Raina POV
It was a good day today and father said I can go to the Weasleys in the afternoon since they invited me to go school shopping with them. He also agreed that I can stay with them during the rest of the summer. I have finished all my summer homework and my early studies so I was going to be fine. Draco still had to finish though and I would help him but dad forbade me from doing so saying that he should do it on his own. I was in my room waiting for lunch to get here because, after lunch, I get to leave. Soon after Dobby came in my room "Miss Raina, your father says to change into presentable clothes because we are having guests this afternoon," I nodded. "Thanks, Dobby. Stay here for a while and close my door please," I said and Dobby did as told. I took out a plate with chocolates in them and placed them on my table "Have one Dobby. And don't say no because we both know you're going to end up taking one anyway so take one and eat it," I said and went to my bathroom to change. I came out wearing a grey dress that ends below my knees and pale-colored short heals.
I curled my hair and put on a matching necklace. When I was finished, I went out to the kitchen and met up with mom "Mom, do you know which guests are coming this afternoon?" she smiled at me "Yes, but it's a surprise so I can't tell you," I pouted and went to the library. I noticed one very old book on one of the shelves. I pulled it out and looked through it. I noticed how it was empty. I check the back cover and it read: Tom Marvolo Riddle. I shrugged and put it back. Dad must have bought it to write notes in it but left it here instead. I guess I'll leave it there. I went to my favorite part in the library and pulled out a book. I lied down on the couch with my legs hanging from the arm of the couch. I finished reading when I heard the bell ring. I put the book back and made my way to the door. They must be the guests' dad said were coming over. I fixed myself and went to open the door "I got it, Kate," I said to the maid of the house. She nodded and left to do her chores. I opened the door and looked at who they were. It was the Prince family. "Hello mister Prince, how are you this fine afternoon?" I asked the head of the family. He had come with his son, niece, and nephew. "Very well Miss Raina, may we come in?" he asked and I smiled "Yes, of course," I said and opened the door wider for them. When they finally came in I shut the door and said "My father will be here in a moment," I left to go to his office.
"Daddy, the Prince family is here. Would you like me to send them to the dining table or leaving them in the living area?" I asked and he answered "The living area for now, until lunch is served," he said and I left him alone. I went back to the living room and said to the head "We will move to the dining area in a few until then feel free to sit here or roam around. Dobby." I called and he apparated next to me. "Yes, miss?" he said as I looked at him "Please help the Prince family with anything they need and call me when lunch is ready. I will be in the library," I said and he nodded. Then I left and headed back to the library.
At around 12:30, Dobby came in "Miss Raina, lunch is served," he said and I nodded. I left the book I was reading on the table facing down so I wouldn't forget the page I was on. I made my way to the dinner table and took my place, Lucas sat beside me while mom was on my other side. My parents sat on either end of the table. On my dad's right side the was Mr. Prince, his niece, and nephew. On his right was Draco, Lucas, then me. The maid brought in our food and we all waited for everyone to have their food before eating. Once we started eating dad started talking to Mr. Prince. I wonder why dad invited them over all of a sudden. He usually tells me beforehand if we are going to have guests over but this came as a surprise. Even Draco doesn't know what is going on. After our soup, the maid brought in the rice and curry that was today's second. After I took a bite and swallowed my food I asked father "So, father, how come you invited the Prince family over today? You usually tell me beforehand if we're having guests over," I said as I took another bite. "Glad you asked Raina. Well upon your birth, I was worried about your future, and coincidentally, Mr. Prince was looking for a bride-to-be for his son Lucas. So we came to the agreement that you two will marry when you both come of age," he said and I stopped eating. I swallowed my food and looked at him. "You made that choice for me?" I asked him and he nodded "Yes," he said and I nodded. I set my napkin next to my plate and got up "I lost my appetite," I said and left the table. I went to my room and locked the door. I packed all my things for school and put them in a pocket dimension. I did the same for my pets and then I changed into fighting clothes. I decided that before going to the Weasley's I would train in the training ground to blow off some steam. I did everything I could that was in the training room. I punched and kicked the punching bag with all my strength and speed, I fought with a clone of mine and even worked on some weapons. When I finished I went back to my room and showered. Once I finished changing I went to the front door "Where are you going, Raina?" father asked from behind me. I turned and saw him coming my way with the Prince family along with him. "To the Weasley's," I replied and continued to walk "Why?" he asked "One, because you promised me that after lunch I could go and that I could stay for the rest on the summer. And two, because I can't stand to look at you right now," I answered and went outside the door.
