," He says softly with those grey, calm eyes of his. I began to walk towards him, well, more like my feet dragging me. As I staggered towards Nate, he held out his arms, preparing for my collapse. I felt very light-headed and placed my head upon his chest. He hardened a bit before becoming soft again & stroked my hair.
"Anna, I love you.. ok? Please tell me you love me back," He muttered, resting his chin on my hair. I couldn't say it.. I just couldn't. I knew it was wrong to love the person that's taking you hostage.. unless you had Stockholm Syndrome. The words tumbled out before I can stop myself from saying it. "I-I love you.."
"Are you lying to me, Anna?" Nate asked, holding me out at arm's length.
"No, I'm not," I said suddenly, regretting the fact that I stuttered. He raised an eyebrow, looking annoyed. "Are you sure??" He asked again, frowning. "I'm not!" I yelled, backing away from him. "I can tell that you're lying to me, and you know it!!" Nate shot back, his eyes becoming dark red. "Sir, I swear I'm not lying!!" Tears were now appearing in my eyes as I continued backing away. "THEN WHY DID YOU STUTTER?!" Nate yelled, causing me to flinch. "I didn't want to upset you but here we are. So what if I stuttered? HUH?! It's not like it's the end of the world if I had done that multiple times!! And to top it off, I've been with you for the past few weeks but it feels like months!!"
"You better change that tone of yours, now!!" He told me, seething in anger. "No!!" I shot back at him. "What did you say?!"
"You heard me! I said 'No!'"
"COME HERE, YOU BITCH!!"
Before I can get away, he slapped me. I screamed out in pain, holding my cheek. "YOU WILL TREAT ME WITH RESPECT!! I MEAN IT, ANNA!" Nate yelled. The sound of more slaps vibrated against my cheek as he continued.
Please.. make it stop... I-I can't take it anymore...
I pushed him off and dashed towards the stairs, hoping I would make it into my room. Unfortunately, he caught up and roughly pinned me against the wall. I screamed as Nate forced me to face him, his eyes glowing the same deep red as before. "Never lie to me like that, do I make myself clear?!" Nate hollered, pushing me to the floor. The thud made my broken wrist hurt even more and I cried out in pain.
The glowing red eyes vanished into his normal grey ones as he realized what he had done. His lip trembled as Nate took a step back from me. Why is he afraid after beating me? I looked up at him with the question in my eyes, pleading for an answer. Nate hung his head, walking off to go to his room.
With very little strength I had left, I made my way to the bathroom to examine my face. The marks on my cheek were beginning to bruise up from the beating. There was absolutely no way I could go to school like this!! I didn't want my family to see me in this state.. and definitely not in front of my sisters.
I knew what I have to do... to escape all this....
