I'm so sorry about not posting earlier. I haven't forgotten about this story and I'll try to remember to post more frequently. I hope you all enjoy this post and comment if you like.
Raina POV
Thursday afternoon came and Gryffindor had a class with Slytherin. We had DADA with Mad-eye Moody. I took in his scent and noticed that it was different from the last time I saw him. His scent now was like that man that conjured the dark mark at the game. I decided to look into it later and listen to him. He introduced himself and then asked about the Unforgivable Curses. "Three, sir," Hermione answered. "And they are so named?" he asked "Because they are unforgivable. The use of any one of them will.." she was cut off "Will earn you a one-way ticket to Azkaban, correct," Moddy finished. He later called on Ron and asked for one of the curses. I decided to zone out since it was a boring class. I can back when Hermione screamed. He brought a spider to her desk and said, "Perhaps you could give us the last unforgivable curse, Miss Granger," he said and she shook her head. "Miss Black?" he asked and turned to me. I got up and pointed my wand to the spider "Avada Kadavra," I said and killed the spider instantly. I sat back down on my seat and he continued. "The killing curse. Only one person is known to have survived it. And he's sitting in this room," he said and went up to Harry. He took out his flask and drank from it. I sniffed out what it was and noticed that it was a poly-juice potion. I looked at him confused but continued to act like I didn't know. Whoever that person is, it isn't Mad-eye Moddy I thought to myself.
That night, everyone was in the great hall waiting for the names to be called. We were all told to sit down and we did. The Champion selection was about to begin. I sat down beside Harry and watch with anticipation. I wanted to be chosen so badly for this, so I could test my strength and see how much I have grown. The fire turned red and a paper came out. "The Durmstrang champion is...Victor Krum!" Dumbledore yelled and everyone clapped for him. I did too since he seemed like the most possible candidate to be chosen. The flame turned red again and another paper flew out "The champion for Beauxbatons is...Fleur Delacour!" All the girls from that school clapped and the boys from our school did too. Not many of the girls clapped since they didn't like those girls. It turned red one more time and the last name to be chosen came out. "The Hogwarts champion is...Raina Black!" (I know it was Cedric but I can't make Raina, Cedric and Harry champions so I decided to change this part) Everyone clapped for me as I went up and went towards Dumbledore. I went through the same door that Victor and Fleur went to. I noticed it was like a common room. I went to the couch and took out a book and started reading. I stopped when I sensed Harry coming in. I got confused and went towards him.
He looked just as confused as I was. I saw in his hand, the paper with his name on it but the paper was burned. Someone put his name in the Goblet. I decided to check the memories of the mouse that I left to watch the Goblet. I saw that last night a hooded man came in through the doors and walked towards the Goblet. I saw the paper in his hands and zoomed in. the paper had Harry's name on it. The man put it in and left. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard running and yelling coming from outside. "It's wrong, I tell you!" Madame Maxine yells. "You french tart!" Moody yells back. Dumbledore ran up to Harry and pushed him against the wall. "Harry! Did you put your name in the cup?!" he asked "No sir," "Did you ask any of the older students to do it for you?!" "No sir," "You're sure?" "Yes, sir," Harry responded to every question that Dumbledore asked with fear in his voice and face. "But of course he is lying," Maxine says. "The hell he is!" Moody yells back. I zoned them out as I tried to help Harry calm down. "Quiet!" I yelled at them. "Harry didn't put his name in the Goblet. Someone else did. Someone who wants Harry to die in this tournament." Karkaroff scoffed at me "And how did you get chosen?" he snared at me. "I got permission from my headmaster to put my name because I am an exceptional wizard and can hold my own even against the darkest of wizards," I scoffed back at him. I summoned my mouse and enlarged him so everyone else can see him. "I put this mouse on patrol of the Goblet ever since the second night of the Goblet being there. This mouse caught everything." I showed them the memory and the cloaked and hooded man putting Harry's name in the Goblet. "That all my mouse caught of the man without being seen and destroyed," I said and then we all turned to Barty Crouch.
"We leave this to you, Barty," Dumbledore said and Crouch turned around. "The rules are absolute. The Goblet of Fire constitutes a binding magical contract. Mr. Potter has no choice. He is, as of tonight, a Triwizard champion." They all turned to him and some looked at him with pity. We were sent back to our dorms and I left with Harry. We went up to his dorm as I tried to calm him down. "Harry, I'm sorry you have to go through this again. Another person wanting you dead and making so everyone can see it happen. I promise I will help get through every test alive," I said and he nodded "Thanks, Raina. I can always count of you," I smiled and decided to leave him so he could sleep. I went to my dorm and sent out all my rats so they could patrol the corridors. I sent one to spy on Moody just in case.
A few days later, we were sent to be interviewed by Skeeter. She took our picture and then took Harry with her first. When it was my turn, I almost killed her. She kept answering her questions ignoring my answers. She said I was doing this to get back at my dad and for attention and whatever bullshit else. I was happy to leave her sight. Harry and I had to wait for the others to be done as well so we could all leave. After me, was Fleur and then last was Victor. Then he came out, we all left to go to where we needed to go. I walked next to Victor as Harry and Fleur walked in front of us. "Was I the only one about to kill Skeeter or were you going to do it too?" I asked him as I faced him. He looked at me and nodded "I wanted to kill her too. She was annoying," he said and I smiled. At least someone agrees with me.
