Chapter 27: 26

My Robotic BoyfriendWords: 8611

Ivy

I found him leaning on his bike, scrolling through his phone like he was tired of it. His hair fell loosly down his forehead, making him look all cute and gentle. His shoulders were relaxed, and his stance was firm. I should take a picture of him, like this. Damn it! He looked like one of those hot guys you see on Pinterest when you search for bad boys on bike. Ugh!

I looked around.

I wasn't the only one staring, girls from every corner drooled at the wonderful sight in front of them. He was oblivious to the fact that people were staring at him, and even if he wasn't oblivious to it, he looked like he was totally used to it.

Wherever Nathan was, was he aware that his brother was still alive? Was he looking for him? Does he think about him everyday?

Why the hell do I feel like it's my job to reunite the two boys? How would Ethan feel about that?

I felt comfortable calling him Ethan. How I wish I could just let him know that I knew his real name and his background. But I had to be patient.

In order to avoid what happened last time, I needed to keep somethings to myself.

"Hey Trev?" I said, the name beginning to sound foreign to my mouth.

He looked up from his phone. "Finally. Do you really love this school that much?"

"Library duty. Sorry." I smiled. "Are you ready?"

"Sure." He said, picking up my helmet and handing it over to me.

"Where are we going?" I asked him again.

"I told you it was a surprise, right?"

"Yeah, and I remember telling you that I didn't like surprises."

He chuckled. "I also remember telling you that, it was way better that way." He said.

I smiled, shaking my head.

This was in every cliche story, the boy takes the girl out on a surprise journey, they'd probably end up going to a place where the guy goes once in a while to think about different stuffs, the girl would feel so special because she was the first girl he would take to that place.

They would talk about things and he would tell her she was beautiful under the moonlight, and then they'd kiss.

But that wasn't our case. My boyfriend didn't have any special place, seeing as he doesn't know places around here. He wasn't a robot, but he had a Robotic device in his body. He wasn't your normal bad boy character who would change his bad boy ways because he fell in love with a nerd.

No, he was himself. There was no changing him, and there was a zero possibility that he was capable of loving me. Or even liking me. I had his freedom at my grasps. If anything, he was fed up of me and was probably taking me to a jungle to cut off my body parts.

No... He wasn't but... That had to be said.

I smiled, resting my head on his back as he drove us to where ever he had in his mind.

For now, I'd savor this moment. It was the only thing that mattered. I knew I shouldn't grow feelings for him, but how could I possibly control the way my heart felt whenever I was with him? How can I stop myself from smiling when he smiled?

When did I even start feeling this way about him? It was all normal, few days ago... What changed?

Probably because it had taken just few days to go through a very emotional situation. Having my mind wiped by someone who I was beginning to take a liken to.

I smiled again. But still, I managed to figure out somethings about him, probably more than I figured out the last time.

I wanted to help him out so bad. I didn't even want to imagine what he went through after that fire, his Inc would have fooled him into coming with them... At such a young age.

I felt pity for him. No one should go through that. No one.

Subconsciously, I tightened my grip around him.

Don't worry Ethan, I'll reunite you with your brother, no matter what.

Minutes into the ride, I felt him slow down. Raising my head to see us stop in front of a small restaurant.

I got down from the bike, taking off my helmet. He did the same.

"Really? This is the surprise?" I asked. "I see this place almost everyday."

He laughed. "This isn't the surprise, Ivy. I've got something else planned out. Do you even watch movies?"

"I do... And I think I know what you have planned... Let me see, does it involve a sacred place that you hold so dear to you heart?"

"Hm... Maybe."

"Is the sky much brighter and beautiful there?"

"Maybe?"

"Are you going to tell me that my eyes are so pretty and you could look at them all day?"

"Definitely." He said.

"Then you'd lean in and bless me with your kisses?"

"Obviously." He grinned, looking amused.

"Then after that, we'd fall madly in love with each other and when we're old enough we'd get married?"

"Uh... I'm not so sure about that part." He chuckled. "Damn it, you're good."

"I know. I've seen everything there is to see." I muttered.

He chuckled again. "I thought we could grab something to eat before continuing our obvious but not so obvious journey." He said.

"Okay, now that you mentioned food, I just realized how hungry I am."

I was full to the brim by the time I picked up the last pizza. "I'm never having this much pizza again. How did we finish this."

He smiled at me. "Are you asking me? I just had three slice of that thing... You ate the rest."

"That's the thing, I don't even know when I started eating that much." I said.

"You starve yourself. Now I'm gonna make it my Job to make sure you never starve."

"Yeah, so you can make me look like the animated Duff from the Duff. You don't want me to ever get married, do you?"

He laughed, for the first time it sound real and carefree. I loved the sound of it.

I shrugged. "How did the private practice with Kyle go?"

He raised a brow. "Private practice?"

"Yeah... The one you told me about, back at the field."

He looked confused for a second before realization dawned on his face. "Oh, that private practice."

"Yeah... Did you straighten things out with him."

He nodded. "Yeah, it went well. Uh... We should get going."

"Okay."

It was getting pretty dark outside, we spent close to hours inside that restaurant. Talking while eating. It was a normal thing. But it felt so personal.

We drove for a couple of hours, cause now the sky had gone dark, I could remember myself momentarily asking him if we'd be there soon. And he'd answer yes.

But still we kept driving.

Finally, his bike stopped. I took off the helmet, getting down from the bike and checking my surroundings.

We were at a popular bridge, the sky was filled with so many stars and the moon made the water beneath the bridge twinkle. It was a beautiful sight. There were few people around also, mostly couples.

I gave a knowing smile. "This would have been a very good surprise if I hadn't been here before." I said.

He only smiled. "We're not exactly there yet, but I'm beginning to think you know everywhere in this city."

He brought out a blindfold. "I'll need you to put this on."

I sighed. "This would be really embarrassing for you if I Know where you're taking me."

"Don't worry, I'll keep on having the hope and faith that you don't." He gave a small laugh. "Put it on." He said.

I took it from him, then tied it over my eyes. "It's on, your lordship."

"Lordship? Really?"

"Sorry, I've always wanted to say that to an actual person." I said.

I felt his hands on my shoulder, as he led to wherever it is he was taking me.

"You're weird." He laughed softly.

"I get that a lot." I smiled.

Suddenly, the air felt super warm. Then soon enough, I heard voices, things, it sounded like we were in the busy streets of New York City. The laughter of children and people welcomed my ears, I felt as if we were at a really busy park. But it was night time, parks aren't usually busy by this time.

"Are you ready?" He asked.

I nodded eagerly.

He untied the blindfold. My eyes flew open immediately, but I regretted that action because I had to squint my eyes due to the sunlight.

Sunlight? Sunlight?!!!

My heart increased it's rhythm at the unbelievable sight in front of my eyes and all around me.

It was morning time, there were tall skyscrapers with beautiful shapes everywhere, people were everywhere, running around, buying this, selling that... They looked happy and beautiful.

Now I understood Aladdin... This was indeed a whole new world.

I was too awestrucked to speak.

"Are you okay?" Ethan asked.

"I- wha- what is this place? It was dark a moment ago." I stuttered, finding him staring at me.

"Welcome to the Purest sector." He said, his eyes leaving mine to stare ahead.

Purest sector? What does that even mean?

"In other words," he turned to face me again. ".... Welcome to my godforsaken Inc."
