Chapter 53: Extra chapter: The young master learns a lot from the monk.

The Crown Prince (Taegi AU)Words: 15536

(Note: This is the continuation of the last extra chapter and is not related to the main story.)

Yoongi smiled slightly as he tilted his head and looked back at Taehyung, "Are you not hungry?"

Taehyung gulped, snapped out of his thoughts and stumbled on his steps as he frantically hurried to take a seat in front of Yoongi.

Yoongi chuckled as he saw the man being a clumsy fool and surprisingly enough, he found the sight to be a bit adorable.

"I-I'm hungry," Taehyung announced as he picked up the spoon and bowed in gratitude.

Yoongi's smiled widened ever so slightly as he commented, "puppy."

"Eh?" Taehyung looked to be a bit taken back as he looked at the man and waited for the man to explain.

Yoongi chuckled but said nothing more.

A frown slowly appeared on Taehyung's face as he questioned accusingly, "Are you trying to call me a dog?"

Yoongi finally couldn't control his amusement as he chuckled.

"Are you laughing at me?!" The previous good feelings that Taehyung felt as soon as he saw this man's face started to fade away as he saw that the man was openly mocking him and calling him a dog.

What was the use of a pretty face if the man who had it also had a crappy and judgy personality?!

"That's not it," Yoongi defended himself as he explained, "When I was a kid, I used to have a puppy. Unlike all the other pets that woke up before their masters, this puppy was different. I used to wake up before him and as soon as I was done cooking his morning breakfast, the lazy puppy would wake up and come over so energetically that he would knock over everything on his path. I had to remove everything that could break, away from his way so that he doesn't break it."

Taehyung's anger died down in a second as he listened to the story attentively.

"Such a lazy dog you had. Why did you not try to train it well?" Taehyung asked as he leaned his head forward, resting his chin on the palm of his hand.

"Train it? Why would I try to do that?" Yoongi found it a bit funny that Taehyung would even suggest something like that, "I loved him very much and these were all the things that made him unique in my eyes. If I were to train him to be like the other dogs then wouldn't that just mean I'm trying to force him to be like the other dogs and indirectly saying that the other dogs are better than him?"

"..."

"In my eyes, this puppy was the most adorable and lovable. Even when he woke up late or broke everything in the house, I still loved him. He would run and jump on me with big bright eyes and I used to love that as well even though my teacher used to scold me for getting my clothes dirty because of him."

Taehyung's eyes softened as he gently gazed at the man's face as Yoongi narrated the loving story.

He immediately wanted to take back what he had thought about the man just a few minutes ago.

This man not only had the face of an angel but his personality was also befitting of an angel!

"He used to be so clumsy and lovable... You just reminded me of him," Yoongi spoke with a smile before turning his head back to drink the soup that he had cooked.

Taehyung was left stunned as he slowly absorbed in Yoongi's words. His cheeks slowly flushed red as he realized that the man had just flirted with him in the most subtle and yet, also the most straightforward manner possible!

This Man! He was certainly bad for Taehyung's health!

By saying that he found Taehyung alike that puppy who was dearly loved, wasn't this guy indirectly saying that Taehyung was also adorable and lovely?!

Taehyung gulped as his thoughts suddenly started going wild.

Could it be that this man had... Fallen in love with him at first sight?!

Taehyung's eyes widened ever so slightly but Yoongi, who was silently eating his food naturally did not see the change in emotions and expressions that went through this man's face since he hadn't thought much about it when he said something like that.

"But then again... It would be more surprising if you didn't fall for a face as handsome as mine," Taehyung mumbled in a voice that was barely above a whisper.

Yoongi looked up as he questioned softly, "Did you say something?"

Taehyung put on his wide smile as he shook his head and answered, "Nothing at all."

Yoongi nodded as he went back to finishing the soup and just a few seconds later,  he stopped as he looked up to face Taehyung as he asked, "Are you not going to eat anymore? Is it not to your liking?"

"Ah!" Taehyung once again snapped out of his thoughts as he immediately took a spoonful of soup and stuffed it inside his mouth before aggressively coughing, spitting out all the soup.

Yoongi was silent for a minute before he eventually broke out laughing as he saw Taehyung waving his hands to fan his tongue.

"Careful with the soup. It's still hot," Yoongi warned a bit too late.

