Since Mistress Leslie and Sampson had nothing to do, they decided to return to B-town.
The trip back was uneventful and no unforeseen events arose to interfere with their journey.
They didnât have much time left as New Yearâs Eve was just around the corner.
Boyce had to keep an eye on Sampson. So his car went last while Armand and Theresa sat in a car with Mrs. Leslie. Matthew and his family of four were in a camper.
The roadside scenery was somewhat stagnant, without the vitality of spring, the bright green of summer and the fruits of autumn, only a very cold wind remained.
It was a quiet trip. It only took them half a day to complete half the journey. It was much faster than the previous trip.
At noon, they rested at the service area for lunch.
The service area was very busy because it was nearing the end of the year, the parking lot was full of cars and there were all kinds of people standing everywhere.
Simona wanted to go to the washroom, so Dolores took her there. On the other hand, Matthew took Samuel to the restaurant. Armand and Theresa supported Mrs. Leslie and took her there as well.
Sampson had woken up. He was guarded by people all around, they were not there to guard him, but to prevent him from committing suicide or escaping.
Boyce ordered his men to watch Sampson. He then went to the washroom before looking for them in the dining room. Mrs. Leslie was in the best of health, as she was recovering well, especially as she was in good spirits. Armandâs marriage had always worried her.
Now that Armand was married, she was free of worries and so she was in good spirits.
âGrandma looks younger.â Boyce sat down and said.
âYou always know how to make an old lady happy.â Mrs. Leslie looked angry, but she was pleased.
âIâm telling the truth.â Boyce made Mrs. Leslie laugh.
Since the food in the service area didnât taste good, Boyce popped a bite in his mouth and said, âLetâs just eat something first, weâll have a good meal when we get back to B-Town.â
Armand stood up, âI want to buy something. Theresa, please take care of Grandma.â Theresa nodded.
âMr. Bernie, I saw someone selling jacks, please help me buy a box when I come in,â Samuel said.
Armand looked at him, âDo you like them?â.
Samuel shook his head, âMy sister likes to eat, but sheâs not picky, she eats anything that tastes good.â
Armand agreed to help him. Then he turned and walked out of the restaurant. He looked at Boyce through the glass door. Boyce was talking to Samuel. Looking at his lips, he seemed to be saying, Samuel loves his sister.
Boyce paid no attention to Armand, so Armand let out a sigh of relief and pulled the hood of his down jacket over his head. Then, he headed toward the car with Sampson inside.
When he reached the car, he looked around. After making sure no one was paying attention to him, he reached out and pulled the car door open. Inside the car were the two men Boyce had ordered to watch Sampson.
Seeing that it was Armand, the bodyguards inside the car saluted, âMr. Bernie.â
Armand glanced at Sampson who was positioned underneath and laughed, âYou guys go eat first, Iâll keep an eye on him.â
âDidnât Mr. Shawn say he was coming to fill in for us later?â
âHe told me to come, why donât you guys trust me?â. Armand raised his eyebrows and said in disgust.
The bodyguard waved his hands repeatedly, âNo, noâ¦â.
Armand interrupted him violently, âThen why donât you get out of the car quickly?â.
The two bodyguards got out of the car and Armand got in. At the same time, he ordered them, âEat quickly.â
âOkay.â
After seeing that the two bodyguards were gone, Armand closed the car door and sat down. He looked at Sampson with a wicked grin and flicked his wrist, âWe meet again.â
Sampson stared at him, wanting to move, but unable to, as they had pinned his arms and legs to keep him from running away and killing himself. They even put a splint inside his mouth so he wouldnât even have a chance to bite his tongue to kill himself. Boyce said that, if he wished to die, he would have to wait to return to City B and be sentenced before he could die.
By then, if he didnât want to die, Boyce would still put him on the spot.
âWhy canât you move?â asked Armand with a deliberate smile.
Sampson knew he didnât even have the ability to die now, he was like meat on the spit, only at the mercy of others.
He just closed his eyes because he didnât want to look at Armand.
