I don't know what's worse, the fact that Mia just called my cousin hot or that she said he sleeps around. When I moved here it was for a fresh start, not to get an insight into Josh's sex life.
I scrunch my face up in disgust and put my head in my hands. Just wait until she finds out who Josh is to me.
I only met Cole today and I already don't like him so it makes me happy to know that Josh can't stand the sight of him either.
Shall I tell her now or let her find out herself?
What would I even say? Oh yeah, that other twat is my cousin. We can now use our Mitchell powers to kick Cole's ass yayyy!
"Mia, look, Josh, he is my-" I'm laughing slightly but before I can even finish what I'm going to say I get interrupted by someone. That someone being Josh might I add.
"Andie, why is everyone saying something went on between you and Cole? Please stay away from him, I swear to god if you get involved with him..." He groans and tugs at his hair with frustration while Mia sits still, frozen. I think her jaw just became best friends with the floor.
I burst out laughing by his stupid comment. "Oh m-my god!" I carry on laughing but finally pull myself together to be able to form at least one sentence.
"Trust me, you have nothing to worry about. I've been here for two seconds and I already can't stand him." He sighs with relief and his eyes leave me, going to Mia.
His look changes, not sure what to exactly, but it changes a lot. "Just," His eyes still haven't left Mia but when she puts her head down he turns back to me. "Just stay away from him okay?"
He walks away without uttering another word but I don't miss the quick glance he gives Mia before leaving.
"What was that? How do you-When did you- I'm so confused..." She puts both hands on her temples and she rubs her head but I just laugh.
"Josh is my cousin, I'm staying with my aunt and uncle for a while." She just nods but I know that really she wants to ask a load of questions.
I only bumped into Mia this morning but already I've realised she's pretty nosy. I don't have a problem with it, it's funnier than anything else.
Before we can say anything else to each other, the bell goes signalling the next lesson.
******
It's been around two weeks since I started this school and pretty much nothing has happened except Mia and I have gotten to know each other in that time.
We've actually gotten pretty close and it's just us two. I'm getting a lot more settled in now but I'm still missing my mum like mad of course.
Now, I bet you're wondering if I've had any problems with that douchebag from my English class and I haven't spoken to him since.
However, I've learnt two things. One is that he definitely does sleep aroundâas Mia saidâand he's petty as hell.
I've seen him around, mostly in the hall, and he usually gives me a scowl while I respond with an eye roll. But now I think of it, I should really be laughing about how pathetic the whole situation is.
I stole his seat, big whoop.
Right now I'm at my locker shoving in the books I need for my last period, health. Luckily, Mia is in my class so I'm not going to be by myself.
I think before I joined, Mia didn't have any friends. I've never brought it up, just like she hasn't brought up why I moved here to live with my Aunt.
I think she wants to ask why I don't live with my parents but she knows I won't react well. It'll probably end in me going silent then trying to change the subject, or me trying not to burst into tears.
The bell goes and I quickly finish grabbing what I need, slamming the locker shut and making my way to class.
I'm almost at where I'm meant to be but before I can go in, I pass my biggest fan. Let's hope you do notice the sarcasm in that sentence.
Cole purposely bumps my shoulder and I stumble back from the force and that's when I snap. Josh told me to stay away from this dick but he's too much of an ass.
"Seriously! What is your problem? I took your seat, big deal, grow up. You walk around school trying to intimidate people but it isn't working. Quite the tough act already." I roll my eyes, huffing once I've finished speaking.
He stops in his tracks but doesn't turn around at first. I'm guessing he's angryânot much of a change. But when he does turn around, it's the opposite to what I think.
He doesn't exactly have a smile on his face but he does have a smirk on it. He chuckles a little and I'm more than shocked.
"What's so funny?" I cross my arms, frowning and he laughs again. Jeez, something's wrong with him, I've never seen him show any other emotion except anger.
"Nothing cupcake, nothing." I scrunch my nose in disgust. Did he just call me cupcake? I think I'm going to be sick in my mouth.
"Ew, don't call me that." I shiver, still cringing.
"I would get used to me if I were you, princess, you're going to be seeing more around a little more often. I'm not going anywhere." He winks and before I can pick him up on the cringy pet name again, he's already gone.
What the hell does he mean I'm going to be seeing him more often?
Seeing him once a day in English is enough. I try to let it go over my head and walk into health class instead.
"I would get used to me if I were you, princess, you're going to be seeing more around a little more often. I'm not going anywhere."
What is it with the nicknames? I'm not five. I see Mia waving at me from the back of the class and I join her on our desk.
The teacher isn't here yet so we just talk. I think it's best to leave the news about Cole until later. She'll end up screeching or making some sort of scene. I already struggle to remember her as the shy worried girl who I bumped into a few weeks ago.
It's been about five minutes and the teacher still isn't here. They're so hypercritical, if we were the ones late we'll all be getting detentions.
Finally, he shows up and once he's set up his laptop for the lesson, the noise in the class goes from loud to murmurs to silence.
Just as the teacher's about to speak, the door swings open hitting the wall from the force just like in English. Doesn't this feel familiar...
All of a sudden Cole's words from earlier come to mind and it all starts to make sense.
He walks in and his gaze falls straight onto me while smirking. He's really starting to get on my last nerve. The teacher ignores Cole and starts to teach the class. He goes to sit at the front of the class as fortunately, there are no seats near us.
"Why do you think he's joined this class?" Mia asks, whispering, and I just shrug my shoulders.
