Taehyung didn't just say that he fell in love with Yoongi, he said that he had finally found a place where he belonged...
He found a home...
*A/n: I almost misspelled 'home' as 'hoe'' and now I'm laughing so much >v<
Hanyu wondered what this bittersweet feeling was. His heart that was determined to take Taehyung back had started to melt. He was happy for his little brother.
Hanyu had always known all the insecurities that Taehyung hid deep within his heart and never dared to show anyone. He was his brother who had watched over him and protected him for so long so of course, he knew what his brother was really like.
Taehyung was never able to feel comfortable in the royal palace and Hanyu had always noticed the way Taehyung's muscles would tense up in front of their mother as if he were on guard in front of an enemy. Compared to how Taehyung had lived his life in their own country, this place suited him a lot more. He had learned how to open up about his feelings and he was no longer on guard every single time. He no longer cared to display a fake smile on his face and he was no longer acting recklessly... Well... At least his recklessness had decreased a bit after stepping foot here.
Hanyu raised his hand and Taehyung immediately closed his eyes, thinking that he was going to get hit, but the slap he had expected never came, and instead, he felt Hanyu's hand land on top of his head softly as Hanyu patted him.
Taehyung opened his eyes to look at his brother's expressions. Hanyu had a straight face that didn't give out any type of emotions but since Taehyung knew his brother so well, he could sense that Hanyu was glad.
"I see..." This was the only word Hanyu was able to utter as he patted Taehyung's head.
The two brothers didn't say much but with a single glance, one would be able to tell that there was a lot of non-verbal communication going on.
"This is my home now and to answer your question..." Taehyung suddenly chuckled and this time, there was a hint of happiness in his deep voice, "I fell for him a long time ago."
"!!!" Hanyu's eyes widened slightly but he was able to keep his calm.
"Hyung, do you remember that stupid discussion we had as children? About soulmates? You told me that if I were to meet such a person, I should never let them go, didn't you?" Taehyung took a deep breath in as he added, "I've found him... And I'm never gonna let him go."
"..." Hanyu simply looked at his brother with an indecipherable expression.
Taehyung was shocked to see a tear trail down his brother's face. His brother who had always remained calm and composed was suddenly crying...?! This was probably the first time he had seen such a sight! No! This was definitely the first time he had seen his brother cry!
Taehyung tried to wipe the tears away but Hanyu pushed his hands away as he wiped it for himself.
"Hyung, why are you-"
"Forget it!" Hanyu sniffled as he glared at Taehyung, "He's your soulmate... Then you can just stay and die with that monster."
Taehyung looked down at the ground but said nothing.
Hanyu bumped against his shoulder on purpose as he decided to leave first but after taking few steps, he stopped in his tracks and said one last thing before leaving, "Take care of that wound."
He was referring to the wound on Taehyung's neck. The cloth that wrapped the wound was completely soaked red with blood. Taehyung almost forgot about the wound and at this moment, he couldn't help but feel the pain emitting from the wound. The blood traced down his neck and onto his clothes.
He touched his neck and when he looked at his hand, he found it to be red. Taehyung wasn't a person who was afraid of blood but this naturally didn't mean that he would enjoy bleeding out like this. He put some pressure on his wound in order to stop the bleeding.
Right at this moment, he heard someone clapping.
"Who's there?!" Taehyung snapped his head to look at the pillar and from behind the pillar stepped out a man he was familiar with, "Hyun...?"
Hyun clapped thrice as he looked at Taehyung.
"What are you doing there?" Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows.
Hyun had an indecipherable facial expression as he saw the wound on Taehyung's neck.
Taehyung's eyes suddenly wandered around as he asked, "Are you here to take me back to jail?"
He was planning on running away at any given minute now and his inner thoughts were clearly visible on his face.
"No need to run away," Hyun spoke up and Taehyung looked at him with suspicion, "Young prince, let's go and get you treated."
"No," Taehyung responded firmly, "Where's the crown prince? I want to go see him!"
Hyun suddenly sighed in a chuckling manner, "You can meet him later, I would certainly not stop you. It's better not to go see him when you're bleeding so much."
What Hyun really wanted to say was: You better not show him your wound and get me killed right now! Let me first come up with a good excuse to keep my life and then you can go and tell him everything.
Taehyung didn't look so good. His face was pale and his expressions lacked any kind of joy. Laced along his expressions were worry and anxiety. If Yoongi were to see him like this, the war they had all feared would be coming sooner than expected.
Taehyung glared at Hyun as he once again questioned in his deep voice that sounded scarier now that his throat had been parched, "Where is he?!"
Taehyung was worried. That Lady Mirae had clearly warned him that she caused some trouble to keep the crown prince distracted. He needed to make sure that Yoongi was okay. At this moment, he worried about Yoongi more than he worried about his own life.
