'What are you thinking about?' Taehyung asks curiosity written on his face.
The rest of the bus driver is silent. Deadly silent. No one dares to talk. They are caught up in their thoughts. Jungkook is scared and hurt but he doesn't want to pressure Taehyung in anything. He never had a super serious relationship before neither had he ever committed being gay or gay for certain people.
Taehyung, on the other hand, is confused. Confused about Jungkook's behavior. Just a few minutes ago they talked like nothing ever happened and that they are best friends. Best friends who are really close and always be together. Like really, really, reallllyyyy close.
When they exit the bus stop they walk next to each other to Taehyung's apartment. The tension between them is for both of them unbearable so out of the sudden both of them clear they throat and begin to say 'Soo we are he-..' Taehyung starts meanwhile Jungkook wants to ask 'Who's this Jimin gu-..'.
They look at each other for a second and wait for one of another to continue what they have been saying.
'Who is this Jimin guy?' Jungkook asks breaking the silence again. 'I met him during the time I tried to revive you. He was a big help. We are close friends now' Taehyung answers casually which causes a burning ache in the genie's torso.
'You two like each other?' He asks shyly and glances in Taehyung's direction. Taehyung searches for his eyes but Jungkook avoids them. 'I mean yeah. We are friends so we like each other.' he responds the Jungkook's question which makes the genie groan. 'But we like each other too. Is it different with him?' Jungkook tries the last time. He's never been really shy before but he's afraid that Taehyung will break him, his heart. All over again.
Just a few minutes ago he realized on the bus that he really likes Taehyung. In a way to have a crush on him. He never bonds quickly with people and it takes a lot of time. He has to trust the person a lot to develop such strong feelings toward them.
Taehyung proved that he's always there for him but maybe he just sees him as a friend. Without lovey-dovey things.
Taehyung doesn't know how to respond. He doubts that the genie would ask questions like these without a deeper meaning. 'Sometimes I feel him staring at me or he makes this double meaning innuendos. It's weird but I think that's just how he is'. Taehyung states whereupon the genie hums, not content with the new information he got.
During their talk, they finally reached the apartment. Taehyung digs the key into the keyhole and opens the door.
'Home sweet home' he says and gestures for Jungkook to come in. Immediately the genie slips out of his shoes and throws his coat into the entrance corner. He runs towards the couch and flops on it.
'Heyyy' Taehyung shouts 'at least put your coat in the wardrobe. Jungkook just chuckles. 'I don't feel like it. What if it will exhaust me and I have to go to the hospital again' he considers with an unresistible pout on his face. Taehyung quirks an eyebrow but nevertheless turns around and does Jungkook's job.
'You know you are such a boyfriend material' Jungkook commits out loud. Taehyung just groans 'Shut up. Get your lazy ass in the kitchen and cook for me. Then you would be wife material.' He says without thinking about his words.
Jungkook jumps from the couch and takes a few things towards Taehyung. 'You know it's really rude to say something. I am a wonderful manly cook who loves to be in the kitchen all day.' He says with a warning tone.
During his time as a genie, he lived with tons of people. And one thing you should never say is that a woman belongs to a kitchen and has to cook for him. So he started to learn how to cook properly and he loves it.
Cooking is where you can experiment with different flavors and spices. It's interesting what beautiful taste creations you can make.
Taehyung squirms under Jungkook's gaze. The distance between them becomes less and less. He doesn't even dare to look in Jungkook's piercing eyes anymore. Suddenly Jungkook takes Taehyung's chin in his hand and forces him to look him in the eyes. 'Apologize to all these women out there who feel disappointed by reading your last statement'. He whispers.
Taehyung frantically nods. His heartbeat quickened and admits.
'Yeah, I am sorry I wasn't thinking. But could you please back o-'
And then Jungkook fills the gap between them and their lips are on each other.
Jungkook kisses Taehyung.
