In his embrace, Samuel could clearly feel Matthew’s chest shaking as well.

He reached out to hug Matthew. As much as he liked Mommy, Samuel could sense that he felt really uneasy and guilty right now.

“We’ll go get her.” Matthew made Samuel look him in the eye, “You’re coming with us?”

“Yes,” Samuel answered without hesitation.

“But what about Simona? If Mom and I weren’t here, she’d make a fuss,” Samuel said worriedly.

“Dad!”

Simona saw Matthew and trotted out of the house, hurrying over. She stretched out her chubby arms and hugged her legs, “Daddy.” She lifted her head and her pink lips pouted, “Daddy, can you let go of Samuel and hug me?”

As he spoke, he opened his eyes and blinked, “Samuel is a man now. He doesn’t need a hug. Hug me.”

Samuel was speechless.

Matthew squatted down, holding the little girl in his arms. The girl was wearing a pink dress with a ponytail behind her head. Her hair was short on her forehead, but her forehead was wide, her large, watery eyes uncovered. The little girl wrapped her arms around Matthew’s neck tightly and rubbed his face with her own, “Daddy, you’ve come home. Why isn’t Mommy with you? I haven’t seen her for several days. We’ve never been apart. I miss her so much.”

Matthew looked away, clasping his two small hands to his chest. He struggled to say calmly, “I’ll take you to look for her.”

“Yes.”

“Wow, I’m so happy!” Simona wriggled her excited little body in his arms. However, Samuel was not as delighted as she was, “It’s so good to be a boy.”

Simon heard him and turned to stare at him, “You were born only a few minutes before me. You’re not that much older than me. Even Grandma said you were the leftover.”

Samuel frowned and his whole face scrunched up, “Grandma said you were the leftover.”

Jessica came out of the house. She wore an apron and put her hands out in front, “Guys, come on in. It’s time for dinner.”

“Grandma, Samuel is the leftover child, isn’t he?” Simona asked quickly to prove that what she was saying was real.

In her opinion, whoever asked first would be right.

It was easy enough to read the child’s mind. She was simpler than her brother and didn’t think much. Jessica teased her with a smile, “You’re the leftover.”

Simona was not happy, pouting, “Why isn’t Samuel the leftover? He’s so…obnoxious.” Samuel snatched Dad’s hug away from her.

So, Simona decided that Samuel was obnoxious.

Jessie glanced at Matthew and said, “It was because, at first, there was only one baby in your mommy’s belly. Later, another one was found – isn’t the one found later the one left over?”.

Simona was not convinced: “That must be Samuel. That’s the one left over.”

“But Samuel was born first…”

“I don’t care. Samuel is the leftover.” Simona acted cheeky. She played nice as she wrapped her arms around Matthew’s neck tightly, “Dad, Samuel’s the leftover?”

Matthew pulled her up and rubbed her hair, “Neither of us are leftovers.”

“Come on. Let’s go to dinner.” Jessica tugged on Samuel’s hand.

“I want to take you both on a hike. Dolores misses them.” Taking advantage of the lively mood, Matthew told Jessica they were going out.

Jessica agreed, “Okay.”

She sensed something was wrong, but thought she had thought too much.

Seeing that, both children, especially Simona, liked Matthew so much, Jessica wished he could start a family with Dolores. Therefore, it was no bad thing for them to spend more time together and develop family affection.

“When will you be back?” asked Jessica.

Matthew had no idea when he might find her. He said, “I haven’t decided yet. I want to take them out to have fun. I don’t want to be interrupted, so we won’t be contacting anyone nationally.”

Jessica nodded, “I see. When are you leaving?”

“Tonight.”

“That’s too soon.”

“Yes.” Matthew didn’t explain, as he didn’t want to waste time.

“You go to dinner. I’ll pack the clothes for the kids.” Jessica took off her apron and headed for the children’s rooms.

Matthew took the children to wash their hands. Simona was clinging tightly to him. She wanted to stay in his arms, not wanting to get down. Matthew held her to wash and returned to the dining room, letting her sit on his lap.

