A few members of the Payne Family were sitting around the table at the restaurant, including Leslieâs grandparents, his parents, and his two aunts and unclesâinâlaw. They were not here today to call off Leslieâs and Queenieâs engagement, but they were here mainly to reâselect Leslieâs future wife, who would also be the future matriarch of their family.
When Queenie walked in, they couldnât recognize her and werenât sure if she was Queenie or Bonnie.
âMrs. Silverstein, wâwho is this? Is she Queenie or Bonnie?â
âThis is my eldest daughter, Queenie, Bonnie and Leslie will be coming right up!â Maggie explained with a smile.
âOh, they look very alike. We canât tell them apart!â Leslieâs mother, Keira Faulkner, donned an awkward smile as she tried to gloss over her social faux pas.
Although Queenie hated Leslie, she still treated the seniors politely since they werenât the target of her ire. She bowed slightly and courteously greeted the members of the Payne Family.
Not long after, they saw Bonnie and Leslie walking in together, but they were slightly disappointed when they looked at Bonnieâs obviously amorous and arrogant figure. They wondered why Leslie would fall for such a prideful and vain woman.
It was obvious at a glance that Queenie was even more dignified, wellâbehaved, and refined than her twin!
As Bonnie took her seat beside Brandon, she couldnât even be bothered to say hello while she merely swept a dismissive glance at the members of the Payne Family.
âBonnie, say hello to Leslieâs grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles!â
âHello,â Bonnie reluctantly obeyed in a somewhat haughty manner.
The members of the Payne Family secretly gasped in shock and exchanged bewildered glances.
Queenie and Bonnie were sisters, but why was Bonnie different from what they imagined?
They assumed that Leslie had chosen the more outstanding one among the twins, but to their dismay, he had done nothing of the sort. If anything, Bonnie was the epitome of a spoiled brat.
âOh, so youâre Bonnie! Leslie has always talked about you. Itâs nice to finally put a face to the name.â
âMr. and Mrs. Payne, I hereby announce that my engagement with Leslie is null and void. From now on, my sister, Bonnie, will become Leslieâs fiancée,â Queenie affirmed in a crisp voice.
