Warner’s expression became even colder because he didn’t like Maria’s condition, “Don’t forget that you’re the one to blame for all this. So originally you should bear the responsibility of solving all this. Now you’re using him as a bargaining chip to negotiate with me? If Dad finds out, he’ll be very angry.”

Maria curved her lips into a smile, “Warner, I guess you’re afraid I’ll steal your thunder, aren’t you?”

“What a joke.” Warner felt annoyed as he spoke to her, “Is it that easy to have Matthew’s soft spot? If you have something he cares about, you could just threaten him into marrying you, why did you plan all those things, could it be that you’re crazy?”

Warner had calmed down and didn’t think Maria had gotten Matthew’s weak spot.

If she had something she cared about, she could directly threaten Matthew into marrying her. Why would they call off the engagement and cause all this trouble?

“You’re the crazy one.” Maria huffed, “I originally wanted to help you. But since you don’t care, then don’t blame me for stepping aside.” She turned around and went upstairs after finishing the words.

Warner scoffed, “Stay home obediently and don’t make Dad angry.”

Camilla happened to come out of the bedroom. Hearing Warner shouting loudly, she quietly reprimanded him, “Your father has been in a bad mood these past two days, so don’t talk loudly at home in case it angers him.”

She had made great efforts to comfort him and let him stay in the bedroom to rest.

“I see.” Warner went into his bedroom to change his clothes. He pulled his clothes out of the closet, but was in no hurry to change; instead, he sat down on the couch, pulled out his phone to find out Abbott’s number and made a call to him.

galnovels . com is your storytelling hub She cleared her throat and pondered what to say when she got the call. Apparently, he was contacting Abbott at that time because of the news, so Abbott might not be willing to take the call, or he might refuse to meet with him.

Abbott did not take the call until the dial tone ended. Grabbing the phone, Warner was not discouraged. Instead, he hung up the phone, unbuttoned his suit jacket and headed for the bathroom. After bathing, he changed his clothes and came out.

Mary, who was standing by a second-floor window, pushed the curtain aside with one hand and watched as Warner left the mansion through the back door.

It didn’t matter whether Matthew loved her or not, no one could deny that since she had been by his side for so long, she knew him quite well and she was sure that Matthew would definitely refuse to meet Warner.

Mary curved her lips, “Brother, I gave you a chance, but you didn’t take it. Then don’t blame me.”

She pulled out her phone and sent a video to Matthew’s phone, as well as to his private email, in case he didn’t notice.

Back at the villa…

Coral cooked a table of dishes as if they were celebrating a festival.

Jessica helped her serve the rice and Simona played alone in the living room. Samuel was still in his room, refusing to come out. He said he looked ugly now and refused to see anyone.

Two streaks of white light entered the villa: a black car was coming from outside. Soon, Dolores and Matthew got out of the car and entered the villa together.

When Simona heard the sound of the door opening, she quickly lifted her head from the sofa and looked towards the door. When she saw the man entering, her eyes lit up.

Samuel had told her that the man was her father.

She quickly got off the couch and ran to the door on her short legs. Dolores thought he was coming to welcome her, so she squatted down and prepared to hug her, “Simona.”

However, Simona didn’t jump into his embrace; instead, she stopped in front of Matthew, raised her head, blinked and fixed her eyes on the tall man. He was so tall and so handsome.

“Daddy.”

Both Dolores and Matthew were speechless.

“Daddy.” Simona reached out to hug Matthew’s leg, “Daddy, carry me.”

Dolores spoke tenderly to him, “Simona, be obedient, come to Mommy.”

Simona shook her head, “I want Daddy to carry me.”

Dolores felt uncomfortable and distressed at the same time. Although Simona had lacked parental love, she never called others daddy.

“Simona, come to mommy. He? is not your daddy.”

“No, I want daddy.” Simona refused to accept what Dolores had said and hugged Matthew’s leg even tighter. She glued her face to his leg, lifted her head and blinked her big, bright eyes, “Papa, can you carry me?”

Matthew had frozen the moment Simona glued herself to his leg. He looked down to meet her watery, clear eyes, full of expectation.

He leaned down to lift her up. Simona’s skin was very fair. Perhaps because she was light, Matthew didn’t use too much force.

Simona gaped at the sight of him at such close range. ‘Daddy is so handsome!’ she exclaimed inwardly.

She wrapped her arm around his neck tightly, as if she feared he would put her down, and snuggled her head on his shoulder.

Dolores wanted to take her in her arms, “Simona.”

“Mama, I want Daddy to carry me in his arms.” Simona stopped her with a sobbing tone. Deep down she longed for a father and longed for her father’s embrace.

She longed for a father.

“Let me carry her.” Matthew didn’t sense her repulsive. After all, no one would turn away such a cute little girl.

Dolores felt helpless and explained, “I’ve never acted like this before.”

Matthew looked at her indifferently and curved his lips into a sneer, “She hasn’t had a father since she was born, so naturally she lacks parental love.”

Dolores was pinned to the spot. Although she seemed calm on the surface, she felt her heart being squeezed so hard by an ironic hand that she couldn’t even breathe and could only feel the pain.

She walked into the house to set things down with her head down.

Matthew carried Simona into the living room and let her sit on his thighs. He then studied her appearance carefully. Simona resembled Samuel but was more endearing than he was.

Her face was as white as flawless porcelain. She was so soft that he had the urge to pinch her.

With such a thought in mind, Matthew sprang into action. As he pinched her cheek, he felt it springy and tender, “Is your name Simona?”

Simona nodded and curved her pink lips into a smile, showing her white teeth. “Mama said Simona means tenderness and the morning sun, my name is a symbol of hope.”

Dolores hoped her daughter could be tender and dazzling like the sun.

She hoped there would be no darkness, but only brightness in her daughter’s life.

Simona blinked and looked up at Matthew, “Is that a good name?”

“Good.”

It wasn’t a perfunctory answer. Matthew really thought Dolores had given him a good name.

Simona was all smiles and pounced into his embrace. She pressed her face to his chest to listen to his heartbeat, “Daddy.”

Matthew tensed again. He was thirty years older, but this was the first time he’d heard someone address him as ‘Dad’.

He felt inexplicably excited.

It was like throwing a stone into a stagnant pond and having the stone cause ripples of ripples in the pond, just the way he felt at that moment.

He couldn’t calm down.

Simona nuzzled into his neck and stroked his skin.

Matthew, “…”.

He wanted to pull his hand away, but Simona refused to let go of his neck, “I want to drink milk.”

Matthew was speechless again.

He didn’t have breasts!

“Mommy has milk.” Simona blinked curiously, why didn’t Daddy have any?

Simona continued to stroke her chest at random. His chest was so flat and hard.

“Mommy’s breast is so soft. Why doesn’t she have milk?” Simona felt aggrieved.

Matthew’s expressions became more strained.

He gasped for breath with his head raised.

Weren’t Simona and Samuel a pair of twins?

Why were their characteristics so different?

Apparently Samuel was an independent person while Simona was a clingy little girl.

Just at this moment, the phone in his pocket rang. But Matthew didn’t feel like checking it.

Simona was curious and reached out to his pocket as she reminded him, “Dad, your phone is ringing.”

“I see.”

“I’ll get the phone for you.” Simona sucked up to him.

She wanted Matthew to like her; therefore, she had to act nice.

Simona pulled the phone out of Matthew’s pocket and saw a video message on the screen. She blinked and accidentally opened the video.

It didn’t take long for the video to appear.

“Mom, boobs.” Simona recognized the people in the video.

Matthew furrowed his eyebrows and lowered his head to look at the video….