A few days after that, Harry and I were in the common room waiting for Sirius since he wanted to talk to us. He appeared by the fire and he talked to Harry first. They talked about his dream and Karkaroff since he used to be a death-eater. Then Barty Crouch's son was mentioned. I remembered that trial. Father allowed Draco and I to go watch. Draco because he was going to take his job when dad retired and me because Draco refused to go without me. I remembered Barty's son's scent. It was just like that man from the World Cup. Crouch Jr. was Moody in disguise. That's why he needs the poly-juice potion.
Then, Uncle talked to me. He told me to be careful and that I shouldn't have submitted my name without asking him first. I told him that I could handle myself and that I would be fine. We heard someone coming down the stairs so Sirius left. Harry and I sat on the couch pretending like we were talking. "What are you two doing up?" Ron asked. "We were talking, turns out my rats found out the truth about Harry being a champion." Ron scoffed and left. Harry and I sighed and we decided to go to sleep. He went to his dorm while I went to mine. On my bed lied a sleeping Lucas. I shook him until he woke up.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him and he just hugged me and threw me on my bed by his side. "I wanted to sleep here, with you. When I came here and you weren't I figured you were in the common room and wouldn't take long to get back so I decided to lie down until you did. I must've fallen asleep while waiting," he said and I giggled. I pulled the cover over us and we fell asleep.
~A few days later~
It was Friday night and Harry was going to see Hagrid right now since he called him. I decided to spend the night sewing dresses since the Yule Ball was going to be after the first task. I knew girls were going to come to me for dresses to be made or fixed for the ball. I also knew some would go to buy dresses at Hogsmeade. I ended up staying up until one in the morning. I went to the common room since I hear someone come in and I knew it was Harry. "Hey. So what did Hagrid want?" I asked him as he sat down on a couch. "The first task...are dragons," he said and I smiled. "Great. Now we can get prepared for it," I saw Harry begin to worry. "Calm down, Harry. I'll help you with whatever plan you come up with to beat your dragon." He nodded and I sat down beside him. "Want to practice the summing spell we were taught in Charms class today?" I asked him and he nodded. I put a book in front of him and told him what to do. We tried for an hour before he could finally get it to float and come closer to him. We decided to call it a night and went to sleep. Once in my room, I took out my own magical map of the school and checked everything (Sirius helped her make one of her own just in case she ever needed it but unlike Harry's, only Raina is able to see every magical place she has been to like Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, the Ministry). The only person I couldn't find was Crouch Jr. I decided to sleep and look into it tomorrow.
The next day in the courtyard, Harry argued with Ron but I ignored that and continued to look around. I saw Draco and his friends on a tree laughing. I knew they were the ones that made the badges that everyone was wearing against Harry. Harry didn't care for them and just continued. "Why so tense, Potter?" Draco called out and caught Harry's attention. I tried to pull him away but he still went to them. Honestly, why am I here? "My father and I have a bet you see? I don't think you're gonna last 10 minutes in this tournament. He disagrees. He thinks you won't last five," he said and the friends started laughing. "I don't give a damn what your father thinks, Malfoy. He's vile and cruel. And you're just pathetic," Harry said and I smirked. Harry then turned around and didn't notice Draco about to hex him. Before I could take out my wand Crouch Jr. came and hexed him. He turned Draco in a ferret. "Draco!" I said and tried to get him but Jr. was faster than me. He started bouncing him up and down and making him do weird things. When McGonagall came she turned him back and scolded Jr. After that, he took Harry with him and I left to go check on Draco.
"Draco! Are you alright?" I asked him when I finally reached him. "Go away, Raina. Go and be with your blood-traitor friends," he said angrily and my temper rose. "Draco Lucius Malfoy, you look at me when I talking to you!" I yelled at him and he turned to me with an angry face. He hates it when people call him by his full name. "Raina Medusa Black, don't call me that!" he yelled back at me. We glared at each other for a while before he calmed down and hugged me. "Father and I are worried about you. Be careful, Raina," he said and I nodded. He left and I went back to the common room.
~Day of the first task~
Harry and I have been training on teaching him the summing spell since he was planning on summoning his firebolt to fly around the dragon in the first task. I was planning on facing it head-on, as Fairy Tail during the Grand Magic Games. I knew that back then, I couldn't take on those dragons but now that I've been trained by more than 50 dragons, I think I could take one that only spits fire.
Harry and I were in the tent with the other two champions. I was excited and anxious at the same time. Harry was on the far end of the tent while I was by the entrance. I was pacing back and forth thinking of all the ways this could end. I didn't see Lucas come in as I paced back and forth. I only noticed he came in when I felt hands on my waist. I saw him but didn't have time to say anything because he crashed his lips on mine. I relaxed and kissed back.
