Chapter 68: 66

Ethan

It wouldn't be the first time I got called into the principals office. It had happened a thousand times and usually, I wouldn't be nervous, because I knew exactly what I was being called in for.

Now, I'm nervous, simply because I don't know what I'm being called in for? I can't even think of any possible reason for the principal wanting to see me. I didn't hurt anyone, and I didn't cause any trouble. These last few days, I've been under the radar, seeing as I purposely did not want to get into trouble; mainly for two reasons: One was Ivy and the other, Glory.

I didn't want to stress Ivy up with my recklessness, and give her a good reason to leave me. She had no idea about the dark part of my past, and I was willing to keep it that way. It wasn't the world I wanted her to get involved in, the Inc alone was enough, I couldn't bring my past along with it.

And as for Glory, I promised to stay out of trouble if she let Ivy go, and she did, but Ivy didn't leave... That doesn't taint the end of my bargain, I still had to keep that promise.

So, why the hell does the principal want to see me? What happened?

I pushed open the door to the principals office, my eyes zoning in on Malcolm and Ramson, the principal. They had been arguing about something before I walked in, obviously interrupting them.

Ramson glared up at me.

"Leave us Ramson, I'll ask him myself." Malcolm let out, his tone harsh.

I blinked, looking over at the deep frown resting on Ramson's brows. "But I-"

"I'll handle this." Malcolm stated, his eyes speaking words to Ramson, words I could interpret as: Leave, for your own good.

Ramson groaned, walking round his table, before brushing past me, purposely hitting my shoulder with his... I barely moved.

When the door closed, leaving a loud bang after him, my eyes moved back to Malcolm. "What was that all about?"

There was this frown on Malcolms' face, a frown that told me he didn't come here to make small talk.

He gestured his head to the brown envelope laying on the table. "Open it."

I raised a brow at him. "What the hell is this all about?"

"Open the damn envelope, Ethan." He gritted out.

I sighed, picking up the envelope and opening it. I sneaked a glance at his passive stare, before pulling out the photographs inside.

My heart literally stopped.

I raised my eyes to Malcolms' expecting gaze. "What the fuck is this?" I asked.

"Right, shall we skip the part where you deny that you don't know how that happened."

Confused, I looked back at the photographs. The first was of a boy, his left wrist cut off, an open gash to his chest. The second also had no left wrist, his face bruised so badly, his eyes wide open in death, the third had no wrist also, but was completely naked, several gashes on his skin, like someone had stabbed him multiple times. I only recognized one of them... Tom, he was the one with a bruised face.

I swallowed, looking up at Malcolms' judging eyes. "You have to believe me, I have nothing to do with this."

Malcolm snatched the pictures from me, slamming them against the table. "Are you fucking kidding me Ethan? You're lying to me? Me?"

"Am I supposed to take the blame for something I didn't do? I didn't kill these guys-- I- this wasn't me Malcolm, I'm done with that life."

Malcolm crossed his arms against his chest, stern eyes glaring into mine. "You didn't do this, but your boys did, which automatically means you."

I raked my hands through my hair. "They wouldn't-"

"This Ethan," his index finger connected with the pictures on the table. "Has, Lithains written all over it. No left wrists? The stabbing."

"Fuck." I muttered, turning away, my mind, a maze of itself.

Malcolm pulled me to face him. "They are your boys Ethan, you started this shit... So put a fucking end to it, I can't keep cleaning up your fucked up messes."

"I'm done with them... I told Rider I was out... Okay, I told them that it was over, the end of the Lithains... They- they didn't listen to me."

"Of course they didn't Ethan, what did you think? That you'd say stop and they would stop? It's in their blood now, you created the fucking gang, you gotta put an end to it, and I don't know how you wanna do it, but you've got to. One of them was a student here, Tom Pearson, his parents are doing everything in their power to pin this shit on you. I will only help you this once, next time, I'm gonna leave it to Glory."

My eyes widened. "You can't-"

"That's why you gotta make sure there's no next time."

"I don't wanna get involved in this shit again Malcolm... I- I have too much to deal with already-"

He glared. "Maybe you should have listened to me when I told you not to start something you couldn't finish." He said, gathering the pictures and shoving them back into the envelop, before his eyes met mine again.

"Get your boys in order, before they hurt someone you actually care about." He said, storming out of the office.

Anger, one I had really tried to suppress, charged through my veins like volcano charging through the exit point. I wanted hit something so bad, I wanted to destroy anything I possibly could.

Rider really did it this time... He just had to bring a student into this. He just had to!

I gripped the visitors chair, lifting it and throwing right across the office with a growl.

This is exactly what I've spent the last few days trying to avoid... This!

Regret burned through my insides, tearing me apart. I should have just listened to them... I shouldn't have started this in the first place.

I was making my way towards the entrance of the office, when the door opened suddenly, revealing Ramsons' annoyed face.

He opened his mouth. "You-"

"Get... out of my fucking way." My voice was barely heard, but with the sudden fear, slapping the frown off his face and his speedy response, I knew he heard me correctly.

I breezed right out of the office, not exactly knowing what to do... I couldn't exactly go to Rider this mad, I'd kill him before he even got a word out.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, an unknown number flashing on my screen.

I answered. "Whoever the fuck you are, I'm in no mood to play introduction games." I seethed out.

It got a bit quiet at the other end of the line before her familiar voice went through to my ear, melting my anger in an instant. "Ethan, it's I-Ivy."

My eyes slipped shut for a moment, as I bit my tongue, hard.

"What number's this?"

"Caramel's- uh... I thought you saved it- um, I just remembered you both aren't exactly friends at the moment."

I sighed, my hand running through my hair. "I'm sorry, for- for the way I responded."

"It's okay... Are you- are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Why are you calling me through her phone?"

"It appears where I currently am, there's no service on my phone... Caramel was close by..."

"Where you are? wait, aren't you supposed to be in class?"

"Yeah, class ended few minutes ago, and um- Ralph took us somewhere through a portal, and um- I think we're at the Futures sector... For a- for a Rebel-lions meeting at a place he called the Rebel-lions Hub... Uh... There's too many of them, and- and I'm nervous, and I need you, like right now." Her voice trembled.

One of these days, I'm gonna kill Ralph.

"Tell Caramel to text me the address. I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Okay... Please be quick... I can't do this without you."

"Don't worry Ponytail, I'm on my way... I love you."

"I love you too."

She hung up, and almost immediately, the location was shared to me.

A meeting spot for the Rebel-lions? At the Futures sector? Ralph really does think ahead!

Ethan created the Lithains? How do you think Ivy would react to this news? Do you think he's gonna tell her? Or do what he always does, protect her from it? Tell me what you think!

See y'all in the next update.
