Tom wondered why Charles wanted to keep watching Lacey if it wasnât her.
âDo as I say,â Charles didnât explain. He didnât think Lacey did, but she still had someone to keep an eye on her.
Matthew wouldnât be so quick to say something like that, and he must have found something about it. If the person who kidnapped Dolores last time was the one who did this, the person wouldnât do such a low-grade affair that would inadvertently alert the enemy and get no benefit from it.
Dolores came here not too long ago, and offended no one. She did, however, have a conflict with Lacey. Although her problem had been solved at that time, Laceyâs dress store had closed.
She was understandably resentful about it.

The elevator dinged, and the elevator door slowly opened. A man in a leather jacket, a cigarette between his lips, stood in front of the elevator door. He hummed coldly at the sight of a man in a wheelchair in the elevator, as if muttering a limp.
Tom immediately became angry and wanted to punch the man, but then he was stopped by Charles. It was not worthy of him to bother arguing with the man. The man was a ruffian by the way he dressed.
It was better to offend gentlemen, not villains.
Tom glared hatefully at the man in the leather jacket and then led Charles out of the development.
gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cøm brings endless adventures âThere are all kinds of madmen in this world. That man is uneducated,â Tom spat.
Charles lifted his head and looked at Tom, âIs it worth getting angry over such a small matter?â
âItâs not worth it. I donât even know the man,â Tom replied.
âThen why are you angry?â
âIâm angry about what he said.â
âDonât take his words to heart as he is an irrelevant person. If I have to be angry every time I hear those words, Iâm afraid it will be the death of me long ago.â
Charles could not accept it at first. He could only enlighten himself after a long time.
He did not take to heart the words that were not beneficial to him.
Tom knew better than to continue on this subject, and Charles was a little upset. Tom sensibly intervened with another sentence, âIâll call someone to keep an eye on Miss Ward.â
Charles knew Tomâs little thought, but he didnât tear it out as Tom had been following Charles for a long time.
âIâll take you home to rest,â Tom said.
Charles nodded, and felt really tired.
At the hotel.
After dinner, Matthew asked Boyce and Armand to leave the dining room. Dolores didnât know what they were talking about.
Dolores took the two boys downstairs to play. She had a psychological shadow and did not want to go upstairs.
She felt uncomfortable in her heart.
Theresa sat down next to her and said, âItâs almost the end of the year.â
Dolores smiled, âDo you want to come back?â.
Theresa interlocked her fingers and shook her head, âNo. I feel like time is flying. Weâve been in China for six months.â
Dolores had the same feeling as Theresa, for in those six months a lot had happened. She had seen through many people and things.
âCome on, Theresa. Letâs go see a movie,â Armand had the car key and turned it in his hand, and headed for Theresa.
Theresa skirted as soon as she saw Armand and whispered to Dolores, âIâll go up first.â
âHey, where are you going to hide?â Armand chased her up the stairs.
Dolores looked at them, they were clamoring and were like a quarrelsome lover. She shook her head and smiled helplessly.
âMama, what are you laughing at?â Simona threw herself into Doloresâ arms and threw her arm around his neck, pouting, âI just heard that Armand said he was going to go see a movie. I want to go too.â
Dolores pinched Simonaâs nose, âYou have very fine hearing, how come I didnât hear that?â.
The little girl let out a giggle, âMy ears are sharp, and my mouth is soft too.â
Dolores held Simona in her arms, and she knew Simona had a whim. Simona would be eager to scream if Simona stayed at the movies for an hour or two.
Simona could not stay in the cinema quietly. Dolores took her to the movies once before. Simona kept wiggling her fingers and eating popcorn when she watched the movies. She would ask from time to time, âWhen can we go?â. She didnât even know the content of the movie.
Dolores would never take her to the movies again.
âDaddy, Daddy,â Simona suddenly saw Matthew walk in and run out of Doloresâ arms.
Out of Doloresâ arms. She ran while screaming, âDaddy, Daddy.â
Matthew bent down and caught her to keep her from running into him, âDonât run so fast.â
âDaddy, Daddy, Mommy is mean. I want to go to the movies, but sheâs not willing to take me,â she began to complain once she was in Matthewâs arms.
