Raina POV
I went to the cafeteria the next morning after my morning routine and found Harry staring at the fire, not eating. Ron was with his brothers eating. I saw Ron turn to look at Harry and I knew that Harry had told him about seeing his parents and even took him to it as well. But I also knew he didn't tell him about what I said. Ron got up and went to Harry. I walked up to them and heard Ron ask Harry if he wanted to play chess "No," Harry responded. "Wanna go and visit Hagrid?" Ron asked and Harry responded no again. "Harry, I know what you're thinking, but don't. There something not right about that mirror," Ron said and Harry nodded. But I knew he was lying. "That mirror is addictive to people like us. Who long to see people that we miss. It's alright to go back, Harry but remember that you must live in the present as well. Some things can't be changed," he nodded and I went to eat breakfast. I then grabbed a plate and took it to him."Here, eat something," I said and left him to think.
~Later that night~
Third Person POV
Harry was in front of the mirror again looking at his parents "Here again, Harry," Dumbledore said as Harry turned around and looked at him. He saw that Raina was next to him "I see that you, like so many before you, have discovered the delights of the Mirror of Erised. I trust now that you realized what it does?" "Raina told me it shows a heart's most desperate desires," Harry answered and Dumbledore nodded "Remember this Harry, this mirror gives us neither knowledge or truth. Men have wasted away in front of it. Even gone mad. That is why tomorrow it will be moved to a new home. And I have to ask you, Harry, to never look for it again," Dumbledore said and Harry nodded. "I've already talked to Raina about letting it go as well and she has come to terms with it," Harry looked at Raina and saw that she had tears going down her eyes as she got closer to the mirror and looked at it. "Goodbye," she mumbled and shot ice at the mirror. Once the mirror was iced she slid it to the door and left it there for when Dumbledore decided to move it "It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry...and forget to live," he said. "I'll be going to Hagrid now Professor. Summon me when you need me," she said and walked out the door. Harry felt bad for her since he knew what it meant to her to see her heart's desire. Harry went to his dorm and Dumbledor took the mirror.
Raina POV
The next day, I spent it with Hagrid caking care of the creatures in the dark forest. I like to talk to the centaurs most because they use the stars as guidance, and stars are what I am good at reading. As the months went by, final exams started coming closer. Snape started giving me harder work to do in potions class because the theoretical stuff was too easy and I would fall asleep in class. McGonagall started teaching me how to turn animals into inanimate objects. While I was studying in the Great Hall with Ron, Harry, and Hermione, Neville came in jumping. "Leg-locker curse?" Ron said confused "Malfoy," Harry responded and just got angry. I made my way to Draco "Go and apologize," I said sternly and he looked at me like I was crazy "No, he deserves it," he said and I smacked him on the head "You either apologize or you get help from someone else for the final exams. You choose," I said and he shook his head "I'll find someone to help me because I'm not apologizing," he answered and I sighed "Fine then, see you later," I said and walked away. I got back when Ron was reading the back of his card. Before they left I undid the leg-lock curse and ran to catch up to Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Once in the library, she brought a huge book and called it light reading. She flipped through the pages and found the name she was looking for. "Nicholas Flamen is the only known maker of the sorcerer's stone," "The what?" both Ron and Harry asked, "Don't you guys read?" I said to them and they rolled their eyes. "The sorcerer's stone can make metal turn into pure gold and produce the Elixir of Life, which makes the drinker immortal," I finished what Hermione was going to read about. "I also read about it but I had forgotten his name," I clarified as I looked at Hermione. "That's what Fluffy's guarding on the third floor. That's what's under the trapped door. The Sorcerer's Stone."
That night they went to Hagrid to talk to him about what they found out. I went with them for two reasons. One, was because I had to go to Hagrid's today anyway and two because I was interested to see how this would end. Hermione knocked on his door and Hagrid came out with an apron and mittens on. "Hagrid," Harry started and Hagrid interrupted "Oh, hello, sorry, don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today," he said and before he closed the door all three of them yelled: "We know about the Sorcerer's Stone!" "Oh," he said and let us in. "We think Snape's trying to steal it," Harry said and I sighed.
"Snape? Blimey, you're not still on about that, are you?" Harry asked and I nodded "We know he's after the stone. We just don't know why." "Snape is one of the teachers protecting the stone. He's not about to steal it." "What?" Harry asked "You heard. Right. Come on now. I'm a bit preoccupied," Hagrid said and started moving things off the table "One of the teachers?" Harry asked. "Of course! Ther are other things defending the Stone, aren't there?" Hermione said "Spells, enchantments," she finished and Hagrid nodded. "Waste of bloody time, if you ask me. Ain't no one getting past Fluffy," he said and I rolled my eyes 'No one without a song' I said mentally and I knew Neva agreed with me. "Ain't a soul knows how except for me and Dumbledore," then he scolded himself again, saying that he shouldn't have said that.
