Sean acted like he was too embarrassed to speak and sat quietly on the couch.

As if held in suspense, Marina became anxious.

“Why don’t you talk?” Marina was about to yell at him.

Sean pulled her close to him and wrapped his arms around her shoulder, “Mom, do you know why I haven’t found a girlfriend until now?”

“Why?” rebuked Marina in her heart. She wouldn’t need to ask him if she had known the reason.

Sean played coy, “Forget it.”

“Forget it?” Marina was so angry she almost stood up. She looked at her son and said, “Why are you being so shy? Don’t act ashamed like a woman – are you still my son?” Sean blinked, wondering why his tone sounded like Jeffery’s.

Was it true that a couple acted the same way after spending a lot of time together?

“Hurry up and tell me. Who is it?” Marina was a little impatient.

She was really annoyed with Sean.

“Then what’s it about?” Sean intentionally showed a cold expression and asked as if hurt by Marina’s reaction. “We grew up together and have been close since we were young. Our families are also close. Besides, she’s someone who could meet your requirements, not to mention her family background, which is similar to ours. Sean had already thought about it before he returned; he had to stop Jeffery from separating Matthew and Dolores.

“Is it too late to tell you now?” Sean acted as if he was unaware of Marina’s concern and intentionally asked, “Do you think we’re not right for each other?”

Marina quickly explained, “No.”

“Then what is it?” I’ve already confirmed that Chloe doesn’t have a boyfriend, so it’s a good time for me to confess to her. Mom, aren’t you willing to help me?” Sean pretended to be disappointed.

Of course, Marina didn’t want to keep her son from being together with someone she liked. It was just that Eddie and Jeffery were hell-bent on Chloe marrying Matthew.

Sean acted as if he was sad in front of Marina. He lowered his head and covered it with both hands. Speaking through the hollows of his fingers in a muffled voice, “I already checked and made sure she doesn’t have a boyfriend. How could this have happened? And obviously, I was the one who met her first…”

Sean was an actor, and starred in many dramas before this. Therefore, he could easily fool Marina with his acting skills.

Marina quickly placated her son, “I’ll figure something out.”

Sean abruptly raised his head and looked at Marina, “Who was she arranged with?

How come I’ve never heard of anything?”.

Marina looked down and replied, “I don’t know. I’ve only heard it from Mrs. Chambers.”

Marina was aware of Sean’s relationship with Matthew.

Sean would be shocked if she told him about this. Actually, she had her own selfish motives as well. If Sean knew that Jeffery was trying to marry Chloe off to Matthew, she was worried that Sean would leave her for Matthew.

Judging from their close relationship, Marina was sure that Sean really would do that.

But Marina didn’t want her son to be unhappy.

Sean fixed his gaze on Marina. Actually, he wanted to know Marina’s opinion of Jeffery’s arrangement for Chloe to marry Matthew. He wondered if she would be frank with him, but unfortunately, Marina didn’t say anything.
