"My heart."
Yoongi looked at the man for a second and didn't say anything.
Taehyung stared back and pouted, "See, you can't deny it."
Yoongi was unable to stop his heart from racing. He looked at the drunk man in front of him and suddenly broke out laughing, "You're really unpredictable."
Taehyung held onto Yoongi's sleeve and started swinging it from left to right, "Give it back!"
"What?"
"Give me back my heart... Fufufu~" Taehyung suddenly started crying and Yoongi went still, not knowing what he was supposed to do at moments like this.
"Wait, w-why are you crying?" Worry and helplessness caused the crown prince to stutter.
"You! You! You stole my heart!" Taehyung looked at Yoongi with red eyes, brimming with tears that traced down his face.
Yoongi didn't know if he should laugh or cry.
"Should I be taking you seriously?" Yoongi asked but it wasn't exactly aimed towards Taehyung. He was asking himself. Should he be taking a drunk/sick man seriously?
He wanted to.
He wanted to take this drunk man seriously but he wasn't sure if he should. What if he takes him seriously and the next morning this guy forgets everything that he just said? Isn't that how normal stories go?
"Fufufu~" Taehyung started crying harder, "You don't even take me seriously...?!"
Yoongi buried his face in his hands and suddenly his shoulders started shaking.
Just as Taehyung saw this, he stopped crying immediately as he thought this man was crying along with him.
"I'm sorry." Yoongi looked up, "I shouldn't be laughing at you."
The tears that had stopped streaming down his face once again continued, "I hate you!"
"Okay hehe... Okay. Stop crying." Yoongi spoke as he patted Taehyung's head lovingly.
"But you don't take me seriously," Taehyung whined.
Yoongi had never taken care of a sick person nor had he ever taken care of a drunkard, but now he got the first-hand experience of both of it at the same time. He felt like he should've taken prior lessons of nursing such a person. Maybe after this, he'd really consider taking those lessons just in case this happens again.
"I can't take you seriously if you keep crying like this," Yoongi responded with a straight face, trying his best to hold in the smile that was creeping up his face.
Taehyung once again stopped crying and wiped away the tears from his face, "I won't cry then.." He sniffled and Yoongi couldn't help but smile at the sight.
"You promise you won't cry?"
Taehyung bobbed his head up and down enthusiastically, "I promise. I promise. I promise I won't but you have to... You have to take me seriously."
Yoongi suddenly had the urge to hug the man. He was just... too cute. Deadly cute!
"Now your turn."
Yoongi, "My turn for what?"
"You have to promise me. Promise me that you'll take me seriously."
Yoongi sighed, "I don't even know what this conversation was about."
"It's about you being a thief." Taehyung grinned and his eyes formed two little crescents making him look like a small kid whose mother had finally agreed to buy his favorite candy.
Yoongi patted the man's head as if the man was really a little kid, "Okay, I'm a thief. Happy?"
Taehyung nodded enthusiastically, "Now you need to be punished for stealing."
Yoongi's eyes went wide in amusement, "You want to punish me?"
Who else in the world would be this courageous to say that he wanted to punish the crown prince?
"Yes. Thieves should be punished~!" He blinked cutely, "You should take responsibility."
"Responsibility?" Yoongi couldn't help but smile in turn.
"You should take responsibility for stealing my heart." Taehyung looked at him hopefully.
"I should, shouldn't I?" Yoongi chuckled.
"You should!"
"What do you want me to do? Marry you?" Yoongi asked jokingly as he chuckled.
Taheyung suddenly went silent and this made Yoongi look up at the man only to see that he was looking at him with shock and embarrassment apparent on his face. Yoongi went silent as he saw this.
This man-
"M-marry??" Taehyung's cheeks turned bright red and his ears seemed to let out steam.
Yoongi couldn't believe it. This man had taken him seriously.
"I-isn't it too soon for m-marriage?" Taehyung looked down, fiddling with his fingers.
Yoongi cut in between, "You're right! Too soon! I was just kiddi-"
"I'll agree!"
"Huh?" Yoong couldn't believe it.
"Let's get married!" Taheyung beamed as he leaned in closer and Yoongi leaned backward.
"Oi! Oi! You can't just say something like that." Yoongi responded as he stared at the man in shock.
"I can't?" Taehyung pouted, "But I want to."
Yoongi stopped leaning back, he couldn't breathe and his heart felt like it was being squeezed by something.
Taehyung folded his hands and sat back down, his face alike a child whose favorite candy had gone out of sale, "You won't take responsibility! Fufufu~" The man started crying once again but this time there were no more tears to shed. He had already shed them all so there was nothing left for him to show.
Yoongi felt his head aching yet he didn't have the heart to leave this man alone like this. He moved forward and grabbed onto Taehyung's hand, making the man turn his head and look at him, "You really want me to marry you?"
Yoongi felt like he had suddenly been bewitched by this man's magic. He had gone crazy and if he hadn't, how else can you explain his current behavior? Who asks a drunkard if he is serious or not? Even if Taehyung said he was serious, could he still take his word for it?
Taehyung looked at the veil that covered Yoongi's face and frowned, he leaned in closer and nodded his head enthusiastically, "I want."