Then we heard rattling in a pot and looked at it "Oh right," He went into the closet in the back and took out a box "Here you go, Raina. Open it in your dorm later," he said and I nodded. Then he put his hand in the pot and took out a dragon egg. I was shocked at what he had. He had a Norwegian Ridgeback. "Hagrid, what exactly is that?" Harry and before Hagrid could answer, Ron, interrupted him "I know what that is! But Hagrid, how did you get one?" he asked and I looked at him confused "I won it. Off a stranger, I met down at the pub. seemed quite glad to be rid of it." We watched as it hatched and start looking around. 'Mommy?' I heard him speak. Did I forget to mention that I can speak dragon? Well, now you know. Anyway, Hermione soon spoke "Is that...a dragon?" she asked. "That's not just a dragon. That's a Norwegian Ridgeback," both Ron and I said that the same time "Charlie works with them in Romania," I said as Ron looked at the dragon excitedly. 'Who's my mommy?' the dragon asked as he started looking around. He then turned to me 'Are you my mommy?' he asked me and I shook my head "Nid, nuz rok los, (No, but he is)" I said while pointing at Hagrid. He went straight to him as Hagrid started petting him. "Hello, Norbert," Hagrid said and I spoke to the dragon again "Dreh hi med nii? (Do you like it?)" I asked him and he purred. I was too late to stop him from sneezing so he ended up firing up Hagrid's beard. "Kogaan hi," I said and he replied 'Sorry,' I smiled and looked at Hagrid, "He says sorry," I told him and they all looked at me confused "You can understand him?" Harry asked and I nodded. "He loves the name by the way," before they could ask me anything though, Hagrid saw Draco outside his window.
We decided that I would escort them to their common room before going back to him and going into the dark forest. "Hagrid always wanted a dragon. He told me when I first met him," "It's crazy. And worse, Malfoy knows," Ron said as I looked at them "Is that bad?" Harry asked and Ron nodded. We stopped in front of McGonagall. "Good evening," She said and Draco came out from behind her. I glared at him and looked at her. We all stood in front of her desk as she spoke "Nothing, I repeat, nothing gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken. Each." I looked at her and waited for her to notice. Once she did, she said: "Except for miss Raina. She is the only student in the entire school to have permission from both Snape and Dumbledore to walk around at this hour because she was assigned to help him from the moment classes end to after they go into the forbidden forest. It has been this way since the quidditch game in November," I nodded and looked at them. "Professor, they were helping Hagrid and me with something too risky to use magic. They just finished and Hagrid sent me to escort them back to their common room," I said trying to change her mind. "That doesn't change anything, Miss Raina. 50 points will be taken from each of these four students," I sighed and nodded. "Sorry miss. Did you say four?" she nodded "Yes Mr. Malfoy. All four of you since you too were out of bed," she said and I glared at him "And to ensure it doesn't happen again all four of you will receive detention," They all looked shocked and I just smirked. "Ms. Raina will escort you back to Hagrid and you will spend your detention with him," she said and I nodded. "You may go now," she said and I started walking back to Hagrid. When I got back, Norbert was being taken by someone else and Hagrid was being held back 'Mommy! Mommy! Don't let them take me! Mommy!' he yelled and I got angry. I shot ice ate the man and knocked him out. Then another person tried to take Norbert while another helped the one I hit. I hit them again and ran up to them "What are you doing to Norbert?!" I yelled at them and I grabbed Norbert and held him close to me for safety. "We are taking him to Romania, for him to be raised with his kind," said a familiar voice. I turned to the person and saw that it was Charlie.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't ice you right now, Charlie?" I yelled at him and he put his hands up in surrender "We were told to take the dragon, it is a menace here. This is a school, not a training ground for dragons," he said "But you should know better than anyone to not take a baby from his mother. Norbert is scared to death because of you!" I yelled at him and he looked down. "I'm sorry, Raina. But even so, I have to take him with me," I sighed and put Norbert's face close to mine "Hi fen kos yuvon voth rok. Ahrk zu'u fen kos til wah spaan hi (You will be fine with him. And I will be there to protect you)," I said to him and he nodded. I made my way to Hagrid and let him say goodbye to Norbert "It's for the best," I said and he nodded. I made a clone of myself and gave her Norbert as she made her way to Charlie "I want to know everything on him. All his progress and his health and even his social skills. If anything is missing, Charlie, then I will make sure you suffer and never have kids of your own," I said to him and he nodded and he led my clone to the broomsticks and were gone soon after.
I looked at the others "Well come on. We are going into the forest tonight," I said and we all started moving. They know not to question me when I am in a bad mood. We went into the forest and stopped when found the unicorn blood we were looking for. It is about time that thing to start feeding again "This is unicorn blood, we find one dead every few weeks. This one is hurt," I said. "We are going to find it and heal the poor beast. Ron, Hermione, you'll come with me. Harry, Malfoy, you're going with Raina," we all nodded and I said "You take Fang, I can't worry about these two and a dog," Hagrid nodded and I walked in the opposite with Draco and Harry behind me.
As we were walking Draco started talking "Wait till father hears about this. This is servant's stuff," Draco said as Harry only rolled his eyes and said "If I didn't know better, Draco, I'd say you were scared," I scoffed and said "He isn't scared, Harry. He is terrified," I said with a smirk on my face "I am not scared," he said while we were walking "This better be a lesson for you Draco. How do you think Slytherin will feel when they find out that because you wanted to get Gryffindor in trouble, you cost us 50 points. Making us go behind Hufflepuff, they might not touch you since you are a Malfoy but I can tell you that they won't be very happy about it," I said and continued to walk. I stopped when I felt something wrong. "What is it?" Harry asked and they looked to the side.
There, in front of us, was Voldermort. Suking the blood out of a unicorn.