"You know, I'm not even that mad that you chose him because it could have been worse but I am mad that you took that choice from me. You didn't even give me a chance to choose my own, you took it from me before I was able to make sense of everything. That choice was for me to make, not yours." I turned to Lucas "And you! How long have you known?" I asked him as I went up to him "Since forever," he answered and I got angrier "And you didn't plan on telling me last year. Every chance you had and you said nothing!" I yelled and he also got angry "It wasn't my place to tell you, princess!" I glared at him "Don't call me that," I growled and he just smirked "Or what? Princess," he taunted. I made my hand into a fist and punched him in the gut "I told you now to call me that," I said and walked away from them. "If I forgive you, then I'll see you next summer because I'm not coming here at Christmas. If I haven't by then, then get used to the idea of me not coming back here," I said and sprouted wings made of ice from my back. I took off into the clouds and headed towards the Weasley house. I tried as I went there "How can he do that? Just like Jude. He's just like him," I said to myself as I continued flying above the clouds to the Weasley's.
Once I landed, I knocked on the door and waited. Molly ended up opening the door "Raina, how are you? Come in," she invited me in "Thank you, Mrs. Weasley. I'm doing alright," I said as I went inside. "We weren't expecting you for another few hours, but it's fine. Hungry?" she asked and I smiled "Yes, please. I got into a fight with my father so I left before eating," I said and she nodded. "Would you like me to help you?" I asked her and she shook her head "You go and have fun with the others. They've been waiting for you since yesterday," I giggled and left. Thanking her for letting me stay. I went to Ginny's room and took the extra bed that was placed for me. Ginny wasn't there so I just took my things out of my pocket dimension and placed them in the corner of the bed. I then went out and went to the roof where I knew they would be.
When I got there, I decided to scare the boy and feeze their asses. Once they all felt the cold, they yelled "Ah! Bloody hell?" Ron said and turned around and found me laughing. "Haha, you guys should have seen your faces," I said while laughing. They glared at me and I smiled. "So, how is everything?" I asked them and they nodded "Fine until you decided to freeze our arses', that wasn't fun," Fred Said and I giggled "Sorry guys, it was too tempting. I assume you guys finished your summer homework?" I asked them and they nodded "I need help on one of the potions homework, but other than that I'm good," Ron said and I nodded "I'll help you," I said and turned to Ginny "You ready to start this year?" I asked her and she nodded. I smirked and said "You'll get to meet Harry Potter this year," I said and she blushed "Quiet," she said to me and went downstairs. I smirked and followed her. I knew about her crush on the boy-who-lived, but her brothers were so dense that they didn't figure it out. I went to the far room in the right knowing that it is Percy's room and I knocked "Percy? Can I come in?" I asked him and I heard a groan "Sure," he said and I went in.
I saw that his room was full of ministry stuff "Wow, you're really going to go there, huh?" I said as I looked at him and he nodded while not even looking at me. "Percy, look at me," I said and he ignored me. I got a bit angry and froze what he was working on "Bloody hell, Raina! Why'd you do that?" He asked me as he stood up and glared at me "For one, look at me when I'm talking to you. Second, answer when I talk to you, and third, you don't ignore your friends when they come to see you," I said as I scolded him "I didn't ask you to come and see me," he said and my eyes widened. I pulled my lips into a thin line and then nodded slowly. He must have just realized what he said because his eyes widen but before he could say anything I spoke first. "Fine," I said and walked out of the room leaving his work frozen.
