She knew the language of country A.
Although she wasnât sure if Dolores was the woman from the night before, Helen was sure now.
âMiss White?â Helenâs assistant didnât understand why Helen suddenly stopped in front of the HR waiting room and continued. âThe meeting is going to start soon.â
Helen handed the document in her hand to her assistant. âTake the document to Mr. Nelson first, Iâll review it later.â
âThen you can start work tomorrow.â Since there were only a few people who knew the language of country A, even though Dolores had no work experience, it would be enough if she knew the language.
Dolores stood up and bowed slightly. âThank you.â
She cheerfully walked out of the interview room. After she left, Helen walked in.
âThe woman now doesnât meet the requirements for the position, we shouldnât hire her.â

âSo it really doesnât matter what I say, does it?â Helen spoke sternly.
Helen was Matthewâs secretary and his girlfriend, she had become the new Miss Nelson Family. Who dared to offend her?
Although the interviewer thought it was not a good idea, he still responded.
âOkay.â

Dolores, coming out of the tower, was elated. For the first time in a long time, she felt hope for her future. Her life was finally getting better.
She took a cab from Grupo WY to the Flores Family home.
The ride was not long and soon the cab pulled up in front of the Flores Family. Dolores paid the driver and got out of the car. She entered with light, firm steps.
In the living room, Beulah, who was wearing a silk nightgown that showed off her seductive figure, was sitting on the couch.
When Beulah saw Dolores, she raised her delicate eyebrows, âWell, if it isnât Dolores.â
Dolores looked at Beulahâs wrist and saw that she was wearing a jade bracelet and frowned. Dolores had seen it in her motherâs jewelry box when she was a child. Her mother said her grandmother had given her the bracelet.
But it had been given to Beulah.
Dolores held back. âIâve come to see Randolph Flores.â
Beulah fiddled with her exquisitely manicured nails without looking at Dolores. âSurely your life after marrying a cripple isnât quiet, is it?â
âNone of your business.â Dolores murmured and asked again, âIs Randolph here?â
Beulah raised her eyes and looked at Dolores to appraise her. âYou look like a deflated eggplant; I guess the crippled Nelson Family doesnât like you either, do they?â
Dolores couldnât help but grimace. At that moment, she sincerely thanked Matthew for pretending to be paralyzed so she would have a chance to come back.
If Beulah knew Matthew wasnât crippled, would she regret not letting her daughter marry him?
As a man, Matthew was certainly handsome, capable, and wealthy. He was a man many women longed for.
Since Randolph didnât seem to be home, Dolores didnât want to waste her time with Beulah.
She turned to leave, but as she reached the door, a car turned into the driveway and stopped at the door. Dolores knew the car well. It was Randolphâs.
The driver opened the car door and Randolph got out.
Seeing Dolores standing in the doorway, Randolph realized that he might ask for Jessicaâs dowry. His face darkened. Without waiting for her to speak, he interrupted her, âIf you want to get your motherâs wedding gifts, you have to do one thing for me.â
Dolores frowned. âYou said that as long as I married Matthew Nelson, youâd give me back everything that belongs to us!â
Randolph snorted coldly. âWhy did I want you to marry into the Nelson Family? Because it will help the Flores Family in their social standing and especially in business!â
Dolores was so angry that her blood boiled and her body trembled. âHow can you not keep your words, youâre even a man?â.
âYouâre too trusting and stupid!â Randolph showed an expression of displeasure. âIâm your father, do you really want to talk to me like that?â
Dolores was enormously disheartened and crestfallen. He had broken his word.
âIf you want your motherâs wedding gifts, tell Matthew to give me the development rights to Repulse Bay, and then Iâll give them to you.â
Without another word, Randolph walked past Dolores and into the yard.
When he was a few steps away from Dolores, he stopped again. âThat land is very important to me. If you can convince Matthew to sign over the development rights to me, I will return everything your mother brought during our marriage, including the piano your mother gave you for your birthday.â
Dolores never thought Randolph could be so brazen. He went back on his words again and again. Dolores no longer trusted him.
If she wanted those things back, she could only think of another way.
Dolores narrowed her eyes. The land Randolph wanted was in Matthewâs handsâ¦.
If she wanted to use Randolphâs weakness, it seemed she still had to make an effort with her ânewlywedâ.
But how could he do that? Although the two were legally husband and wife, their relationship was more like strangers or even worse than that.
Dolores still hadnât managed to come up with a solution after returning to her residence. Instead, she received a call and was informed that she was not qualified.
âDidnât they say when I left that I could start work tomorrow?â asked Dolores anxiously.
âIâm sorry, we canât hire her. You donât meet our requirements.â
Without another word, the person hung up the phone immediately.
Dolores stared at the phone. She lost her sanity for quite a while.
