Jayden frowned and asked, “Did something happen?”

“My brother is here. Come back when my brother leaves.” Jolene hid in the bathroom to call him right then.

When she returned from shopping, Jeffery Harris was already home.

She was surprised to see him. Luckily, Victoria wasn’t home, otherwise this matter would have to be discovered.

“I’ll handle it.”

After hearing her reply, he hung up. Fortunately, it was a near miss. He took a deep breath, looked at his belly in the mirror and opened the door after confirming that nothing was wrong.

He grumbled, “Why didn’t you inform me you were coming here ahead of time?” Jeffery leaned back on the couch. He looked imposing even without saying anything, as he was fit and strong.

He looked at her, “How can you say that, do I still have to report in advance if I come to see my sister? Isn’t today the day of your pregnancy checkups? Why did you go to the mall?”

She looked at the small and large bags on the couch as she spoke.

She walked over, sat down on the sofa and asked her maid to bring her a glass of water, “I just went to the mall to buy clothes for my baby after doing the check-ups, as the baby is about to be born. By the way, what are you doing here today?”.

She asked the driver to take the things down from the trunk: “Mom asked me to bring it for you and my little nephew. Although he hasn’t been born yet, he has received everyone’s attention.”

Soon the driver came in with his two hands carrying a bunch of bags that were full of clothes and food for her son and some supplements for her. The driver finished carrying all those bags after two times.

She was surprised for a moment, “So many things.”

“Isn’t it all for your child?” He looked at her belly and wanted to touch it.

However, she slapped his hand away. She broke out in a sweat because she didn’t expect him to want to touch her belly.

Once he touched her, she would be exposed, since she was a fake, after all.

Luckily, she responded quickly.

He coughed to disguise his awkwardness since his sister had grown up and married. He couldn’t touch her what he wanted.

“Didn’t Jayden go to the hospital with you since you came back alone?”

Jeffrey felt bad that Jayden, who was her husband, didn’t worry about her at all times. Besides, there should be someone around her since the due date was approaching.

“He was busy working…”

“Is it more important the work or the child?”

Jeffrey interrupted her before she could finish her words, “Can’t you think which is more important?”

By the time she was about to explain, he had already pulled out his phone and was impatiently calling Jayden.

Soon the call connected. As he was about to ask, Jolene snatched the phone from him and hung up, “Mind your own business.”

He frowned and looked puzzled. He looked at her disappointed, since it was for her sake and he was afraid Jayden would bully her, but she….

“All right. I won’t worry about your business in the future.” She stood up.

She realized that what she had said was a bit hurtful. Jeffrey was her brother after all and he only cared about her.

She shouldn’t make him sad.

He picked up the driver’s hat and stopped his movement for a moment as he listened to what she said. Then he put his hat back on, “Call me if it bothers you.” When he finished speaking, he walked out with long strides.

Even if he was angry right now, he couldn’t leave her alone since, after all, she was his sister.

She ran out and caught up to him, hugging him from behind, “I may have prenatal depression and I was in a bad mood. Don’t be mad at me. I didn’t mean to right now and I know you care about me.”

She knew he loved and cared for her.

She threw herself into his arms and hugged him, “Brother.”

He pinched her cheeks and she cried out, “It hurts, it hurts…” His strength was powerful as he was a soldier.

“I didn’t use any force.”

“You’ll rip my face off if you do that.” She rubbed her face and her face was slightly red.

She felt bad and rubbed his face, “I’ll pinch you softer next time.” He sighed, “You are so childish that you are still behaving in a spoiled way since you will soon become a mother.”

“Even if I become a grandmother, I am still your sister.” She was speechless as she saw that it made sense.

He folded her body and got into the car, then looked at her again, “Come back, remember to put on more clothes as the weather is cold. Take care of yourself and call me anytime if anything happens.” She nodded.

She turned around and saw Stanley, who was dressed casually and looked very handsome, standing on the opposite side of the road.

The wind was blowing hard and making his hair a mess.

She was distracted for a moment. Then she looked around and hurried over, “Why are you here?”

“I miss you.” His mouth curved upward and he looked extremely handsome when he smiled.

She glared at him, “Let me know in advance if you come next time.”

He took her in his arms, “We are a couple and we love each other, why is it so hard to get to know each other?”.

She patted his back, “Wait a little longer…”

She wanted to wait until Victoria gave birth to their child and wait until Jayden knew his own mind.

Then he could leave, travel the world with Stanley, leave everything here and live a life that belonged to them.

“How long?” Stanley asked.

“A year at the most.”

He didn’t know if Jayden was telling the truth that he would let her go after Victoria gave birth, but a year was long enough for her to know her own mind.

In that time, she could leave successfully without guilt.

“Come back now.” She released Stanley.

“I want to take a look at you.” He grabbed her hands and refused to let go.

His expression looked serious, “We’re in front of the Nelson Family villa. It’s not good for me and Jayden if we’re seen by the others.”

Stanley knew that, he lowered his head and kissed her on the lips, “I’ll wait for you no matter how long it takes.”

After he finished saying that, he turned and left.

She stood in front of the door, looked at him and waved her hand at him, “Drive slowly.”

He rolled down the car window, “Get in. It’s cold outside.” She held her coat tightly and went into the house.

The weather was getting cooler and the wind colder, for it was December.

On the twentieth of December, whose new year was just around the corner, the lights in the villa were suddenly turned on at night.

Victoria felt sore. She was taken to the hospital during the night without informing anyone to prevent others from discovering the truth.

Jolene planned to hold the baby in her arms and announce that she had given birth after it was born.

This way, they could hide it from everyone.

Jayden drove his car while Jolene held Victoria, who was sweating profusely due to back pain. Jolene comforted her, “Hang in there, we’ll be at the hospital soon.”

She had never given birth before, so she didn’t know that Victoria would have to go through that pain again when she gave birth.

Victoria was a strong person, but she couldn’t stand the pain that seemed to tear at her bones and flesh, “It hurts! It hurts so much now.”

Her slender fingers clutched at the seat and her lips twitched, “Am I going to die?”

“No, no.” Jolene didn’t know her pain and couldn’t experience it. One who had not experienced it could not empathize.

Soon they arrived at the hospital entrance. Jolene got out of the car and opened the door.