"Raina, wait.." he followed me out of his room. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back. Since he was stronger than me, he was able to stop me from moving forward. He hugged me from behind and said: "I'm sorry, Raina. I've just been so focused on that, and I'm almost done so I just got mad that you froze all my work. I'm sorry," he said and I smiled. I turned around and faced him, "It's fine. Go shower and change and come down to eat with us. Then I'll unfreeze your work so you can continue," I said and he nodded. He went back in and did as I said. I went to the kitchen and saw that lunch was almost done "Need help serving?" I asked Molly and she nodded "Yes please, Raina. Thank you so much for your help," she said and I nodded "It's no problem at all. It's the least I can do for letting me stay until the end of summer," I said and she smiled.
I served for myself, Ginny, Ron, and Percy while Molly served for herself, Fred, and George. I sat between Percy and Ginny as we ate. I liked eating with the Weasleys because it is so calm here. Not uptight like at home. Soon after an owl came through the window and I noticed that it was dad's owl. I took the letter "Stay Abraxas," I said and opened the letter father sent me
Raina,
I'm sorry about what happened today. I was only thinking of your future. It was wrong of me to take that choice from you. But if you can give Lucas Prince a chance, I think you two would get along and accept this agreement. Please think about it and I hope you see you again soon
Lucius Malfoy
"Who is it from, Raina?" Ron asked "Dad," I said and he nodded. I took out parchment and a quill. I wrote a letter to my dad explaining that it was very wrong of him to do that to me, and what is getting me even angrier is that he isn't even trying to terminate the agreement. I told him that if I could help it them I won't be seeing him until I have forgiven him for what he did. I gave Abraxas a treat and tied the letter to his leg sending it back to father. I grabbed the letter and took it to the fireplace and dropped it in. I then walked back to the table and continued to eat in peace.
Later that night, while everyone was in their rooms, I waited for Mr. Weasley to get home. I wanted to be the first one to greet him when he came home and thank him for letting me stay. I read one of the books I brought with me as I waited. After about two hours, Mr. Weasley finally came home. I stood up and went up to him "Oh Raina, what are you still doing awake?" he asked since it was midnight "I wanted to be the first to greet you Mr. Wealsey. And thank you for letting me stay," I said as I hugged him. He hugged me back and nodded "Of course. You can stay with us anytime you like, Raina. You're always welcome here," he said and I smiled.
Mr. Weasleys knew me better than anyone here so he always knew when something was wrong with me. And at times like these, it was a bad thing "So you gonna tell me what's wrong?" he asked me as he sat down while I brought him his food. "You always know when something is wrong," I said and he nodded "Well, I'd be a pretty lousy father if I didn't know when my kids are troubled," he said and I sighed. "Dad and I got into a fight. When I was born, he went out and found someone to marry me off to when I came of age. It just so happened that the one he chose was the heir to the Prince family, Lucas. I met him last year. Dad invited his family over for lunch this afternoon and when I asked him why he finally told me that I was to marry Lucas. I ended up not eating and packed my stuff to come here. Before I left, I asked Lucas how long had he known and he said his whole life. So I got mad because that meant that he could have told me that anytime last year and he never did," Mr. Weasley nodded and I continued "Then while I was here eating with your family, he sent me a letter saying that he was sorry for what he did but I should give Lucas a chance. He doesn't even consider terminating the agreement he just wants me to agree to what he said just because he is my father," tears were coming down my eyes by now. It did hurt me that he was so much like Jude. I was hoping he would different but I was wrong.
Mr. Wealsey hugged me and started comforting me "It's alright, Raina. It is alright," h said and after a while, I stopped crying. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be such a burden," I said and got up. He stood up as well and hugged me again "You're never a burden, Raina. I think of you as my daughter, nothing you do would ever make me think you're a burden." he said and I smiled. "Goodnight, Mr. Weasley. See you in the morning," I said and went up to Ginny's room and went to sleep. I fed Venom and Winter and then went to sleep.
~At Privet Drive~
Harry POV
I was in my room thinking about what happened tonight. A house-elf comes here and tells me not to go to school, he is the one who took all the letters my friends sent me and he now caused the Dursleys to lock me in my room. He also said that only the daughter of his master treats him like an equal but doesn't free him because she fears her dad would get mad. Well, no matter what he says, I'm going to Hogwarts this year.