Dolores, ââ¦â
Samuel, ââ¦â
âIs that so?â Matthew smiled warmly and glanced at Dolores. He leaned close to the ear of Simonaâs ear, âThen will you tell me how to punish her?â
The girl winked and cocked her head to the side in thought, âHow about a kiss?â
Dolores, ââ¦â
Matthew, ââ¦â
Samuel, ââ¦â
âMatthew!â Dolores took Simona from his arms, âWhat have you taught him?â
How could Simona say such words?
Matthew stared silently at the girl. He hadnât expected Simona to suddenly come up with such a phrase either.
He wanted to complain to Dolores and tell her that it was not he who had taught her.
She wanted to tell him not to suspect him.
He wouldnât teach Simona all that nonsense!
Matthewâs tone was serious, and he glared at Simona, âSimona, tell Daddy honestly, why do you think kissing is a punishment?â
âThatâs what they put on TV. The disobedient woman, and the man kisses her, then the woman becomes obedient.â
Dolores, ââ¦â
Matthew smiled and rubbed her hair. âLetâs not watch any more of those non-nurturing TV shows in the future, okay?â
âWhatâs non-nutritious?â Simona winked.
Matthew, ââ¦â
Samuel couldnât bear to watch this and cut in, âCome here. Iâm going to tell you.â
The girl brightened and approached Samuel with a jaunty step. She leaned over the desk as Samuel played the Super Brain game. He pressed the pause button and explained to his sister what the non-nurturing subject was.
âSimona, Iâm telling you whatâs not nutritious. The TV shows youâve been watching are not nutritious. TV shows are like water without nutrition, and they are not as healthy as eating eggs and pudding.â
Simona listened until her head was in the clouds.
Samuel had no intention of explaining anything to her, even if he did, she couldnât understand. He touched Simonaâs head, âI donât know whatâs in your head.â
Simona patted his hand, âDonât touch my hair.â
âI will touch it,â Samuel deliberately touched her hair again. The girl was not happy and chased after him to hit him.
They both ran in front of the round table and chased each other.
Dolores was afraid they would fall and told him, âRun slowly.â
âSimona wants to beat me,â Samuel took to answering Dolores.
Dolores sighed. The two children were at extremes.
Samuel was too precocious while, Simona was too simple.
âDid you just suspect me?â
Matthew leaned back on the sofa. He elegantly crossed his slender legs and placed his arms behind Dolores in a stretching position.
Dolores let out a silent cough. She did think it was Matthew who taught Simona to say it.
âIâm sorry I misunderstood you,â Dolores thought she had to admit it if it was her fault.
Matthew leaned over to Dolores and looked her in the eye, âIs that how youâre going to get rid of me?â
Simona had said she was sorry, what else?
âKiss me and Iâll forgive you,â Matthew leaned his face even closer to Simona. His breath paused on the tip of her nose. Sometimes it was hot and sometimes cold, and she got goose bumps from his breath. She couldnât help but rub her arms, âCan you be decent?â
Matthew, ââ¦â
Wasnât he decent?â
Wasnât it decent that he let her kiss him?
âWhy did you call Armand and Boyce out of the room just now?â Dolores tried to interrupt with another sentence.
âI have some instructions for them.â
Her deep dark eyes were filled with a strong halo of light. He recognized Doloresâ trick at a glance. Matthew lifted his chin with a deep smile, âDonât ramble.â
Dolores, ââ¦â
She thought she should take the initiative rather than let herself be annoyed by him. He lifted the corners of his lips slightly and smiled with curved eyes.
His eyes were as bright as a crescent moon. She lifted the corners of her lips slightly and showed her white teeth. She looked beautiful and cute.
She rarely smiled at him like that, and he was dazzled by her smile for a while.
She took him by surprise to kiss his face. Her action was quick and she left just as Matthew noticed. Matthew, ââ¦â
Was that kissing him? She didnât for a second have his lips on her face.
Besides, he didnât want her to kiss his face.
He wanted her to kiss his lips .