Yoongi suddenly felt the heat rise up his cheeks and ears. He stood up and paced around the room in circles, trying his best to calm his heart which seemed to have been ready to give up at any moment now. He peeked at Taehyung who didn't take his eyes off of the man.
Yoongi sighed as his thoughts finally came to a standstill. He sat back down and held Taehyung's hands, "You should rest now." He advised as he pushed him down and tucked him back.
Taehyung was in no manner done yet. He immediately grabbed onto Yoongi's hand and pulled him along. Yoongi didn't see this coming and after having been taken by surprise, he lost his balance and ended up falling on top of Taehyung who caged him with both his hands around the man. One hand holding his hand and the other gripping the crown prince's waist.
Yoongi tried to stand back up but the hand around his waist pulled him back down and he once again fell helplessly onto the man's chest. Yoongi stopped as he felt the other's chest beating at the same rate as his.
He wasn't the only one whose heart was racing and somehow this made Yoongi feel helplessly happy.
The position made it so that the veil was now lying on Taehyung's face instead. Yoongi panicked for a minute but he could do nothing.
"Will you marry me, your highness?" Taehyung whispered and Yoongi's heart stopped.
He couldn't put a name to this feeling, but for some reason, he didn't want to respond with a no however, that didn't mean he could just blindly say yes. At least not right now when this guy was out of it.
Yoongi sighed and smiled. His hands which were paused in midair came down and rested on either side of Taehyung's face, "If you want to marry me, you'll have to earn that title."
"How?" Taehyung pouted.
"For starters, you'll have to make sure I fall in love with you and then you'll have to make sure that there isn't anybody else I'll like more than you," Yoongi answered with a complicated expression as if he was really thinking hard about what Taehyung needed to do.
He didn't mean it and he didn't think this man would take him seriously either.
"So... If I do all that..." Taehyung cut him off mid-sentence, "Will you marry me?"
"I might think about it."
"Then... Will you finally take this annoying cloth off?"
Yoongi didn't respond. He just looked at the man whose face was covered by the veil that was hanging off of Yoongi's headpiece.
"Will I finally be able to earn your trust?" Taehyung pouted and it made Yoongi's heart feel something he couldn't decipher.
Yoongi was silent for a minute and when the minute was over, he broke out laughing.
"W-why are you laughing again?" Taehyung questioned, his eyes once again brimming with tears as if he were getting ready for another cry session.
"Do you want to marry me so that I can trust you?" Yoongi asked as he tried his best to hold back his laughter.
Taehyung nodded with a pout, "I want to become your special person. Someone you can trust and rely on."
"Such cheesy lines... Where did you learn them from?"
Taehyung smiled and before he could answer, Yoongi blocked his mouth with his hand.
"Actually, don't answer that question."
Yoongi was even more shocked to find his palm suddenly feeling something hot and wet.
"You!"
Taehyung licked him! He freaking licked the crown prince!
"Sweet." Taehyung giggled and Yoongi's ears turned so red that it seemed he was the one who was really sick.
"You really..." Yoongi wasn't mad at him. He was taken back but he didn't hate it and this fact shocked him even more, "You don't need to..."
"Hmm?" Taehyung smiled, feeling quite proud of himself.
"You don't need to marry me if that is your reason."
Taehyung blinked, not really understanding what this crown prince was talking about.
Yoongi looked up at him and felt himself go a little crazy as he decided to open himself up and display his weaknesses, "You are already special so you don't need to marry me for that."
"You trust me?" Taheyung tilted his head and questioned.
"I do." Yoongi nodded, he wasn't lying, "I trust you."
"Then..." Taehyung hesitated but the hesitation didn't last for too long, he gulped as he asked his next question, "Can I see your face now?"
Yoongi didn't respond.
It wasn't that he didn't trust this man, he was just uncomfortable with showing his face to anyone. It had always been a weakness to him. He would rather have his head chopped down instead of having to show his face.
After having your face hidden away for most of your life, a person would naturally develop an awkwardness and fear of ever having to show their face.
He wasn't always like this. He didn't like hiding his face either, but he'd rather not talk about how this all started. He really wanted to forget it now. It was time to let go of the past that still haunted him.
Taehyung was the first person who was trying this hard to get him to remove this troublesome piece of clothing. He... kinda liked it.
Yoongi took a deep breath in and didn't say anything.
This man was already this drunk so he'd hopefully forget all about this, with that in mind, Yoongi made a decision.
He was going to take the veil off.
"You can take it off." Yoongi gave his permission.
"Really?" Taehyung wanted to make sure if he had heard it right.
"Yeah." Yoongi saw Taehyung letting his hand go and getting ready to lift the veil out of the way.
He couldn't do it. He was too embarrassed and scared for this moment so the crown prince immediately closed his eyes as if by doing so, nobody will be able to see him.
Taehyung's hand came up to the crown prince's cheeks and rested there.
A moment passed and Yoongi was confused. Was this man not going to take it off?
He opened his eyes to peek at the expressions of the man. Taehyung was looking at him with a blank expression or more like an expression that he could not decipher. Yoongi was confused and he had the sudden urge to know what this man was thinking.
Taehyung stroked his cheek and didn't try to remove the veil and instead he pulled the man down, closing up the space between them.
Yoongi's eyes went wide as he realized what was happening.
