When Mary woke up, she was naked and the big bed was in disarray.

There was no one in her sight.

She sat up, wrapping her smooth body in the comforter and tried to remember what had happened last night. She used the video of Dolores being undressed to bring Matthew back.

She had originally wanted to use the video in exchange for him forgiving the Herbert Family. But when he came over, before she had a chance to talk to him, they both drank wine.

And then she got drunk.

She remembered that she took off her own clothes.

At that time, only Matthew was with her in the room.

Did Matthew do something with her yesterday?

She was not an innocent child; she could clearly feel what had happened to her body.

She blushed and her cheeks turned red.

Had Matthew really changed his mind?

She was so excited that she almost jumped up.

She was sure that last night Matthew had had sex with her.

She knew Matthew a little, after he found out she was the woman that night, he was very nice to her.

If he hadn’t found out later about her fake pregnancy car accident, he wouldn’t have started hating her either.

Now he was sleeping with her, which meant he was willing to be with her again.

He cheerfully got out of bed and put his clothes back on.

He had to hurry up and tell Landon. If Matthew was willing to be with her again, was he going to spread the news?

After getting dressed, she hurried out of the hotel.

The car stopped at the Herbert Family home. When she got out, she saw Abbott’s car parked not far away.

Was Abbott here?

She knew Abbott was Matthew’s assistant.

He was also someone Matthew trusted very much.

Was he there to tell his family that he wanted to reconcile with Matthew?

The more she thought about it, the more excited she got and the faster she walked.

As she opened the door, she saw her family. Landon was sitting in front with a pale face and Sampson and Warner’s expressions were not good. Camilla was sitting a little to one side and sobbing softly, not daring to cry aloud.

Trembling with anger, he pointed at her, “You still have the guts to ask why?”

“You must have a reason for hitting me, otherwise I’ll never forgive you!” Maria turned her gaze to Camilla with tears in her eyes.

She turned to look at Sampson, who was red-eyed and did not come over to help her.

When she had returned to the Herbert house, Camilla and Sampson had treated her well.

Now that neither would step forward to speak for her, she sensed the gravity of the situation.

Landon’s voice was lower than usual and deep as muffled thunder as he laughed bitterly, “I regret that I didn’t choke you to death the day you were born. And you tell me you won’t forgive me?”

His eyes were red-rimmed, “Do I need you to forgive me?”.

Maria shrank back. It was the first time she had seen such a vicious side of Landon.

She lunged toward Abbott and grabbed his arm, “Tell my father what you’re here for.”

Abbott remained nonchalant and said flippantly, “I’ve already told him.”

“If he knows that Matthew and I are back together, why is he still angry?”

“When did you get back together with Mr. Nelson?” said Abbott coolly.

Maybe the Herbert Family didn’t know why Mary was acting this way, but he did.

Because she mentioned Matthew’s name a lot last night.

She thought the two men were Matthew.

“Last night, I was with Matthew. He… He…”

“I think you misunderstood.” Abbott interrupted her and dropped a bombshell with his next words, “Mr. Nelson was not with you last night.”

“What nonsense are you talking, stop it!” Mary said sternly, got up from the floor and pointed at Abbott, “What do you know?”

She remembered being in Matthew’s arms last night and him not pushing her away. Forgetting everything, even the pain of the slap, she smiled, “He loves me. We were together last night.”

“Stop it!” Sampson couldn’t listen anymore. She couldn’t bear to watch her deceive everyone and herself.

He reached over, grabbed her by the shoulders and growled, “Wake up, Maria! You’ve been had.”

She looked at Sampson, who looked like he was about to faint, and asked, “Who tricked me? What are you talking about?”

“How could I have given birth to such a stupid daughter as you?” Landon had never regretted it. But now he regretted that he had recognized and accepted her in the first place.

If he had known she was going to bring such disaster to the Herbert Family, he would have let her die outside instead of allowing her through the doors of the Herbert Family home.

Abbott arrived there in person and confirmed Matthew’s intention.

Landon knew that these two incidents combined would truly be a disaster for the Herbert Family.

If he didn’t resolve this right, his family was really going to be finished.

He stood up, all arrogance gone, “Tell Matthew, I’ll give him a satisfactory explanation on this matter.”

Abbott nodded, “All right, I’ll tell him.”

Landon rose to escort him out. Abbott waved his hand, “No need to see me out, thank you.”

Abbott immediately left the Herbert Family home.

Maria seemed to begin to understand the situation, “Didn’t Matthew go with me last night?”

He sat back in the chair with dull eyes, “Sampson, Maria, the trouble you have caused may cause the Herbert Family to lose its century-old reputation. Don’t blame me, blame yourselves for being so disappointing.”

“Dad, what do you mean, you want to abandon us?” Maria couldn’t believe it.

“It’s not that Dad wants to abandon you, it’s that the two of you have brought your destruction upon yourselves.” Warner interjected, “The two of you have done nothing for the family, but you have enjoyed the glory that the Herbert Family has provided for itself.
