Jayden Nelson’s behavior made Jeffery suspicious, so he sent people to follow Jayden’s lead.

In just three days, the people following Jayden discovered that he had a thing for Victoria Forbis.

Jolene had someone with her. Since Victoria had not seen the boy before. She cried in front of him and asked to see the child.

Jayden promised to bring him in today to see him, but Mrs. Harris came and kept hugging him, he didn’t get a chance to take him out. All he could do was make the excuse that he was busy with his work at the company. He went to Victoria’s room and told her to wait another day.

He pushed open the door to the room. Victoria had been waiting and immediately got up when she heard movement. Seeing Jayden enter, she excitedly asked, “Where’s my son?”

“I can’t bring him here today,” Jayden said. “Please wait a little while.”

Victoria’s eyes suddenly bugged out and she lowered her head sadly. All she wanted was to see her son. She wanted nothing more than that. How could it be so hard?

She was so upset that she could actually feel the pain in her chest.

Jayden couldn’t understand her feeling right now, but he could imagine how bad he felt as a parent since he had also recently become a parent.

“You just gave birth and you can’t be this upset. I promise I will surely bring the baby for you to see,” he whispered comfortingly to her as he sat down next to the bed. He reached out and draped his arm over her shoulders.

“I can’t stand the feeling of not having the baby with me.” Victoria didn’t want to cry, but she couldn’t stop herself. The child had been growing in her womb for ten months. She had strong ties to the child and didn’t want to give it to Jolene.

“It’s too late,” Jayden moaned softly.

It was all too late. Everyone already knew the child had been born to Jolene. “Actually, this is good. After a while, I will divorce Jolene and the child will remain in the Nelson Family. Then we’ll get married and you’ll be able to see him every day.”

Victoria nodded and agreed. Even though she and Jayden didn’t love each other, but it was still good to spend a lifetime with their children.

“I’ve heard that crying during postpartum recovery will hurt your eyes.” Jayden wiped away tears.

Bam!

The door to the living room opened abruptly with a loud bang and the two of them looked at it almost simultaneously.

Jeffery stood in the doorway angrily. He still couldn’t believe after hearing his subordinates’ story. After all, Jolene had just delivered a baby for Jayden, how could he fool her?

But, just now, his subordinates informed him that Jayden had come back to visit that woman, so he drove here to find out. He didn’t expect to see Jayden hugging that woman.

In other words, Jayden cheated by dating that woman during Jolene’s postpartum recovery.

He practically ran forward with a big stride and grabbed Jayden’s neck, “Jolene is in her month of recovery and you…”

His gaze shifted to Victoria, who was sitting up in bed and still had remnants of tears on her face. To Jeffery, this was how a mistress conquered men’s hearts.

“Jayden, won’t you feel guilty in front of Jolene?” Jeffery’s heart was pounding and his face was marred with rage.

Jayden stood still and said, “You’ve misunderstood us, it has nothing to do with her…”

“How can you keep defending your lover?” he was still capable of being rational. Like if he hit Jayden, he might get hurt and Jolene might notice. If not, she’d beat him up.

He was hesitant to tell his sister about this unexpected development because she was still in her month of recovery.

The two families shared common interests and now that there was a child, the connection between them was even deeper. Even if Jayden cheated on her, it was not good to divorce as this could leave bad effects on both families and the child.

“Leave this woman, go back and enjoy a wonderful life with Jolene. If you dare to have affairs with her again, I won’t let you go at all!” He said as he tried his best to suppress his rage.

Jeffery pushed Jayden aside.

“If you still want to survive. You’d better wise up and leave Jayden, do you understand? ” He moved to the headboard and looked at Victoria from a higher posture.

Jayden grabbed her shirt collar. “Keep it just between us. Don’t mess with her.” Jeffery’s fists were clenched. How could he keep defending this woman?

“Don’t take it for granted that I won’t get back at you for this. If you irritate me…”

“I understand.”

“I know you’re currently in the prime of your life. There are many methods if you want to do something, but you can’t hurt her,” Jayden raised his eyes.

“You!” Jeffery’s face was terrifying.

“Are you still interested in being with Jolene?” Jeffery thought Jayden was crazy about the woman. “Where has your sanity gone?”

Jeffery felt like he’d been struck by lightning. Was he going to give up his family for this woman?

“You’re not a guy who isn’t responsible and would reach out to another woman. Why do you find this woman so captivating?” shouted Jeffery.

He had the impression that Jayden had been charmed by this woman and now he was no longer rational or calm.

He could not be impetuous. If he made a big deal out of it, Jolene would be devastated when she found out.

“Calm down. We’ll discuss it in two days. But please don’t let Jolene know first, she’s weak now. For the sake of your newborn son, stay calm,” she said.

Jeffery left the room after saying that. In fact, he left not to calm down, but to send someone to investigate Victoria.

How could she be calm if her only sister’s husband cheated on her when she was in the month of confinement?

How dare she steal her sister’s husband?

Victoria held tightly to the bed sheet, as she could deduce his identity from Jeffery’s statements. She looked anxiously at Jayden, “What now?”

“This is a good opportunity to divorce Jolene,” Jayden calmly told Victoria.

Then he would marry her.

“In doing so, the two families will argue…”

“I don’t mind,” Jayden said as he twitched his lips, “but we had a child in between, we’re not likely to become enemies. At most, there would be a grudge against me.”

Victoria pursed her lips as she didn’t know what to say when things ended like this.

“I’m afraid it’s not safe here anymore. I’ll find you a new place to live. ” Jayden was also worried about Jeffery bothering her.

Jolene was a wonderful girl and her brother shouldn’t be so evil as to endanger people’s lives. “He’s powerful, but he wouldn’t actually kill me…”

“He and Jolene get along well, and now that he misidentifies you as my lover, he will no doubt turn on you for his sister.” Jayden was aware of the strong ties between Jeffery and Jolene.

They were the only two siblings in the Harris Family, it was only natural that they would have strong ties.

“Rest first, don’t catch a cold. He just left and must not come back. I’m going to get Jolene to discuss the divorce. Don’t worry about that, the boy is in good shape and you’ll see him soon,” he said as he walked over to cover her with the blanket.

“Be careful,” Victoria said as she nodded. “He looks like he knows how to do kung fu.”

“He was serving in the army and looked scary. But really, he won’t do anything to me, and, anyway, I’m not stupid enough not to defend myself if he hurts me. You just sleep. I’ll fix all the things,” Jayden patted her.

Victoria nodded.

Jayden closed the living room door and returned. Mrs. Harris left as well. There was only one maid to take care of Jolene while the baby slept in the crib. The baby at this stage, other than eating and excreting, was limited to spending the rest of the time sleeping.

Jolene saw his worried expression and asked, “What’s wrong with you? You looked upset, did something happen to Victoria?”.