âHah.â Armand scoffed, pulled out his phone and deliberately took some pictures, âDo you think, if I took twoâ¦naked pictures and made them into big banners and then put them in front of the company and the Herbert Family villa, it would be funny?â
Sampson opened his eyes and looked at Armand with a deadly stare. If he could move now, he would definitely fight Armand. He was willing to die, but he thought it would be a sin if he put his family in trouble.
âHaha.â Armand crouched down and looked at him, âHow come youâre afraid? When you threatened me, why didnât you think youâd have a day like this, hmm?â
Sampsonâs hands clenched into fists and the corners of his eyes twitched.
It was clear at that moment he was angry.
Armand pinched his face, patted it, snapped it, and said twice, âWhy is your face as rough as a dogâs ass?â
Sampsonâs five sensory organs twisted. He looked awful.
Seeing him angry, Armand brightened. He leaned in even closer, âHit my grandmother? Hmm?â
âBang!â
After the crack, the glass of the car window shook. Sampsonâs face instantly swelled and blood spurted from the corner of his lips.
Armand waved his hand. His wrist was numb from the snapping, âDamn it, hitting you with my hand is a waste, people like you donât deserve to have a face!â
Sampsonâs body twitched several times as he was very angry.
âAre you comfortable being slaughtered?â Armand deliberately pinched his red, swollen face.
Sampsonâs mouth hissed in pain.
Knock Knock â
Suddenly, the glass of the car window took a knock.
He turned his head. Since the window glass was covered with a black film, the one outside could not see what was inside and the one inside could not see what was outside.
He reached out and pressed a button to roll down the car window. All he could see was Boyce half leaning against the body of the car, âWhat needed to be done has already been done, why donât you go eat.â
When Armand said he was going out to buy something, Boyce knew what he wanted to do under the pretext of going out. He didnât stop him because he understood him.
If he didnât let him vent his anger, he would keep thinking about it.
Armand opened the car door and got out, coughing lightly to hide his embarrassment, âAre you done eating?â
Boyce pouted with his mouth, âIâm done eating. Iâm afraid, if you kill someone, I wonât be able to go back and explain.â
He was able to leave for so long on the pretext of following Sampson, if he came back without bringing Sampson, he was going to be punished.
Armand snorted coldly, âYou will not die.â After saying that, he quickly left and bought a fruit from the fruit shop as he walked into the restaurant.
When he entered the restaurant, Samuel was dumbfounded, didnât he ask Armand to buy a box? How come he only bought one?
Since it was also very big, how was he going to peel it?
Armand smiled, âThe whole one is fresh.â
Samuel blinked and asked, âDo you want to peel the skin?â.
The jackfruit was delicious, but it only had little flesh and a large seed in the center.
The most annoying thing is peeling its skin.
Armand had gotten it off his chest with Sampson and was in a good mood at the time.
âIâll peel it, Iâll peel it. Ah, yes, whereâs your father?â Armand set the big jackfruit on the floor and pulled out a chair to sit in.
âHeâs going to get my mom.â
Dolores had been taking Simona to the restroom for quite a while, so, Matthew went to get them.
The service area was crowded on a normal day. During New Yearâs Eve, it was busier and there was a line to go to the restroom.
Matthew frowned as he got out of the car, as he was not used to such a crowded environment. He waited for Dolores and her daughter on the other side of the road. After a while, Dolores came out of the washroom with her daughter.
Simona let go of Doloresâ hand when she saw Matthew, then shouted âDaddyâ¦â.
She ran too fast until she ran into a woman standing on the sidewalk eating instant noodles. The woman may not have been holding the instant noodles properly in her hand, and she spilled the whole bowl of instant noodles when Simona, a little girl, collided with her. The instant noodles casually spilled all over the woman.
The woman was wearing a short white woolen coat and this spill caused a large amount of red oil to stick to her clothes. The womanâs face changed and she cursed, âDonât you walk with your eyes?â.
Dolores quickly ran to her and was about to apologize.
Simona felt she might have done something wrong, so she apologized, âMaâam, Iâm sorryâ¦â
âBang!â