"W-Water!" Taehyung shouted as he stood up and looked around for a bottle that could contain water.

Yoongi was as calm as ever when he politely put his spoon back down and stood up before walking towards the kitchen area and fetching Taehyung a glass of water.

By the time it took for Yoongi to turn around with a glass of water in hand, Taehyung had already found a bottle filled with liquid and didn't hesitate to drink it all in one gulp.

"That!" Yoongi snapped in worry but stopped as he realized that it was once again a bit too late for him to be warning the man.

Taehyung finished the bottle and wiped his lips as he commented while keeping his eyes on the bottle, "Why does this water taste so weird?"

Yoongi gulped as he walked forward and handed the glass of water to Taehyung, "Because that was not water. This is water."

"Eh?" Taehyung looked to be confused and concerned as he cautiously glanced down at the glass of water before turning his eyes towards the empty bottle that he held in his hands.

Yoongi sighed as he mentally concluded that this young master was going to be much more troublesome to handle than he had initially thought.

"If it wasn't water... W-What was it...?" Taehyung stuttered in fear as he questioned.

Yoongi opened his moth to answer the man but before any words could roll out of his tongue, Taehyung had already interrupted as he shouted in worry.

"It couldn't be a bottle of pee, could it?!"

"..."

"I've heard that people who live on the mountains can't go outside to pee at night so they collect their pee in a bottle beside their bed! It can't possible be that you made me drink your pee, right?!"

Yoongi frowned as he heard the man's wild guess and at first, he was about to tell the man the truth but suddenly, he heard Taehyung blaming him as if he was the one that forced the man to drink from that bottle and this immediately made Yoongi want to bully the man for a bit.

"That's right. It was a bottle that is used to collect pee," Yoongi confirmed with an expressionless serious face.

Taehyung's eyes widened as he coughed and stuffed his hand inside his mouth as he tried to force himself to vomit it all out.

No matter how handsome or lovely a man was, drinking his pee was still not something Taehyung would be willing to do in this lifetime! Nor was he willing to do it in his next lifetime!

Yoongi chuckled as he moved forward and stopped Taehyung, "No need to do that. I was just joking. It wasn't my pee."

Taehyung seemed to calm down a bit as he sighed in relief and muttered, "It wasn't?"

Yoongi shook his head as he responded, "It was a cow's pee."

Taehyung gagged as he heard this and it made Yoongi laugh even more as he patted the man's back.

"I'm sorry for playing around," Yoongi said in between his laughter, "It wasn't any type of pee. It was alcohol."

"Oh..." Taehyung straightened his back and wiped his mouth, looking to have finally been completely relieved to know that he hadn't drunk any type of pee.

"I keep it around for cold days," Yoongi added.

Taehyung checked the man out as his eyes trailed up and down Yoongi's body before he questioned, "Aren't you a monk? Are monks allowed to drink?"

Yoongi frowned as he questioned back, "Why can't monk's be allowed to drink?"

"..."

It was certainly the first time in Taehyung's life that he was seeing a monk that accepted a drinking habit so openly as if it was normal.

"You should lie down for a bit. The alcohol is strong and it can take affect at any moment now. I don't want you to go around breaking my house," Yoongi sounded worried as he gently pulled Taehyung along and made him lay back on the stack of hay that had been prepared to act as a bed for him.

"I'm actually quite good with-" Taehyung immediately stopped himself from speaking any further as he looked at Yoongi's face that was pretty close to his own.

Even though this was the first time that they had met each other, Yoongi looked to be seriously worried about Taehyung and this had managed to make Taehyung's heart skip a beat since there weren't a lot of people who would show such genuine concern for him.

"What is it?" Yoongi questioned as he urged for Taehyung to complete his sentence.

Taehyung  shook his head and changed his wordings as he answered, "It's nothing. I just wanted to say that I am a lightweight drinker. Even I don't know the embarrassing things I do when I'm drunk. Since it was you that didn't warn me on time, I hope you can take responsibility over me."

Yoongi's eyes narrowed down on the man's face suspiciously and it looked like he almost wanted to point out that Taehyung's choice in words wasn't the best but at the end of the end, Yoongi still decided not to say anything about it as he simply nodded his head.

"You must take good care of me," Taehyung faked his voice to sound a bit drunk as he added, "For the rest of our lives."