Coral served the dishes and asked, “Hasn’t the mistress returned yet?” Her manner of addressing Dolores had changed again.

In her opinion, since Dolores gave birth to two children, she should now be Mistress of the Nelson Family.

Matthew gathered food for Simona. Without raising his head, he let out an “hmm.”

He didn’t want to talk about Dolores at all. The more he talked about her, the easier it would be for others to find something wrong.

Coral always took care of him, so she knew him very well. She had realized that he was not willing to talk about this matter in that tone. Hence, she didn’t keep asking sensibly.

“Dad, eat this.” Simona picked up a piece of broccoli with her spoon and brought it to Matthew’s lips.

The little girl blinked, her eyes full of anticipation.

Matthew opened his mouth and ate the broccoli. Although he no longer had an appetite, he chewed it lightly.

“Do you like it?” Simona smiled contentedly, “Mom’s broccoli is tastier!”.

Matthew had a solemn look on his face. The two children kept mentioning Dolores, so you could tell they loved Dolores deeply.

Samuel shot a glance at his sister. Pursing his lips, he lowered his eyes, stuffed a few mouthfuls of food into his mouth and put down his chopsticks. He had no appetite since he hadn’t met Mom.

“I’m full. I’m going to see if Grandma has finished packing.” After that, he got off the chair and headed for his room.

“Samuel, why did you just eat that small amount of food?” Simona looked at her brother. Although they always argued or fought with each other, they cared more about each other.

“I’m full, Simona.” Samuel smiled at her.

“Samuel, you’re not the leftover,” Simona suddenly told him seriously.

Samuel smiled.

After dinner, Boyce arrived with his men and their cars. Knowing that Matthew would be taking the two boys, he had prepared a caravan for them so that the boys could have a good rest on the wall. In addition, there were three all-terrain vehicles and seven men skilled in fighting who could be trusted.

When Boyce saw Samuel, he said, “Matthew, he looks a lot like you. Look at his eyes and his nose.”

“What about me, do I look like Dad?” asked Simona as she raised her head.

Boyce squatted down, watching the girl intently. She was quite pretty. Her eyes were bright. When she blinked, her eyes looked like bright stars. He reached out and pinched her cheek. Before his finger reached the girl’s face, her wrist was grabbed. She looked up and saw Matthew’s cold face.

Boyce was confused, “I just want to pinch her cheek. I know she’s your daughter, how can you be so mean?”.

Wasn’t it normal to touch their hair, pinch their cheek, kiss and hug them when they teased the children?

Besides, he didn’t want to kiss or hug her.

Matthew shook her hand, “Don’t touch her with your hand.”

Simona was a child. She was disgusted by anyone touching her face, especially a man.

She held her daughter in her arms and tugged on her son’s hand, “Come on if everything is ready.”

After finishing her words, she walked away.

Boyce stood still, confused. He looked down at his hands. His hands were not dirty. He couldn’t understand why Matthew was so mean.

He hurried to catch up to Matthew, “Wait, Matthew. I need to talk to you.” He wasn’t a nasty man, but why was Matthew so alert with him?

“I understand that you love your children. After all, you eventually have kids being older, but you can’t be so mean…”

Matthew looked back, “Excuse me, did you say I have children being old?”

He didn’t say old.

Boyce clicked his tongue, “Oh, you’re not old.”

Inwardly, he grumbled at Matthew: he was in his thirties, almost forty. Of course, he was older in Boyce’s opinion.

He approached and said, “In the future, I will have a child. Let’s have the child marriage, shall we?”.

Boyce thought to himself, “Matthew, you forbid me to touch your daughter. I will get a son and have him marry her in the future. Your daughter will be my daughter-in-law.”

Thinking that, Boyce let out a chuckle.

Matthew’s face suddenly darkened.

Boyce reacted very quickly. Before Matthew could blow on him, he rushed into the car.

Simona blinked, “Dad, what’s child marriage?” Matthew was speechless.

He stroked her hair and led her to the car, “You’re talking nonsense.”
