The apathetic Armand Bernie regained his spirits as he encountered this uninvited guest, he had a bad feeling about Charles White hobnobbing with someone else’s wife, “Hey, funny you should show up, what are you up to this time?”

Charles had no intention of carrying on a conversation with him, instead he turned to Abbott Baron, “Please help me circulate this notice.”

“Stop pretending to be serious, here you are acting like a gentleman when it’s obvious you’re dirty at heart, how can you be so shameless?”

“Me? Shameless?” he sneered, it was not his initial plan to entertain Armand’s remarks, but he had a temper like every human being, “Was it me who cheated on your wife? Is that why you are so full of hatred for me?”

“You…”

Boyce Shawn restrained Armand, he didn’t want the two of them to end up in a fight, “You are both prominent figures in society, have you no shame in saying such unkind words?”

Charles looked at the two, “Boyce, he provoked me first. He may be an invalid, but that doesn’t mean he has a bad character, okay?”

Boyce looked over his lap and snorted, then dragged Armand with him to leave. Armand couldn’t let this go and tried to break free of Boyce’s grip.

“Don’t cause any more trouble, are you really going to pick a fight with him right now?”

Boyce dissuaded him and pulled him, “Let’s go eat.”

Armand held his breath, “I don’t feel like eating.”

“Still, you have to eat, do you think you can be alive without food?” Boyce was disappointed that he couldn’t get in tune, why were they torturing themselves like this?

“If it wasn’t for the lack of manpower to lure Declan into our trap, I would have used some men to investigate into Dolores and Theresa’s whereabouts. I’ll assign some people on the job once this is all over.”

Actually, it wasn’t for lack of manpower, but that he already had people out to investigate.

“I’m just upset with Charles’ tone of voice from earlier.”

“I know, but we don’t have to rush to teach him a lesson right now. He’ll fall into our hands sooner or later.” Boyce patted his shoulders and comforted him.

After Armand relented, he and Boyce walked across the street to a breakfast joint in the building across the street.

The restaurant was located on the third floor, and sitting anywhere around the window wall would provide a great view of the outside. The two sat down at a random table and Boyce began to order. He ordered 3 servings of the lean meat century egg congee, known to be a renowned dish of the place, along with other delicious food. When Boyce handed the order form to the waiter, the waiter commented, “One to go, please.”

“Very well, please wait a moment, we will serve you very soon,” the waiter politely left his table.

Boyce drank the glass of free water he had been provided and set it down on the table, he looked at Armand and asked, “I’ve noticed you seem a little off, what’s wrong?”

Armand sighed, “Don’t you think the three of us are weirded out?”

“How so?” Boyce frowned and thought “where is this coming from again?”

“Getting to an age like ours, what do we have left besides our careers?”

It was the first time Boyce had seen Armand so negative, as this was the most cheerful of the three. Although he sometimes talked a lot, he wouldn’t feel right if he kept quiet.

He would rather have Armand tease him about the fact that he had never slept with a woman, so that he could see him return to his former free and easy self.

With Armand like this, Boyce couldn’t help but lose his appetite. His mouth watered as he waited for the food to arrive, but now he had the sensation of chewing on something tasteless.

The sound of breaking glass echoed in the air, a new waitress had accidentally bumped into a customer coming in from breakfast. The glass of water on the waitress’s tray had spilled on the customer, and the glass was now shattered on the floor.

“I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,” the new waitress quickly apologized.

This voice sounded familiar to Boyce, he turned his body and saw Jasmine, who was wearing a waitress uniform with a white stitched lace apron tied around her waist. She bowed and apologized to the customer.

It was the male customer who had not seen her when he got up from his seat and bumped into her. The manager advised her when she started work, “The customers who dine here mostly work in the big companies in the area, they all have respectable jobs. Whatever happens, we must apologize first as service providers. The customer always comes before us.”

This was a request from her manager, so Jasmine acted accordingly.

However, the middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes showed no mercy: “What are your eyes for? I still have an important client meeting later, how am I going to meet my client in this mess you’ve created?”

Jasmine apologized profusely, “I’m so sorry.”

“What’s the point of apologizing?” This middle-aged man wore glasses, seemed the casual, easy-going type. Who knew he was so difficult to talk to.

At that moment, the manager approached them, “I’m so sorry for the poor service. It’s your first day working here, you are still not very familiar with the environment, please bear with me.”

The man snorted coldly, “Do you have any idea how expensive this suit is? Now it’s full of water spots, how am I supposed to meet my client in this state?”

The manager continued apologetically, “I am so sorry, I will definitely train you better, please forgive us.”

“Is saying sorry and asking for forgiveness the right attitude to the matter?” The middle-aged man was reluctant to forgive them.

“How do you plan to settle it then?” Boyce turned toward them. This was the financial and business district of B-Town, the men dining here were virtually all in suits and ties. The women also wore very formal clothes, it was the norm in this sector. Boyce was not someone from the circle, he just wore casual clothes, not even a uniform since he did not work in an office. However, for someone 6 feet tall to appear like this, he completely outshone the middle-aged man. In addition, he had a handsome, cold, expressionless face that gave off a strong aura to others.

With a status like his, it would be common for criminals to raise their guns and knives at him, a normal person could not compare to such a fierce physique.

The middle-aged man looked at Boyce, “Who are you?”.

This was not the first time Boyce had eaten here, in the past he had often come here to eat with Matthew Nelson. The manager was also familiar with Boyce, after all, the WY Tower was right across the street. She smiled, “Captain Boyce.”

Boyce responded, but looked over at Jasmine and asked, “What’s wrong?”

This man had wanted money by being unreasonable. If it was really Jasmine’s fault, then he should get an amount. On the other hand, she would not be entitled to a single penny if he was wrong.

The middle-aged man froze for a moment. This was a business area, Captain, Captain who, how come he didn’t know anything about it?

He looked at the manager fiercely, “Don’t try to scare me.”

Jasmine glanced at the domineering middle-aged man and recounted what exactly had happened, “He was carrying a tray of water to be served at that table for the new customer, and he sat here.”

Jasmine pointed to where the man sat, “He got up from his seat looking at his phone as he walked in this direction…”

“What nonsense are you talking?” the middle-aged man was now anxious.

Boyce swept his gaze over the right hand of the man holding the phone. Armand couldn’t stand such a shameless bully, he leaned back in his chair lazily, “Where do you work?”

The middle aged man looked at Armand and then turned to Boyce, the two looked like they weren’t people he should be messing with. He snorted, “I guess I’m just unlucky.”

Then he left immediately.

Armand always liked to be sarcastic with his words, “Don’t go yet, why are you leaving so soon? We haven’t even paid for your suit yet, do you know the way to WY Group? We will always be waiting for you.”
