Tears cascaded down her face like an endless waterfall. The heartbreak was so overwhelming that she didnât know how to handle it.
Outside, Sera continued reading the news article. She desperately wanted to share it with Ezekiel and have him explain what was going on. However, she didnât dare to do so. After all, Ezekielâs status was not something she could challenge. Having been in this circle for so long, she understood the rules of the game for the wealthy-one couldnât be too demanding.
Even if Ezekiel was involved with another woman, all Harmony could do was cause a scene. After that, she would have to compromise if she wanted to continue enjoying his resources.
Meanwhile, in the office, Yunna also witnessed the impact of the mediaâs coverage, which pleased her greatly. She was waiting for Ezekiel to call her in so she could play the victim and explain herself.
Surely, Ezekiel would feel sorry for her being implicated.
Ezekiel was currently in a meeting with managers who had flown in from all over the world to report to him. His mind was fully focused on work, oblivious to what was happening outside.
Miles was also engrossed in the meeting, leaving him no time to check the news online.
Finally, the meeting ended at 11:30a.m. After lunch, Ezekiel had two more meetings scheduled. His schedule was almost entirely filled with meetings.
Once the other managers had left, Yunna approached Ezekielâs table to tidy up the documents. Seeing that Ezekiel was completely unaware of the online incident, she felt obligated to remind him.
âMr. Weiss, take a look at this. I donât know which media outlet wrote this nonsense. Our relationship is purely professional, but they wrote it as if we have an ambiguous relationship, Yunna said, pretending to be upset.
Ezekiel took the tablet and glanced at it, then reassured Yunna, âDonât worry about it. Itâs just the media making things up-â As he said this, Ezekiel suddenly stood up from his chair, startling Miles, who quickly asked, âBoss, whatâs wrong?â
âHarmony.â Ezekiel grabbed his phone and rushed out of the meeting room, practically sprinting. Yunna couldnât help but call after his retreating figure, âMr. Weiss, you still have a meeting!â
Miles told her, âThe boss has something more important to attend to right now!
âWhat is it?â
âTo explain this to Miss Mayo.â Miles pointed to the scandal on the tablet, then looked deeply into Yunnaâs eyes. âYunna, youâve worked hard to reach this position. You must cherish it!â
Yunna immediately feigned ignorance. âI donât know what you mean, Miles.â
Miles didnât elaborate either. âIâm just giving you some advice. Take it or leave it.â
Ezekiel hurriedly made his way to the production set. He dialed Harmonyâs number, but there was no answer. He immediately thought she might be filming, so he dialed Seraâs number instead.
When Sera heard her phone ringing, she was surprised to see it was Ezekiel. She opened the car door and asked Harmony, âHarmony, why didnât you answer Mr. Weissâ call?â
âI donât want to answer it, and I donât want to hear his explanation. I have to go back on set.â After experiencing such intense pain, Harmony surprisingly remained calm.
Sera was a bit concerned. âDo you want me to get you a day off? Why donât we take a break today?â
âNo, I can film, Sera. I can lose everything except my job. Harmony said. Now, she could only numb herself with work, giving herself a sense of direction so she wouldnât get lost.
Sera held Harmonyâs still-ringing phone. âShould I answer Mr. Weissâ call?â
âGo ahead,â Harmony said and went to get her makeup touched up. Sera answered the call at the last moment, pretending to be calm. âHello, Mr. Weiss. How can I assist you?â