"..." Yoongi pursed his lips as he cautiously asked, "Are you sure you're drunk?"

"I'm extremely drunk right now! I feel like the world is spinning!" Taehyung snapped as he started restlessly moving around, copying the actions that he had seen his friends do when they were all drunk.

Yoongi was suspicious at first but he eventually ended up believing it as he saw this sight of the man swaying from side to side.

"It's okay. Just sleep it off and you'll be okay," Yoongi patted the man as he reassured before pulling the rugged blanket over the man.

Taehyung looked at Yoongi with half open eyes as he perfected his act to look drunk. In his deep voice sounding a bit groggy, he muttered, "Would I... Be okay?"

Yoongi nodded innocently as he reassured once again, "It's just a bit of alcohol. You'll be okay."

"Then what about you... Hyung?" For some reason, Taehyung had the urge to push his limits as he found the perfect chance where he could simply blame everything on the alcohol.

Yoongi's eyes widened in surprise as he heard the man referring to him as 'hyung'.

"What do you mean?" Yoongi questioned with a frown.

Taehyung gulped as he contemplated on whether to really go through with the dangerous plan that his mind had come up with but in the end, his body acted on its own before he could make up his mind.

His hands reached up to touch Yoongi's cheeks and Yoongi looked like a frightened cat with his eyes wide open. His ears clearly turned red and somehow, it encouraged Taehyung to rub the man's ear.

"Hyung, If I'm a puppy, does that make you a cat?"

"Meow-" Yoongi seemed to have lost his mind as he immediately stopped himself and tried to find the right human language, "Absolutely not! I'm not a cat!"

Taehyung chuckled as he saw this cute response, "Hyung, this puppy wants to kiss this adorable cat."

"What?!" Yoongi's eyes widened even more and Taehyung would have never imagined that they could get so big.

His hands hooked around the man's neck and he gently pulled him in, giving Yoongi enough chance and space to turn away and refuse at any moment he wanted but Yoongi didn't do anything like that.

Taehyung closed his eyes and his lips curled upwards in a small smirk as he thought that he was successful in tricking the man but right before their lips could touch, Yoongi stopped and it made Taehyung open his eyes again.

"Do you think I'm an idiot?"

"..."

Before Taehyung could properly even understand what Yoongi had said, he felt a jab of pain hit his head as Yoongi smacked him.

"Don't just go trying something like that again," Yoongi warned as he straightened his back and glared at the man, "Remember that I'm a monk. Worldly pleasure and romantic relationships right now isn't possible between us."

"..."

Right now...? Does that mean that it would be possible in the future?

A/N: Ahhhhhhhhh! Long time no see lol

I should have updated sooner but a lot of things happened recently.

I almost feel like God is taking his revenge on me but when such thoughts enter my mind, I console myself saying that God is taking his revenge on the entire world.

To know that I'm not suffering alone is quite comforting for some reason lol.

Honestly, I wasn't even sure if I was going to post this chapter today but then I checked the calendar and saw that it was a reader's birthday (and since I really love wishing readers happy birthday), it encouraged me to push aside my depression and post this chapter.

Happy birthday KareenaChand 🎉🎉

Let this extra chapter be a gift to you

REINCARNATION CAFE

The bright morning sunshine peeking from the window of the coffee shop filled with the smell of freshly ground coffee beans was something Taehyung would love to wake up to, however, in the life of the twenty-five-year-old detective, such peaceful luxuries were impossible.

But on a fateful day, Taehyung decides to pick up a cup of coffee for his friend from the nearest reincarnation cafe, and from that day onwards, it became his hobby and daily routine to pay the cafe a visit.

Was it because the coffee was delicious?

No, the coffee tasted absolutely disgusting.

Was it because the shop had any secrets?

No, the cafe had clear glass walls... What secrets do you expect it to hold?

Then why, you may ask?

It was simply because the barista working at the cafe was just too handsome and Taehyung was more than ready to immediately proclaim him as his new crush!

That's all there was to it or at least, that's what Taehyung thought...

Who could have guessed that the organized crime organization, Orcus, was also connected with this reincarnation cafe?

This is the story of a detective with a torn heart that tells him to arrest the man that he had loved for a whole lifetime...

"To live a thousand years is impossible... but to spend a lifetime together is the story of you and me..."
