Matthew glanced inside and realized that Dolores was probably here too.

However, Armand’s heart burned with a desire to gossip. Had Matthew lent his car to someone?

“A guy or a woman?” Armand walked over and winked at Matthew, “Aren’t you trying to get your ex-wife back? What’s with the sudden change of preferences?”

“Fuck you!” Matthew gave him a sidelong glance.

Boyce smiled, “Why are you like this, why do you keep behaving so childishly?”

“You’re behaving childishly!” Armand jumped on Boyce’s back and threw his arms around his neck, “Hey, have you seen your ex-wife?”

Boyce nodded sincerely, “Yes.”

Matthew got married six years ago. Actually, it was a secret marriage and not one that Matthew wanted. He didn’t introduce himself to her. At the time, he was very busy during the promotion period. Soon, Matthew was divorced and didn’t get a chance to meet her.

If Abbott had not contacted him for help that day, he would never have seen her.

Abbott had told her that Matthew now seemed to care about his ex-wife, but he also understood why he had begun to care about her.

It had to be because of the children.

The other day, he had seen Samuel, who looked to be about five or six years old; the chronology fit.

gⱯlnσν𝓮𝓁s﹒𝓬𝗈𝗺, the heart of fiction As we entered the Join & Share Farm, there were pavilions and kiosks everywhere. Red lanterns illuminated the winding hallway leading to the lobby.

As soon as he entered, a waiter approached.

“Mr. Bernie?”

“Yes.” Armand had naturally used his name when booking the place.

“Please follow me!” The waiter stepped forward and led them to a private room.

The room was very spacious, with sandalwood table and chairs carved with intricate patterns that made the ambiance classic and antique.

The private parlors here were different from those in other places. They were not really rooms, but long hallways separated into small rooms by screens. Each screen had a different design for each room.

The waiter handed him the menu and Armand quickly took it, “I’ll order the dishes since I know how to eat.”

Boyce clicked his tongue and smiled.

Armand narrowed his eyes at him, “What the hell are you smiling about?”.

“How do you call yourself a highly educated and sophisticated lawyer, but you can’t even speak in a civilized manner?”

“I have to behave at work all day. This is my personal time; can’t I loosen up a little; are any of you as tired as I am?”

“Oh, fuck off!” Boyce didn’t bother to answer him. He opened a law firm and all the cases went to lawyers who worked at his firm. He hadn’t even been to court in a long time.

What did he know about being tired?

Armand cleared his throat, “You should speak more civilly, can’t you see there’s a person here.”

He winked deliberately at Boyce, indicating the waitress.

“Nonsense!” Boyce didn’t worry too much about him.

Matthew seemed too quiet. He sat between them, but they didn’t seem to exist to him. He carried the phone in his hands, rubbing his fingers back and forth across the screen. He wanted to call Dolores and ask if she was here, but seeing the other two besides him, he gave up the idea.

After ordering the dishes, Armand handed the menu back to the waiter and said, “Please be quick.”

“Sure.”

Soon, in about half an hour, the food was served.

Armand opened a bottle of wine and filled their glasses one by one, “This is too boring with just the three of us.”

“Who else are you looking for, Phoebe?”

“Don’t try to mess with me.” Armand glared at him.

Boyce smiled, “Are you still stuck on her?”

Phoebe Lewis was Armand’s first love. He dated her in college. He loved her dearly, but then they had broken up.

He had never revealed why he had broken up with her.

All Boyce knew was that Phoebe had become taboo to him. Not only would he not let anyone tell, but he had never fallen in love again. He had many women around him, but he never felt true love again and only played with them.

“Tell me one thing, does a person’s feeling come from love or from sex?” Armand took a sip of wine and frowned at the taste, “Nice.”

“Shouldn’t we ask you? You’re the one with the most experience.” Boyce also took a sip of his wine.

Armand pointed to Matthew with his chin and said, “We should ask him. Back then, didn’t he and Helen get together in the first place because they slept together?”

He started dating her because he felt responsible for spending a night with her, but after she cheated on him, he didn’t love her anymore.

Was this being in love, or was it not?

Matthew looked at him, “Don’t you have anything better to do?”

“We’re alone here. I’m telling the truth. You took her virginity and then threw it away. You’re a pretty bad guy.” Armand had had two glasses of wine and his voice was now considerably loud.

A few women were sitting in the room besides his, and they were all taken aback by his loud voice.

Allison reacted strongly, “Of course they did, not all men are good.”

Theresa had chosen this place because it had good ratings on the Internet. The food and atmosphere were good, but she hadn’t expected the rooms to be separated by thin screens and not soundproofed at all.

Dolores felt the voice sound a little familiar, so she gently moved closer to the screen to peer into the other room through the small gap.

She saw Armand’s arm resting on Matthew’s shoulder.

“Did you love Helen, or did you just take responsibility after you slept with her?”

Dolores held her breath inexplicably, but she also wanted to know the answer.

She gripped her chair nervously.

Matthew took a sip of wine, “A little.”

He had never felt his heart stir for Helen, and in fact it was his sense of responsibility to spend the night with her that made him stay with her. Although his memory was fuzzy, he still remembered the feeling of that night.

If he didn’t like her, he wouldn’t have remembered it.

So it was like… a little bit.

Armand said, “I mean, if you start with sex, you can evoke more feelings.”

After all, when Matthew hadn’t slept with Helen, he had no feelings for her. After sleeping with her once, he started to like her a little. So, sex could amplify feelings of love?

“Your logic is impressive, Mr. Lawyer.” Boyce gave Armand a thumbs-up.

Armand looked at him with narrowed eyes, “You think everyone is like you? A thirty-year-old virgin?” Boyce was struck dumb with rage.

He wanted to curse Armand.

In the other room, Dolores didn’t know what had suddenly happened to her, but she had lost her appetite.

She had lost her appetite completely.

“Is the food here not to your taste?” asked Theresa.

Dolores popped a mouthful of food into her mouth and said, “No, it’s delicious.”

“It’s the first time I’ve eaten such authentic Chinese food.” Mrs. William was very pleased with the food, “And the atmosphere here is also very good, very Chinese. I like it.”

“As long as you are satisfied. This trip will not disappoint you.” Theresa poured Mrs. William a glass of wine.

“Oh, I should stop drinking. I’m full and it’s time to go back.” Although Mrs. William maintained good posture, she was very old and had little energy.

“Yes, I think so too.” Allison was also feeling tired. She had gone to the tent just after landing here; now she felt tired and needed to sleep.

“I’ll leave you.” Dolores stood up and spoke.

“No need.” Allison greeted her, “You’ve been busy in the store all day, go back and take care of the kids.”

“Then take my car.” Theresa handed Allison her car keys.

Allison took the keys and helped Mrs. William out of the room.

Dolores rubbed her face, “I’ll go pay the bill.”

Theresa followed her, “Dolores, you seem to be in a bad mood.”

Dolores denied, “No.”

“Yes. You were very happy all day, but while you were eating your expressions changed.”

“I’m still happy.” Dolores laughed. The store was about to open, she was extremely happy.

Theresa smiled.

Dolores’ face suddenly went dark, “Do I really look unhappy?” Theresa nodded seriously.

Dolores thought long and hard about why she had suddenly become unhappy.

Was she unhappy because Helen and Matthew were sleeping together, or because Matthew liked Helen?

She didn’t know; she just knew she was upset.

Dolores took a deep breath, perked up, and headed to the front desk to pay.

“The total bill is 5800.”

Dolores pulled out her card to hand it over, but suddenly she was enveloped by the shadow of a tall figure. Someone handed her card over first and said, “Swipe this one.”
