Faced with Doloresâ questions, Matthew was in no hurry to explain himself. Instead, he leaned back in the car seat drunkenly. He narrowed his eyes, as if he hadnât heard clearly. âHmm?â he muttered.
Dolores pursed her lips, âHe wants to set you up with that woman?â This time, Dolores didnât refer to Jeffery as âuncleâ.
His actions today had crossed her boundaries.
Matthew shifted his body, leaning his body back casually, âProbably.â
Dolores, ââ¦â
Suddenly, Dolores stopped the car next to the road. She turned to look at him, âDonât you have anything else to say to me?â
Matthew slowly raised his eyes and met her angry gaze. His eyes carried a tinge of laughter, and he asked, âWhat shall I say?â
Dolores felt a little hurt. She wasnât asking much of him. Relationship-wise, she just hoped they could trust each other.
She was willing to trust him.
However, on the basis of being responsible with this relationship, shouldnât she give him an explanation?
She really wanted to protect this relationship, butâ¦.
She withdrew her gaze. She turned off the engine, âYou drive back.â
She felt she needed to calm down a little. She was afraid she couldnât control her emotions being in the same room with him.
She got out of the car, closed the door and walked down the pedestrian path.
She lifted her head, trying to let the breeze wake her up.
Matthew got out of the car and chased after her. He grabbed her by the arm, âWhere are you going?â
Dolores tried to pull Matthewâs arm away, but he held her tightly.
âCan I have some time alone?â She said quietly, making use of what little rationality she had left.
âAre you jealous?â
âNo.â Dolores was quick to deny.
âThen why are you angry?â
âIâm not angry.â
âYou are.â
Dolores looked at him, who was wearing a full black suit. His strong, straight silhouette could be clearly seen. At this moment, there was no hint of emotion on his face.
Was he seriously not upset and didnât know why she was reacting this way?
âYes, I am upset.â Dolores poked him in the chest, âDo you know that I really value our relationship, not just for our children, but for this placeâ¦â
She increased her strength and poked at the position of his heart, âBecause in this place, there is a place for you. I really want to trust you, and trust our relationship. You know that? Your attitude makes me feel very insecure, very uncomfortable, very afraid. Iâm afraid that this relationship is all my imagination. Iâve seen Jessicaâs failed marriage. Regarding relationships, I feel like Iâm walking on thin ice. However, towards you, I feel like giving everything I can to keep this relationship going. But now I realize, this is all maybe just me blindly contributing on my own. Matthew, stop pretending to be nice to me. Letâs get this over with, this is not what I want!â
She used all her energy to push his hand away, she just wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. She was afraid she would lose even more control if she kept confronting him.
She didnât want to become a spiteful woman because of him. But at this point, she had already become one.
Matthew stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her waist. Dolores kicked in his arms, âLet go, let goâ¦â.
Matthew grabbed her hands and pulled her tight against his chest, âStop this nonsense.â At this age, she had never explained herself to anyone.
He wasnât good at it, and he didnât care either.
If people liked to think a certain way, heâd let them think that way.
âIf I explain, does that mean I havenât done anything to betray you?â His eyes were dark as a bottomless lake.
Dolores was taken aback. Then she opened her eyes, what did he mean by this?
Her lips couldnât help trembling.
âOn the other hand, if I donât explain, does it mean I betrayed you?â
Matthew held her head with his palm, âHearing you say all this, I feel very happy.â
Without knowing since when, Doloresâ eyes filled with tears, and she opened her eyes stubbornly.
âI have done nothing that is not loyal to you. I just like a girl. Sheâs not from an outstanding family background, sheâs not impressively educated, sheâs not the best among all the women Iâve seen. But she is her, she has found a place in my heart. Sometimes Iâm confused too, why have I fallen in love with such a woman?â.
Dolores, ââ¦â
âIn your eyes, am I really useless?â
âWho said youâre useless?â
A light shone in Doloresâ eyes, âThen what do you think Iâm good at?â
Matthewâs gaze moved down from her face, to her neck, to her chest, and his gaze landed on her lower bodyâ¦.
Doloresâ face burned red, she withdrew her hands, âQuick let go of me, I want to go home.â
Matthewâs hands that were on her head, slid down and brushed her spine. Finally he fell to his waist. With a sharp jerk, Doloresâ body immediately fell over his, and there wasnât an inch of distance between them.
He placed his face over hers, his lips lightly brushing her earlobes, âIâm saying youâre very good at giving me children, why are you blushing?â
âIâm not blushing.â replied Dolores. Her look nowâ¦.
âAm I blind then?â
âYes. You are very blind.â
Matthew, ââ¦â
âIâm ugly, and poor, I donât stand out. But yet you embrace me like this, if youâre not blind then what are you?â
Matthew, ââ¦â
So she was waiting for him to say this.
âYouâre ugly, poor, and youâre not someone outstanding. But I like you like that.â
Dolores pushed him away, âWho do you think you are.â
Matthew kissed her lips, when Dolores resisted, he bit her lip.
âHissâ¦â
Dolores felt pain, and her strength to struggle waned. He went further and tangled his tongue with hers. He forced her hand into his shirt, and put his hand on her breast. In an instant, he said, âI give you my heart.â
Dolores felt a little pain in her heart. She said dejectedly, âI just want mutual trust.â
âI know.â
Matthew released her and lightly kissed the corner of her eye, âMaybe he found out about your relationship with Victoria.â
Dolores couldnât put her head around this all of a sudden. After a few seconds, she managed to understand what he had just said. She nodded her head, âI thought so too.â
If he hadnât, Jeffery wouldnât have changed his attitude so abruptly.
This was what Matthew was worried about, and now it had happened.
He needed to know what Jeffery knew.
He put the car keys in Doloresâ hand, âYou go back first.â
âAnd you?â she asked.
But she quickly understood what he wanted to do.
She needed to know how much Jeffery knew about this affair and how he had discovered it.
Dolores grabbed the car keys and headed toward him. Matthew stayed on the shoulder and made a phone call to Boyce.
Dolores turned around, âCome back sooner.â Matthew agreed.
She opened the car door and got into the car. Then she started the engine and drove slowly down the road.
She looked at him through the car window.
Matthew held up his phone, his gaze met hers in the air, âIâm on the road YT, come pick me up.â
Quickly, his gaze broke, and Dolores could only look at him through the rearview mirror.
His body was getting smaller and smaller.
When she could no longer see him, she just retracted her gaze and paid attention to the road ahead.
When the car reached the turning point next to the villa, suddenly a black shadow emerged from a dark spot, and Dolores quickly stepped on the brake.
Creeakâ¦
The screech of tires echoed through the air.