Hyun didn't say anything for a second as he simply looked back at Taehyung who had managed to intimidate him just a bit, but Hyun was still not someone who could be easily controlled.
"I'm glad," Hyun commented.
"???"
Hyun, "I thought the crown prince was the only one obsessed. I thought he had gone a bit crazy, but it seems that he wasn't the only fool here."
"Are you calling him a fool?" Taehyung had no idea what Hyun was talking about but he still squinted as if he had been offended on Yoongi's behalf.
Hyun chuckled as he added, "You're both fools. One cares about you more than he cares about his own country and the other cares about the crown prince more than his own life. If that's not foolish, what is it?"
"..." Taehyung was silent for a minute and when the minute was over, he suddenly smiled mischievously, "It's called love...?"
Shockingly, Hyun actually nodded his head, "I agree."
Taehyung didn't think Hyun would agree on it this easily and his shock was visible on his face.
Hyun sighed, "Let's do this. First, we dress the wounds and then we go and see him, alright?"
Taehyung pondered over it for a minute but still didn't give a reply.
Hyun, "You might scare him if you go looking like that."
"Okay! Let's dress the wounds and go." Taehyung nodded like an obedient child and Hyun couldn't help but laugh as he saw this sudden change in temperament.
The two went back to the infirmary where they met the real imperial doctor and got Taehyung's wounds wrapped up.
The doctor frowned as he saw the state of Taehyung's neck after unwrapping the blood-stained cloth but he said nothing.
Hyun seemed to have been looking secretly at Taehyung this whole time, his mind completely lost in thoughts.
At first, when this young prince had come here as a hostage, Hyun thought his highness had gone crazy, but now that he looked back to it, maybe he was the crazy one to think that Yoongi had gone crazy. Yoongi had always seen correctly and it seemed that he had chosen the right person. If there was anybody in this world who was a perfect match for the crown prince, it was probably this reckless man sitting in front of him.
To stand against his own brother and give up his country all for one man he cared for? Hyun could no longer decide if Yoongi was the one more in love or if it was Taehyung. All he could know at this moment was that these two loved each other and the royal palace was surely soon gonna see a marriage that would shake the entire nation and the heavens.
Just as he had promised, Hyun took Taehyung to go and see Yoongi but when they got to the front gate, he stopped and told Taehyung to wait a few minutes for him. He went back and talked to some guards before coming back and continuing to lead Taehyung's way.
Taehyung was curious and so he asked, "What were you discussing?"
Hyun looked back at him and smiled in return, not saying anything as an answer.
In reality, he had given the guards two jobs. One was to make sure that they were safe on the way and the other was to make sure that young master Daesung doesn't run away. Hyun had already made a mistake and let the young master go hurt the young prince, Taehyung. Yoongi was surely going to kill him for this and the only way for him to have a chance to save his life was by sacrificing young master Daesung who was the cause of all this problem.
Just why the hell did that man have to sneak into the prison and pick a fight with Taehyung?! Did he not have an internal organ called the brain?!
When they had reached the unfamiliar place, Taehyung frowned as he asked, "Why is he here?"
Hyun, "There was a report. Someone killed an official and framed... General Park."
"Eh?"
Hyun shook his head as he refused to say anything more, "You can go in and find out."
Suddenly Taehyung wondered if it was a trap but when he looked at Hyun, he felt like he could trust this man who was definitely loyal to the crown prince.
He didn't waste any more time as he bowed and thanked Hyun before going inside the manor that was heavily guarded by soldiers from the royal palace.
At first, the soldiers tried to obstruct his way but when they saw Hyun standing behind him, they immediately bowed and made way for Taehyung.
Taehyung rushed inside the crime scene where the atmosphere was both tense and cold.
Yoongi was standing in the main hall so it wasn't hard to find him. Just as he got in, he was greeted with the back of the crown prince that was hard not to recognize.
Hyun gulped as he wondered if he had prepared enough for what was to come next. Yoongi had entrusted Taehyung to him and he had thoroughly failed in keeping his promise.
"Your highness!" Taehyung ran up to him and when Yoongi turned around as he heard the familiar deep voice, he was immediately engulfed in a tight embrace that surprised him to the core.
There could only be one man in this entire nation who would have the guts to run up to the crown prince and hug him like this.
"T-Taehyung...?" Yoongi was shocked. His eyes wide open and his brain not able to catch up to the situation. He was so shocked that he didn't even care about calling Taehyung by the title of a young prince and directly called him intimately by his first name.
The guards who had seen this gulped and immediately looked away so as to not disturb their crown prince.
Jimin who was analyzing the corpse a few seconds ago suddenly looked up and rested his chin on his palm, looking as if he was watching an entertaining play. If he had a bucket of popcorn in his hands, it would have been perfect.