"I don't know but why does it have to be this one?" I complain and sigh, resting my chin in the palm of my hand.
"Oh and remember you're round mine tonight so no walking off so I have to spend the next fifteen minutes looking for you." That happened last week and let's just say I'm not planning on doing that again anytime soon.
She giggles quietly while nodding but stops abruptly when we both notice the whole of the class has their eyes on usâincluding the teachers.
"Well, I think it's best that Coles sits next to Andie instead because it doesn't seem like her sitting next to Mia is the best idea." Oh, you've got to be kidding me.
"No miss, I don't think that's necessary ple-"
"I think it's totally necessary. Maybe if you learnt to have your chit chats outside of my class we wouldn't be in the position would we?"
What a dick.
I don't say anything else and Mia grabs her things, smiling sadly at me, and moves to the seat sir is pointing to.
"Told you, you would have to get used to me." I ignore him, turning to the front while sir continues his lesson but I'm distracted by the continuous poking on my upper arm.
"Anyway, how's my favourite Mitchell?" He whispers so the teacher can't hear and I sigh aloud. He wouldn't have known I was related to Josh when I bumped into him the other day, this must be why he is acting like he is today.
"Ahh, I see what you're doing. This is to do with Josh, isn't it? Just stop speaking to me, I'm just about tolerating you as it is. Maybe then this lesson won't drag as much as it already is." I pick up my pen, clicking it, to start to write notes of what's on the slide. But I'm distracted.
Again.
Not by him poking me but this time by his breath tickling my ear as he whispers something to me.
"No can do, princess." I hear his chair creak as he leans back and I know that there's a reason he's acting like this. He hated me two seconds ago and I know this has something to do with Josh. I'm just going to have to be careful around him.
I pack my things up once the lessons over and I don't think it could have got any worse. After the horrible news of having to sit next to Cole, I also get told that I have to work on a project with him considering he is the person I sit next to.
After a large amount of arguing, Cole and I both decided to meet at the library tomorrow to start itâlet's just hope it doesn't take too long.

"So I was thinking, reruns of The Vampire Diaries and pizza?" Mia asks, lifting her head up from her phone.
I nod, "I could do with a pepperoni pizza right now." The thought makes my stomach growl and my mouth water.
"I'll order the pizza, you set up Netflix." Mia hums in response, walking across the room to get the remote.
"Please don't leave me." Elena sobs and I join in with her. I'm crying even harder whilst taking another bite out of my pizza. I hear sniffles next to me and I look at Mia to see she's crying too.
After another episode or two, I start to drift asleep but the sound of the door wakes me up. I don't open my eyes but I can hear someone enter the room.
"Is she asleep?" I hear someone whisper and from the sounds of it, it's Josh.
"Yeah, she's only just fell asleep, do you want me to wake her?"
"No, it's okay. It's Mia, right? I'm Josh." God, why is he being so awkward? I'm pretty sure he's never like that but then I start to piece it together. No. Freaking. Way.
The way he was looking at her in the canteen today, the nervousness, he likes her. I have to resist the urge to open my eyes and tease the hell out of him.
"I guess I should get some sleep, it's late, night." I almost burst out laughing from how blunt Mia was but I manage to stop myself.
I think I hear him mutter 'night' disappointedly before leaving the room and my phones buzzes the same time the door shuts.
I quickly check it and my eyes go wide.
Night princess, try not to dream of me tonight;)
How the hell did he get my number? The only two people at our school who have it is Josh and Mia and I definitely didn't give it to him, so who was it?
Trust me, I won't. How did you get my number?
Before he even has a chance to reply I add him to my contacts, giving him the most appropriate name.
Asshole: I have my sources ;)
Gosh, you're so annoying!
Asshole: You love it ;)
He uses the winky face too much but the text still doesn't stop me from chuckling quietly while rolling my eyes.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
That's the noise I wake up to at 5:30 am.
This is because my idiot of a best friend thought it would be cool to forget to turn off her alarm.
Who even gets up at that time to get ready for school anyway? Hopefully, if I repeat the question again in my head, I might actually have the answer as well.
Mia falls straight back to sleep while I struggle to do the same so I decide to go for a run. I know what you're thinking, why would you leave when you're friend is in the house? It's not like she's awake anyway and I should be back before she's awake so it's fine.
I leave a note, just in case, she wakes up, on my drawers so she'll see it straight away.
Gone for a run. I'll be back later. -A
I've always wanted to do that, Pretty Little Liars fan and all. I put on my trainers and start running as soon as the fresh air hits my lungs.
I stop not so long after and look at my phone whilst panting, trying to get air. The time's now 5:52 and I left at 5:50, embarrassing I know.
Deciding that I'm just going to walk back home, I turn the corner but stop when I see four figures who all seem to be arguing with each other.
"We shouldn't even think about setting this up, you shouldn't do it. Don't take your anger out on an innocent person who shouldn't be dragged into this." One of them huffs while another argues back.
"I don't care, that dick deserves it." I'm not sure if I want to hear the rest of the conversation so I step back, retreating.
If I hear anything I shouldn't, then I could get in trouble, whatever it is they're talking about. It sounds a little sketchy.
Still walking backwards, I keep my eye on the groups of people just in case they spot me but of course, me being me, I step onto a twig.
SNAP!
Cliche I know, but it isn't my fault. They all turn in my direction, that's when I recognise one of the faces and I'm not even surprised.
It's Cole Jones.
